Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

Destroyed a level 20 opponent though I'm only level 9. Thought he had me cornered on the high portion of Blackbelly Skatepark but I leaped down and shot him from above. This game is so fun and addicting.

Equipment switching in the lobby (in addition to Squid Jump/the other 8 bit games from Amiibos) is my most desired feature for them to add. Having to exit out just to swap gear is really annoying, especially when playing with friends and then having to try to get back in their room. Oh, also the ability to exit out of a lobby once you're in one.

Almost finished the campaign (though have only found about a third of the scrolls) and it's a lot better than I though it was going to be considering the game is MP focused. Definitely some Portal and Mario Galaxy vibes at at times and just generally high quality.

About mid way through level 9 on MP and digging it. Want to finish the campaign and at least hit level 10 tonight later tonight. Completely drained my Wii U's extended battery with it today so had to give it a rest. Think this morning I was level 7 and only just past the first boss, now I am up to the last boss and mid level 9.

Just added myself to the spreadsheet.

Separate sensitivity for X and Y is what I want most

The secret is, there is no bad map. Even skatepark with all its flatland is nice, it just needs two aggressive full teams to work. All the "lesser" maps take is one Bob Ross and you're backed into a corner. But even a spawn camp can be over come by some smart squidding, and everyone forgets that Arowana just needs it's side platforms to be utilized properly. I believe they held back the completed maps because they don't want people getting lost, when most of the streamers don't even know that walls don't count.

Just bought the game tonight and played until I hit level 5. Game is ridiculously fun. Had to drag myself away from the console.

Equipment switching in the lobby is an absolute must. Especially if you think you might get paired up with a bunch of other rollers, for example, it really pays to be able to bring something else to the table on the fly.

Alright, spent some more time with the E-liter 3K...still not so great. To be effective as any of the other weapons you have to put in a ton of skill and even then, I still don't think you would do as well as the other weapons. You have to have perfect aim with the charger AND the balloons. One huge drawback is if you don't full charge your line will be incredibly splotchy. Wish the other chargers had echolocator special, really useful if the rest of your team is good.

I was getting 2nd on my team winning or losing pretty consistently.

I'm not a fan of Urchin Underpass. I just hate how restricted it feels, unnecessary blocks and un-climbable walls everywhere.

I really want to buy this game but all I've been hearing from my friends is that its a broken, unfinished mess. How have your experiences been? Should I hold off on getting it until the rest of the content comes in?

We're having too much fun.

Also have your changed the DNS setting for the current internet connection?

8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

Those are Google's that they make available for people to use. Nintendo even suggest those here if you are having connection issues.

Hey, thanks for this. I'll have to play more tomorrow to confirm but it seems like this has really fixed my situation with Splatoon. Never have issues with MK8 but have been getting TONS of disconnects with Splatoon.

Played relentlessly... just got to lvl 17. I became worse and worse as the night went on. I haven't been as addicted to a game like this since I played League of Legends. I quit that game because it took too much of my time and energy, hopefully that doesn't happen with Splatoon. @_@

Not even close to being true. It works great and haven't seen a bug yet.

My back hurts from all this carrying my team.

I would definitely be flaming my team if this game had some voice chat. Can't stand people fighting over that smaller area at the bottom of SaltSpray Rig when there is an areas 2X the size at the top.

I don't know what game your friends are playing, but it's not this one. Splatoon is one of the most polished games I've played this gen.

It's certainly not broken. It plays great, has pretty good netcode, and features a fantastic single player.

It is, however, pretty light on content (for now, more will come later), and has pretty poor online options.

I have no idea how any sane human could come to this conclusion.
Game feels a little light on content but that will be remedied with free maps every two weeks this summer, and likely paid DLC somewhere down the line.

I haven't kept up with any news to be honest, but yeah, my friends keep telling me how it doesn't work and how they can't ever get a match.

I really wonder if your friends are playing the same game as us... it's not broken, it's skill based and team based. If your team do shit then you won't win.

It's good game, Nintendo did their jobs.

You can wait to buy if you like, that won't change its price and core gameplay. It's up to you.

That you can connect to Mario Kart 8 I think means you should be able to connect to Splatoon. Hmm. No issues connecting to the eShop, etc I assume right? It can't be because of the locations of the other players because MK8 allows you to play with others around the world as well. You are still connected to the Nintendo Network as a result.

Have you tried completely removing your network connection from the Wii U (deleting the entry), restarting the system and then readding it? This instead of just editing the entry to manually set the IP?

Yes, I had those DNS settings when I was setting up the manual connections.

So that's what the problem was... did they even tried the single player while waiting that their issue get fixed ?
Anyway, did they at least tried to get help from Nintendo ? Beside, like you can read in this thread most of us doesn't have this problem.
