Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

Trying to force myself into using my secondary abilities more, I almost never use them "naturally" since R1 is so damn awkward to press on the gamepad.

lol wow people need to stop perpetuating this hate for gyro controls and actually try them. The precision is insane, much more than the stick with their ridiculous dead zones.
You literally have to try them at the start haha.

And the accuracy is good, the precision sucks because you have to constantly press Y when they sort of fuck up.

The maps are mirrored, yes, not exactly symmetrical.
But does it like flip what you see too? I've never ever been on the right side of the oil rig.

I'm sure some people legitimately give them a shot, but it does seem like most people are just saying "NO" and refusing to step outside of their comfort zone.

I can only imagine, because they're just... not bad. They're good. And they aren't hard to use either.

Just started playing and it feels like a beta, especially the sound. It seems like half the things you do don't have sound effects, textures look like dogshit as well. The gameplay is fun though,I just hope it gets polished as the rest of the game rolls out.

What things don't have sound?

Having so much fun with Miiverse!

Btw Tentatek Splattershot is still my favorite weapon. It's just perfect, the golden aerospray is cool but not so deadly.

I know some people have a harder time than others, but really it took me all of 10 seconds to adjust. I was so impressed that all my concerns about Star Fox instantly vanished. Later on at level 10 in multiplayer I tried turning it off and wow, it's so crappy compared to instant 1:1 movement. I did turn the sensitivity to -2.5 but motion in itself is so superior.

I press Y once at the start of a match and never have to touch it again. Dunno what you're doing.

Is your Wii U surround vs stereo correctly set up? Sounds like your outputting surround to a stereo system or something?

I'd agree that it feels like a beta, but not for those reasons. Haven't noticed any lacking sound, except I guess how the Inklings are silent for the most part.

And he's not wrong about the salty stuff, the game was clearly released early.

I don't even think it's that 'clear.'

To me, they are 'clearly' doing their Nintendo thing again where they simply think rolling content out slowly to let people get used to this weird gameplay concept is the right call. The maps are done, the modes are done. You can see this by how they're handling ranked mode. They want constant content drops to keep the playerbase engaged while also letting them come to grips with the mechanics and playstyles of this unusual game.

Not getting that feeling at all. Besides content amount

Is no one else having massive connection problems at the moment?
Might be my router, but I hope not... Smash, Mario Kart, anything else has been fine. Also set up the Wii U as exposed host. Still dropping connection left and right.

Nintendo has literally never done anything like this before haha. We haven't seen any evidence that the modes are done either. They had to get it out the door so they had a summer game.

And if you are right, that's beyond stupid on their part.

Just got these in!
It's a shame they don't work with more games. Squid MK8 helmets/free Smash DLC would be great.
