I think you're all fucking crazy playing ranked in a game that ranks you on your teams performance whilst not allowing you to make a team. Crazy.

I find it hilarious that so many people are whining about how Ranked doesn't give you enough exp for losing. I mean like, who gives a shit? Leveling up barely matters after 10, so I don't get why people care so much about arbitrary numbers. Play the game because it's fun, not to fill up an exp counter.

Even still, Ranked mode gives so much for wins that you only need to win 50% of the time to get more than you would in regular mode.

Doesn't Spyke begin the process of adding extra abilities to clothes and rerolling current abilities at Lvl. 20? Considering that I want form and functionality, that's a pretty big incentive for me. :p

People just need to get good enough to carry their team. Simple but effective solution.

I'm still terrible at ranked, but yeah, that got me to level 20 pretty quickly once I got to rank B-, you get tons of exp when you win as you progress.

Back at C now though. :(

I think it's most useful for breaking through enemy lines to make that last stand.

I use it to break an enemy blockade once I reach the middle of the map.

Rush to the enemy base, paint around, generally dodge et cetera. All the while, my teammates have 1-2 less enemies to worry about as they constantly repaint their base.

Why are strippers at the U.N. bad when they're great at strip clubs???
When one is a Kraken which button do we use to attack, like ZR doesn't work and I see a bunch of times where Krakens jump over me and I die?

Sorry for noob question.

Only at the low price of 30 000 which is roughly 20-30 matches worth for every piece once GRE exploit gets patched out

There's a lot of really good people online though especially when you get higher up the ranks so that's harder and harder. Youd basically need to be better than 90% of people who play the game to carry your team to a victory consistently considering how its random matchmaming

Too many people sleeping on the Blaster in Ranked. I was the only Blaster for 3 hours during my night session last night and getting top kills constantly.

Maps on rotation were Skatepark and Underpass and I'm finding the Skatepark is a real tense battle with the 2 zones and the multiple places of elevation. Underpass I find once a team secures mid, they can quite easily hold the chokepoints for a quick win.

I think it's a horrible horrible weapon. It's perks are damage and area of effect, which don't seem to help much. I mean damage is great... but after a certain point its overkill. The area of effect looks worthless unless their team is idiots and clustering up. Both don't seem worth it over superior range and fire rate which seem to matter much more in this game.

If it shot a tiny bit farther, or a bit faster I'd be down.

The idea is that if you deserve to be a higher rank, you'll carry your team easily.
I'm currently in B/B+ and struggling to carry games at all now, but the games are very fun

Oh man, Reddit is suggesting a Capture the Zapfish mode. That would make such good use of this game's crazy mobility.

Not actually that important
Just saw someone with the worst internet ever, teleporting everywhere with her roller. He wiped our team three times, we just splatted I'm different times. Everyone else moved normally.

Geez I'm not surprised, on NintendoLife there's a thread full of people saying how good the online is in MK8 and Splatoon contrary to Smash where they play the whole match in slowmotion, with their internet averaging 1Mb down 256Kbps up and many using tethered 3G from their phone... except you don't notice it because of how the netcode is, but for us you ruin the game genius.
People are clueless. And yes, latency is way more important but that kind of connection (and 3G has awful latency on top) you can't play those games decently, even just double that would be ok (2Mbit down and 500Kb up) with a good ping.

I've been lucky since I haven't have met uber shitty-internet folks yet.
Thank god Splatoon has the best netcode/online mp experience of any shooter I've ever played, yes it's much more simple and can't be compared with something of the scale of BF and yes it doesn't even have vc but in the end the experience it seeks to deliver is top notch and that's what counts to me; I've never felt frustrated cause my shots weren't connecting, teleports or invincible folks aided by shitty hit detection, not even once so far... that's a first for me.

I wish Smash was this good.

Because of the huge grind for cash after you hit the cap, that exploit won't last forever

Ah right, that's a good point. I still don't think it's that big of a deal unless you're really in a rush to make money. If you want something consistent, play Turf Wars, if you think you're good and want to gamble with your chances, play Splat Zones.

I see stuff like that as small bonuses. I'm not really in a rush to worry about the specifics of stats on gear, and I'm already level 18. I know there are level 10+ weapons too, but again, they're all just different versions of base weapons you can get below level 10.

I'm lv. 18 at the moment. I don't think I'll revisit Ranked until I hit lv. 20 and add extra slots to my outfit of choice (schoolgirl). I'm also leveling up a three-star outfit at the moment — jungle hat, mountain vest with double defense, and low-tops. That might suit me better for the kill-or-be-killed shenanigans of Ranked.

So regarding Tower Control and Rainmaker, will they be under Ranked Battles with Splat Zones and chosen at random so that one match you're playing Tower Control, the next you're playing Splat Zones, etc? Or will they each be their own selectable mode?

Yo, so how often do you guys find that you're pressing Y when using motion controls? And do you ever get completely spun around when you do so?

Yes a lot. Pressing the Y button actually orientates the camera behind to whatever direction your character is facing. So pressing down on the stick to make your character face towards the camera then pressing Y will make the cam do a 180.

Perfect for quick turning and getting the hell out of bad situations.

man, splat zones just clicked for me

leveled up to C rank haha

this mode is crazy fun. I think I've found the perfect set up too. got my custom splattershot jr. with the disruptor and echo locator, both of which are crazy useful in this mode. I get a lot of splats now because I'll just hit people with the disruptor and then take care of them. then for gear I've got the beanie that has opening gambit which boosts your speed for the first 30 seconds, the shirt that has ninja squid, and boots that have ink resistance.

good stuff. wish there was a way to join friends though. bummer it's not included yet.

It really wouldn't be an issue except people are already harping on the game for limited content so adding a mode thats more or higher levelled players irks people

I don't like getting zero points to lose Splat Zones that is why I play it less :(
I want my gear monies wins are based on how solid your team is so I want at least some points for my time spent

Going by the menu...

Look at the upper left. The mode will probably be on rotation like the stages.
