That's tough, as they are completely different games. It's hard to make a recommendation either way. Splatoon is an incredibly fun game though and possibly my favorite Wii U title.

(I bought The Witcher 3 on launch day and have yet to play it lol)

The game just docked me 38 points in Ranked mode for a connection error. Nice, Nintendo.

Anyone got any semi-dependable strategies for Splat Zones? I can't find one which works for me. The best is just sneaking around killing people and hoping my teammates claim the zone in the meantime, but my aim isn't really consistent enough for it to be a serious viable strategy.

Did you enjoy the splatfests?

Game is great so far. Every match is super fun and hectic, and the game is already adding content to keep it going.

If you're not enjoying witcher for the issues and you can't wait for it to be fixed and rather play some awesome stuff right now, sure! Go for it.

I didn't notice this, but I did notice that the light on top of your tank glows when you have enough ink to use the secondary weapon. Also, a sound effect plays when this happens.

I think that the problem is just on the start. People will learn the difference pretty soon... I hope. Also, hopefully they'll stop super jumping all the time. I mean it's okay to do that in order to save some time, but when you jump right on the opponent's fire you don't manage much...

Gotta check that out! On that note I freakin' love all the different animations going on in the plaza. Inklings dancing and strutting around all cool. It's a great hub.

I could see them rolling them out over time rather than release multiple modes at once. Keeps people playing longer and makes them less likely to trade it in.

Yup, Witcher3 is just.... too daunting and depressing for me right now.

Also, parent-bias dictates that I'm usually more drawn to age appropriate content anyways

According to Splatoon Direct, before the August update. Perhaps they are already in the game, just like the Port Mackerel map was.

K/D is not a factor. If it's a knockout (the vast majority of games) you get 500 + the win bonus which depends on your rank (iirc 2k at C+, 2.3k at B-). Loser gets nothing UNLESS the game went to overtime where they receive the amount of points displayed on Judd's bar (around 300 in a close game).

Ah, this makes sense, I think I had just ranked up hence the difference in the EXP I got.

I'd like to read Amir0x impressions on this game. I still remember the Tearaway thread, filled with passion. I feel like Splatoon is one of these games that generate such good vibes.

Played through some Ranked Battles last night and wow, they're incredibly intense. Had a couple matches that went down to the wire, and we would end up winning by 1p in literally the last second. Lots of fun, and encourages me to try out different weapons.

The only problem I see is the low tank, as it empties after a few hits but other than that it's cool. Great range, does nice damage and the Inkstrike+bomb are great special weapons.

I like it but I don't use it because I can't stand the small tank. It ruins the gun for me.
