Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

wow, 2 fucking teammates d/c'd in ranked halfway through a round, we got stomped. i mean we were getting stomped before but we could've at least fought them to a standstill...

Hell yes; bring on the Inkbrush. It's going to be surgical.

Has anyone seen shoes with Swim Speed Up other than the Black Seahorses or Orange Lo-Tops?

Hello, I'm still undecided if buying Splatoon. I only tried it briefly during the testfire but it didn't make an outstanding impression to me. I find general design and game feeling very good, I think single player should be fun but multiplayer, which is the game focus, looks quite oversimplified to me, with smallish maps and overly strict time limits. Didn't felt very strategic in general nor tactical in eventual 1vs1 gunfire.

But since I didn't closely follow what the game has to offer, would anyone be so kind to make a short recap of game modes present/announced and multiplayer settings? Time limit is always fixed? Game scope is always paint more surface than vs team?

Regular Battle - 4v4 paint-the-most-area battle. The mode we all know since its reveal. Online only.
Splat Zones - 4v4 mode where teams must conquer and hold one or two specific common areas in the map for 100 seconds. Online only and is the ranked mode in the game.
Battle Dojo - 1v1 local multiplayer only mode where you pop the most balloons in a map.
Single Player - a 27-stage game where you rescue zapfishes to restore the power source of Inkopolis. Plays like a third person shooter adventure game with platforming and painting mechanics of Splatoon.

For all multiplayer modes, the time limit is fixed. As for maps, the game currently has 6 maps for both the regular battle and splat zones. More are promised to come at later dates. Additional modes are also coming plus additional weapons and clothing.

As for being tactical, yes this game is tactical to the core. Just ask the players here. :p

Even better. I cannot wait. Going to be poppin' out of corners hittin' people with the three piece and leaving all day long.

Sweet, do we know what the special/sub weapons are for it? Might give it a try even though I don't like rollers.
Judging from the amount of ink the sub-weapon uses, I'm thinking the seeker:

It's too much for something like bombs or grenades

EDIT: Nevermind. Sprinkler was my second choice :P

Sprinkler is really nice, I'd prefer something other than inkstrike though to combat the lack of range it'll likely have. Bazooka, Kraken, Bubbler or hell, even Echolator would have been ideal.

Nah, the thing's MO looks to be hyper offense, so in that case something for distractions to flush people out or just make it more balls to the wall "gotta ink/kill fast" seems ideal.

Best multiplayer I've played since Modern Warfare. Or rather, first time since MW I've truly felt a MP game felt significant to me. Game is so much fun, I can't stop playing it.

I've been rocking the Aero gun, because it has great spread. But I kept seeing people say Splattershot Jr. was incredible. I finally got around to using it as my main for multiple matches, and it's amazing. My kill count went up substantially each match. Def my fav right now in Ranked mode.

Edit: just saw the post about the paintbrush. Looks interesting. Excited to try it.

I reckon if the leak was true we'll see
Isle Delfino be announced on the E3 direct with it being downloadable after it ends.

The Paintbrush looks like it was made for Splat Zones. Sprinkler and Ink Strike? o_o

The most puzzling thing in Turf War is bad players that have reached level 20.

It's a real killer when you get two players on your team hitting 200 pts each.

You can still reach level 20 even if you're bad :p

Yeah. But I like to imagine since games start so quickly, some games there are people fumbling their snacks or racing back from the bathroom. That must explain the low 200 pt score. :p Of course, you just could say no and back out after the match lol

Only having access to two maps every four hours is really annoying when you start to play right at the start of a rotation. I really hope the 2 map thing goes away at some point.
I'm also close to giving up on ranked, I never win in that mode.

They're going to start rotating three maps at some point in the future.

I didn't know this, that's great news. Are they always going to keep clothes rotated 24 hours? I've been let down by my clothing choice two days in a row now (been level 20 since 3 days ago).

It's kind of a bummer waiting for the rotation, and then not really liking anything and having to wait again for another day.

You know you can order clothes from the people on you plaza talking to Spike ?

Can't remember if it's limited to one item, or one item of each type per day , but it gives you some more options.

Still barely level 12 myself, too much going on around games I like these weeks xD

Sometimes it's also on the weapon of choice. Racking 300p in 3 minutes using a slow ass weapon is a pain for me, that's why I keep those weapons for ranked.
