Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

Aerospray MG is officially my new favorite weapon. So good. But I think I will need that ability to fill the ink tank faster.

Nothing. Not everything can be for everyone and maybe this game just isn't clicking for you.

Have you gone through the single-player?

Nearly finished it, just got the final world left. I enjoyed single-player and the bosses were fun to destroy.

It's just multi-player mode that isn't clicking with me.

That's mostly why. I'm just not sure I'll still care about it when the content comes. It looks like a fun Summer multiplayer game, but MGO comes in September. Not sure if I'll have room for more than one multiplayer when grad school starts.

And yes, Kart and Smash are worth the price imo

Fair enough. I'll play Splatoon the same way I play MK, for an hour or so a couple nights a week. If you're looking for a single game to dig into then yeah, probably not enough content to keep you going. Keep an eye out for a discount though, it's fun.

Loving this game. The music is amazing and I love the style of the characters. The hip hop influences are really cool. To me it feels like a cuter Toejam and Earl. Also anyone know what time the items in the shops rotate? Can't find anything about it on google

15 hours in. I played for 5 hours straight. This game is crack. Finished the campaign mode. Holy crap that last boss was epic. Loved the ending and how it affects
the plazza, with the giant fish on top of the tower
. Love the Miiverse integration, it wasn't activated 2 days ago, cool to see all the enthusiastic bubbles and tags.
This is almost guaranteed to be my GOTY now. And the best is yet to come.
Well done Nintendo, well done.

I've had so many rollers just run right into it. Pretty great to use at the warehouse. The skatepark, ehhhhh not so much
Yeah, there are too many "obstacles" in the way of the chaser in that stage. On the subject of skatepark, it is probably my least favorite stage so far.

Real talk, Jet Squelcher is terrible. It is basically a counter for chargers, but it is so bad. Slow walking speed while shooting, sub is the splash wall and it can't even be thrown where you want it easily, uses up as much ink as the Splattershot Pro. Most firefights take place up close in Turf War, so the super low rate of fire really hurts it for close combat.

Custom Jet Squelcher could help with a different sub, but man is the base gun lacking.

On certain maps it's actually incredibly effective, ones like the skatepark are great since you can stay out of range of all the Splattershots and take people down, along with causing mischief by dumping paint all into their base from the middle ground or chucking the walls in front of them as they try to squeeze down a corridor. I absolutely tore up some matches there using it.

Problem is that on tighter maps you're screwed, and being unable to change weapons in the lobby means you don't really want to be using it unless both maps in rotation are ones it performs favourably on.

I'm level 10...
You also need to have got up to a certain point in the single player as well as being level 7. Not sure exactly where though, I don't have it yet after beating the 2nd boss.

G A F B O Y S

If only we could have tags/group names...

Heck Yeah!

Here's the moment where some of us gaffers were on stream: http://www.twitch.tv/tarolg/b/663894545?t=5h54m55s

Me, IntelliHeath, Smashkirby, and Out_of_ammo.

I like to think I did well till the last match where we lost in a comeback by the other team.

I felt that I'm not doing very well in that game but again it's my first hour playing the game anyway. Hopefully I would able to get better.

I assume it's at midnight every night, which also seems to be when Spyke receives his orders. It's far too infrequent as it is: I've gone up probably ten levels since the shop last rotated, and even then, it only brought in one piece of two star gear. Should be every six hours or something.

Finally confident enough to move on from the Splattershot Jr and its Bubbler and onto the 52 Gal. The difference in offensive capability (both for taking people out and taking territory) is huge and the superior range and accuracy more than make up for its poor firing rate. Good stuff. Tried the Aerospray RG, wasn't mad about it: the firing rate is good, but the range and damage are awful. I generally try and avoid fights and focus on stealthing my way around to reclaim enemy territory, so good ground coverage is pretty essential. God, I'm playing far too much of this game. To think I was about ten minutes from cancelling my ~£21.50 preorder, now it's an outrageous bargain. Well done, Nintendo.

I won my first 11 matches :D

Had a question that's probably been answered....do the abilities stack such as damage up, or moving faster in squid form (etc)? So if not would be best to not have copies yes?

How do you get more gear? I'm assuming the shop only updates daily and the only other stuff I've gotten is the gear at the end of the campaign. I keep seeing people with 3 star stuff and I don't know how

Got to Level 4. This game is pretty fun.

But first lets get negative.
- 2 stages per 2 hours is pretty bad...at least make it 3.
- some disconnects
- uh....umm...

Outside of that and the general I could see it getting old "complaint" that you can levy on most games, this is a damn good time. I only bought it to support Nintendo creating new IPs but I may actually get a great game out of it too. Super polished too. I lost a lot but had fun..which is super important for someone whose gaming skills are dwindling fast.

Good shit Nintendo.

Will try singleplayer (which I basically bought the game for) later.

OK, the Splattershot Jr. variation that has disruptor and echolocator is fantastic.
What does disruptor actually do to people who I hit with it though?

Out of the maps I've played I'd rank it Walleye Warehouse>Blackbelly Skatepark>Salt Spray Rig>Whatever the hell that confusing map with the chain fences that was on the last rotation is called.

Recorded this from one of my games last night. That feeling when you dodge a Kraken...

I'll be adding some people from the sheet in a few then hopping online. I'll be streaming as well so I'll post up the link when it's up.

Single player is worth it

I think they will add a third stage to the rotation.

disruptor slows the enemies movementspeed

Fuck thats dope!

Loving this game and I seem to be the only one on both teams that regularly scores over 1000. Though it does look like people are getting the better hang of it as the matches go on.

Reading a lot of people disliking Urchin Underpass, no idea why. It's a good symmetrical map with lots of opportunities for sneakiness and the central area is brilliantly frantic. The only downside is that there should be one more entrance into each team's 'base' (for lack of a better term), but it's not too hard to get in with a concerted effort or some subterfuge. Everyone seems to like Walleye Warehouse, which I am personally not all that fond of because it's so narrow and small, meaning certain special weapons tend to become massively OP, particularly the Killer Wail.

Oh yea, good games to everyone who played. We nearly had rooms filled with only GAF members.

Yea, on Skatepark, it is useful cause of its openness and can catch any non-chargers because they won't be that stealthy. You're very unlikely to catch opponents from a far range to make use of its range though. Most encounters take place in a really close distance.
