Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

So why is Splatmaster Jr. the "you must use this or die" weapon?

Bubbler is probably the most useful ability if you are typically in combat, and it's the only weapon aside from a sniper that has it up until level 14. Also Splattershot Jr is just an all-round solid weapon.

That said I greatly prefer the Aerospray MG, great coverage and the launcher covers for its lack of range.

Holy shit... had a match where it was neck and neck, then just before the time ran out I tossed a suction bomb up in the air. It splatted a circle of our color way after the fact (saw on the map). We won by .2!

Many people are too concerned with their own score rather than the team. Often, when you have the upper hand, defending strategic points on the map is much better than rushing into the enemy base. For example in Arowana Mall, once you are in control of the middle section, it is rather easy to keep the enemy on their side.

I have seen matches completely turn around because people got too greedy.

Yeah, same with the top part of the rig.

Defending chokepoints doesn't get you the most points but it has to be done sometimes.

Skatepark is actually one of my favorite maps. For me, it's all about taking the central tower. The longer you hold that tower, the longer you can spin and spray. Seriously, don't even look at the floor -- just spin and spray. You'll paint over the whole middle third of the map in no time.
I go back and forth lol. My biggest problem is not being able to tell what does and doesn't count.
Nothing feels better than dropping and ink strikeouts the middle tower when the enemy thinks they've got it held down though lol.

Yep, too many times my teammates would take the middle part, and then move straight forward only so that the other teams comes around the side, takes middle, and then the people who moved forward die, and we're left at a disadvantage.

Im pretty bad at this game. What's the preferred weapon?

It really depends on your play style. In my case, I go for coverage over everything else, so I use the Aerospray MG and Aerospray RG, those guns in combination with my stats make them really useful for covering the most amount of area in a short amount of time.

If you play more as an overwatch position, the Jet Squelcher is handy. It has the range of the charged weapons, but the fire rate of the Splatter Shot. It can cover a decent amount of ground, and take out enemies that may be hassling your team mates.

The .56 Gal & .96 Gal are nice support weapons. They offer slower fire rate, but a good amount of damage and coverage. It's to pair with a player who's using the roller. The .96 Gal also offers the echo-locate sub weapon, which is useful to your entire team, as it shows enemy placement.

Those are just my two cents. Remember, you can test out ever weapon before you buy it at the Ammo Knights shop. Just see what feels right.

Yikes, four losses in a row.

Luckily I followed up with six wins in a row... lousy non-active teammates.

Haha, gotta love the randomness of this game ey? Unfortunately, if you get paired up with some bad teammates its pretty hard for you to win off your own skill...

Can get quite infuriating when you get successive losses despite being one of the best players.

Ranked battles and party battles can't come soon enough :)

Personally I like it when a side can push back like that. Games aren't that fun when one side is just able to keep one side from pushing forward and can dominate a match. Feel that way in regard to other games as well. The back and forth is what makes online multiplayer fun.

Almost there

The .52 Gal Deco is soooo good. With two inksavers and and strength up, I'm plowing through everyone and laying down a ton of ink. And seekers are so good. Plus the gun just look cool with the jewels covering it.

Ranked Battles are where the team thing will show, since everything is about the team's performance and no individual scores are given.

Turf War is more of a casual "single-player" mode IMO, similar to a MK8 online race, or something.

Honestly i love the aerospray, but i really don't feel like playing anything other than the charger, even though i suck with it. Such a dilemma

My man!

I got the Deco + strength up + ninja skill + fast swim.

I am death inkarnate

Or not enough XD
(I don't mean to go all the way to the enemy spawn point)

That feeling you get when you're holding the top of a tower, you notice an enemy trying to climb up, so you hide in the ink on the side of the tower, the enemy comes up, looks around, and then you AMBUSH him... only to get wiped out by an inkstrike while you're still gloating.

Funny thing is, one of those matches only myself and another guy were playing and we were wrecking shit. We only lost by 5% to the other team. That was one loss I didn't mind that much.

I still hate that shit. I like the ol Rig the most at this point I'd say.

I'm a big fan of the rig

but man, when your team does a good job on the skatepark it's great. when your base is completely covered with all the little passageways and stuff it's so easy to just squid around and manage the other team at the halfway point.

1300+ with the Krak-On Roller.

I didn't think I'd be using it. It's fantastic on the Skatepark though. Having to squid up ramps creates ample spaces between the rolling to optimally reload your ink.

Im pretty bad at this game. What's the preferred weapon?

That's personal based on your approach in the game, but perhaps start with a roller and work up from there? Also, make sure to play the Single Player campaign, since that's a very good (and fun!) training ground for online (and it unlocks a couple of useful weapons).

As one who's often on the receiving end, I agree. More than half the time, if I've died, it's to an Aerospray user.

And I thought the roller was bad during the Testfire, haha
Indeed, the players with the highest scores tend to be using the golden aerospray

Level 10 finally. Did my part. :D

Going to play a few more rounds and then finally check out the single player.

I don't really like the aerospray after testing it. Good for racking up points(too good) but doesn't feel as helpful to the team as many other weapons. Not much of a killing machine.
