For a beginner (already level 9) to Splatoon, how concerned should I be about items and their perks. Should I just stick with something suitable to my play style? (E.g, quick respawn, swim speed)

First time playing Splatoon and I'm already hooked. Two questions though:
1) How do I collect the gear earned from salmon run? I earned enough for the shirt but it's not in my inventory yet.
..
Props to anybody that can reliably use a charger. Getting stuck with that thing in SALMON RUN kills my effectiveness, I cannot imagine using it in pvp

2) How do I unlock all the amiibo gear? The first time I scanned them they gave me gear as expected but haven't given me anything since..
There's a counter at the left of the Grizzco entrance. That's where you collect your bonuses. How do you get the 3 star jacket from Salmon run? I already have 200 points.
So how does super jump work now? People always told me it was impossible without the horrible Wii u gamepad![]()
the sting ray is the worst. I don't even want to use it
Sooo, I did not enjoy the Splatfest Demo at all. I felt like I was never able to get anywhere, and was just getting easily crushed by the enemy the moment I respawned. I had already ordered the game from Walmart.ca though, so there was no way for me to cancel the game. Since I only paid $50 for the game and would easily get that money back when reselling or trading it, I decided to give the game a try and.. I'm actually having fun. I've only played turf wars so far, and I'm [obviously] as a very low level - but it's still an enjoyable experience. Now that I find myself playing with people closer to my skill level and not a bunch of Ranked clans, I'm actually getting the chance to explore the mechanics and discover my own play style. It's nice!
Is the Splattershot Jr. a viable weapon to continue to use after you've reached level 4? I tried the Roller, but it didn't feel as fun as the Splattershot Jr.
This is, yet again, the worst controlling multiplayer shooter available on current gen consoles. There is never a time where Im not fighting the camera, thanks to it rotating whenever I move the left stick. It shouldnt do this because you have the right stick for rotating. Thats how every other modern 3D game controls, including Breath of the Wild, for that matter.
Move the character with the left stick, rotate the camera with the right. Its not that hard to implement.
Weird. Had an error on reading my card. It's unbelievably hot in St. Louis today (112 heat index). Game card loaded now, I'll have to keep an eye on it.

This is your win streak with that weapon. If you get to certain numbers with the freshness meter (I think 5, 10 and 15?), you get bonus points. What does the number next to a weapon indicate? Like the 3.0?

You can also use gyro aiming to move a reticule over the person you want to jump to. I find that infinitely more intuitive than button shortcuts. How to super jump in Splatoon 2
1. Press X
2. Keep pressing random direction buttons until the person you want is highlighted then press A
Seriously, I don't ever look at what corresponds to the person. It's quicker to just press the different directions until it gets to them

Oh cool thanks guys.Your win streak or "weapon Freshness" (cringy as fuck). Keep winning matches with that weapon and you get large xp bonuses.
They put a shittonne of effort into the beatmapsI have wasted hours doing the sound test mini game.
Some of those songs are straight bullshit on hard.
Alright, cool. Rollers definitely do a good job of covering a lot of area and taking someone down quickly in close combat, but I prefer a weapon that can shoot forward and give me a path to quickly swim through. In splat 1 all weapons are viable just different styles so I imagine its the same here. I for one loved the rollers
As new player, there is a lot going on in this game. I'm digging it, but definitely feeling like I have no clue what I'm doing.
The Squid Satin Jacket on Splatnet is fresh as fuck.

God... slogging through Turf Wars... god damn. Feels like an eternity.
Turf Wars, worst mode in the game.
