Doesn't matter how good they are if the other studios are not willing to let them remake their old games .Well we are 6/7 years into ps5 lifespam ... can you show a better playstation remake than Demos Souls this whole gen ?
People are talking like Demon souls quality remakes are popping out like crazy and is very easily done.
"Well sony can divert to china or use ai or whatever" well sure... where's the proof ? Where's the remake that shows they dont need Bluepoint anymore because anyone can do it ?
Yeah.. im not buying it ... for me they just didnt care about bluepoint because their gaas strategy dosent accommodates this type of business anymore, its not were the money is, so pull the plug and fuck quality single player remakes.
Sure God of War if done correctly by Santa Monica will probably be good, but thats it, you can forget about bloodborne and other legacy games not already attached to current studios being done.
Theres no alternative universe were you shitcan bluepoint while at the same time thinking "well who can do this awsome bloodborne remake?"
My man asking this on page 39 of the thread.
If Bluepoint is gone, who fills the "premium remake/remaster" role at Sony now?
A YouTuber and industry analysis bellularnews made a great video explaining why Sony shutdown Bluepoint and explained that Sony statement about shutting down the studio is nothing but bullshit
Sony shut them down because they no longer fit playstation plans , and not only that but they could have sold them easily to another publisher but decided not to do so , so one can have access to their talent and technology and compete with playstation.
Bluepoint Games' doors are closed. Five years after Sony stepped through them to welcome the developer's staff into the warm embrace of the PlayStation Studios family, they have been locked for good. Without releasing a single game, another acquisition has been swallowed by the void that modern PlayStation is increasingly transforming into.
Naughty dog is totally safe, my dude.Even ND felt some heat when they had to prepare internal demo for Sony few months ago. And Intergalactic has surprisingly
(for ND) high chance of becoming a flop. Looking at initial reaction it's close to Highguard and DAV territory...

And comapre that to Yotei or Wolverine:

When even mighty ND is not fully safe, what about anyone else? Housemarque is making super niche game again, I doubt it will sell well.
Naughty dog is totally safe, my dude.
I'm more worried about ASOBI Team. These devs are great but currently Sony mostly care about profit and chasing after Fortnite audience.Naughty dog is totally safe, my dude.
As they should. You actually need to make stuff to have a good rep.If Intergalactic flops, they will at least lose their high status among Sony studios.
I'm sure Asobe is fine.I'm more worried about ASOBI Team. These devs are great but currently Sony mostly care about profit and chasing after Fortnite audience.
I hope so, that's the ONLY studio I care from Sony this gen.I'm sure Asobe is fine.
If Intergalactic flops, they will at least lose their high status among Sony studios.
Now that can happen. But I don't think Intergalactic will flop in any way. May not be the generation defining game they want in sales but it will do well. It might scratch their reputation tho.If Intergalactic flops, they will at least lose their high status among Sony studios.
Druck would have to set aside the ego and idea of "it's bigger than games".
Cuckman is too far into his own ass to act or think differently.... you can be sure the "cute" is coming, hard. The main thing Intergalactic has going for it is the rushed timeline. They won't get to milk it for 8 years and there will be a decent shot at recouping at least. Naughty Dog inertia alone will probably get them to par. Unless it's just atrocious somehow. I still think that original trailer was made before they even had a fleshed out idea for what the gameplay would be. If they're smart, they'll just make it a simple, but very good linear action game to get the easy W. It's already on shakey ground, trying to get cute could fuck them up. Druck would have to set aside the ego and idea of "it's bigger than games".
Bluepoint would be best served trying to do the Nightdive thing if they wanted to carry on somehow. Anytime they tried to bring their own flavor it was a disaster, but they're very technically competent. Could have a nice cottage industry remaking old classics. Singularity; who says no? Wolfenstein 2009 type stuff.
EA could pick them up and get them cranking on Allied Assault.
