Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

Anyone actually using the blasters? What a waste of weapon those are (to me). I'm finding the weapons you unlock at the higher levels to be rubbish.

Jeez, Squid Beatz is waaaaay more in-depth than I was expecting. Every song on the soundtrack (plus some more that I guess are part of DLC or Splatfest) is playable with 2 difficulties, and the charts are surprisingly pretty well made (and damn difficult, on the higher level). The only thing is that there aren't really any rules (you can hit whatever button you want for any note, lol) and the only feedback you seem to get on your performance are the dudes bouncing on the equalizer changing color. Maybe I'm missing something and someone can let me know, lol.

Still, glad I unboxed my first Amiibo to unlock it, lol. I'll have to check out the other minigames.

I have scanned the squid amiibo. How do you unlock the mini-game?

I think I'm giving up on the roller. Fucking useless piece of shit.

In the right hands it can be decisive in winning a game, especially the one with the squid bekon facility, I use them to great effect through out my game...

Also I tend to spend the first minute OCD'ing the area around the spawn to give me my special charge and to gain a fair percentage of coverage to build on, whilst everybody else pushes forwards, then I plop down a bekon or two for others to use.

I used the blaster earlier today, they help keep people away when they are above you or around corners.you should use it like a charger, except more closer to enemies

sitting at 25h of splatoonin' according to the activity log

add three full testfire sessions on top of that

what a season, what a season

Making a beeline to the center is not wise unless you are seeking higher ground as a charger. Moving forward with constant stops at vantage points to spray paint in all directions (sprinkler-style) gains points, gives you more painted area to maneuver within during battle, and builds your super up to help take control of the middle.

Maybe I'm wrong but lord knows it seems to work for me since I won every game I played today. Of course being vs randoms means it could be everyone else was just really terrible, but whatever.

Is there a video of Squid Beatz yet? Hard to believe I'm excited about a rhythm game DLC but here I am.
I was a bit disappointed that it's nothing more than a regular sound test with some buttons in the bottom you may or may not press, it doesn't has that full minigame feel that the jump one has. That said, playing that final boss music in the lobby is pretty amazing.

So. That tweet from Nintendo wasn't for show.
Splatoon seems to doing very well in Japan.

I don't get the Aersospray RG.. has to be glitched or something. Never seen a game where someone who uses it doesn't finish first with huge scores. Meanwhile I'm having 10-1 games where I fill in half the map on my own with the roller and get 1000 points? How is the aerospray rewarding so many points.
Users with the Aerospray RG have played through 15(?) single player stages and defeated three bosses. Unlike many Nintendo games, this is not a cakewalk. By this virtue alone, the users are rather experienced. Factor in the 6+ hours they have put into the multiplayer, and of course they are going to do relatively well.

This is the first competitive online multiplayer game that my wife has ever liked, PLAYED, and gotten pretty much addicted to. Excellent fun--love the aesthetics of the game and the ridiculous mayhem.

Just finished world 3 up. That boss was easier than the second one. Now my gamepad's battery is dead so I guess that's enough splatoon for the day.

I thought that I had this player cornered in a part of the map covered in my team's ink and they effortlessly used this splat dash technique to shoot at the ground while circle-strafing me. So humiliating -_-

So why is Splatmaster Jr. the "you must use this or die" weapon?

It should basically be called AeroSpray Jr.

But to wit - rapid fire rate across a decent spread, a decent damage output and good loadout. The Bubbler is incredibly good and the Ink Grenades go a long way.

Mine too, "glad" to see I'm not the only one with that problem. Wish I knew what causes it, their servers or something on my end.

Regardless, it really bums me out!

I am getting some sort of disconnect probably in 1 out of 3-4 matches today

I used to take time laying down ink in the base, but now I'm enjoying great success with an incredibly aggressive opening gambit where I just blaze a trail straight for enemy lines.

If you can choke them while they're still at their base, you buy time for your teammates to either catch up or to ink everything up to that point. In Urchin Underpass, I'm fast enough to reach the other team while they're still near their base. They then end up fighting me, and if they kill me, they'll paint over what I managed to paint. But at that point they've already lost: My team will have painted the other two-thirds of the map, and will be descending on their base, containing them to the far end of the map.

I make exceptions to this strategy on Saltspray Rig and Blackbelly Skatepark. On those maps I prioritize the towers at all costs. On Saltspray, there are always people fighting over the small area to the south of the map, but all I care about is controlling the area to the north. I blaze a trail to the far left or right and climb to the top of the tower, and then I spin and spray to quickly paint the whole area. At that point it's just a matter of holding the area, spamming the "C'mon" command to encourage teammates to super-jump to you. I then eventually branch out and lock down the middle area, as well. That's usually enough to win.

Same with Blackbelly, where if you can capture the central tower and spin and spray, you can paint down the middle third of the map, which along with the first third (your base) will win you the match.

It feels so fast and aggressive now.
