The flaw in your theory : nobody buys Sony tvs.I got it! Maybe they're planning to integrate PS4 into certain TV models???

There is basically zero chance that the PS4 comes even close to the abysmal WiiU sales.

If they do this without the R&D to guarantee a low failure rate, it'll be an absolute disaster
This is insane. This cannot be true.
ps4 will not be 299... vita is 250
I'm not so sure that Vita will cost 250 when the PS4 will be released...
16 Millions but only for US and Japan, isn't it?
I wish it would have a worldwide release at least
thisisneogaf.gifAnnual parts shipment of 16M from August. AKa 1.3 million per month. I know it's poorly written and unreliable but why are people still interpreting this in the most unrealistic way possible?
Maybe we ARE the PS4. It would explain a couple things.
Ship early.
Hold in retail stock.
MS announces release date of next xbox.
Sony opens the flood gates.
Throw in that Sony is also willing to eat a hardware loss even in their financial situation. MS and Nintendo would rather strip their machines down, Sony calls a hardware loss at launch Wednesday.
People laugh at $599 but Sony ate $300 to bring it down to that price. We've heard that Sony is listening to developers and they are happy. Would be a nice follow up to hear that Sony is also listening to retailers and prices aggressively to gain back market share and lead in the next race.
We keep saying sony needs to listen/pay attention/not repeat mistakes. What if they are doing all of that?
Another angle for massive amounts of units early is cornering the market on parts, especially if MS and Sony are using the same parts more or less. Apple did that a few times. Locked in units for massive shipping, caused delays within in its competitors.
Sony is in war mode. The sleeping giant might actually be waking up.

Think about it though... Sony Playstation TV sold in various sizes... it could even be partially subsidized with a subscription service of some sort...
Oh wait, there you go... PS4 could have some sort of subsidized plan on its own when you sign up to whatever online service they'll have available. Maybe that's why they could think they'd sell a ton of consoles?
i wonder what investors think
I wouldn't say Zero Chance. In fact I'd suggest that it'll start out a fair chunk lower in Japan and the US.
Almost seems like the smart thing is to actually have limited supply for a launch. I dunno if that's definitely true, but it does seem to create more buzz and demand simply by virtue of the "You can't have it." effect.
I really think this crazy figure is part of the psychological war waged against Microsoft. They try to pressure them before the reveal.
16 millions? Wow. Talking about high expectations...
Yeah, 16 million seems like a ridiculous, arrogant number... until you break it down per month, world wide... and then it's just optimistic (and that's a good thing to be).
I'm not so sure that Vita will cost 250 when the PS4 will be released...
16m? Better be $300 if you want those numbers, dumbasses.
