Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

I believe that the Krack-On Roller and Aerospray loadouts are the most powerful in the game.

You simply cannot stop them.

i love my aerospray but it's got plenty of weaknesses

range is terrible, the rest of the loadout ain't stellar

it's all about how you use it (aka the splatoon weapon story)

Is it just me or is that rapid blaster as terrible as I think it is?

Yes and no. I like it but the ink coverage is insufficient and you need to be good at reacting.

The fact that shots DON'T burst if you hit something before the burst range is hit really throws me off, since I'm used to nade launchers either bouncing or exploding on impact

I'll have to try it out eventually, but you might have to pry my sprinkler from my cold, dead hands. Seriously I'm hitting 1200-1300 regularly with this thing.

Sprinkers are so damn fun, it's ridiculous how quickly you rack up points with the right placement.

If you have grenade range+ equipment, there are some maps where you can easily shoot sprinkers into the enemy base from high ground. It's absurd.

I think in the last three days I've pumped about 20 hours into the game. I've found myself having to just stop myself playing. I've never been much of a fan of competitive shooters, but having the emphasis on covering ground rather than killing was a fantastic decision. Even if I am having a bad match where I die quite a bit I can still come out of top because of how much ground I covered.

I really hope when the sales numbers come in that this game has done very well.

GGs everyone.

I think I understand how to use the Splattershot Pro now. You can create a charger like line to rush into the center and then just make it rain with your ink by going crazy. That will help in taking control of the center part of the map.
I'm calling it - the Blaster is going to dominate Ranked Battles.
I don't think that will happen, it's range is too short. It is one of the best weapons to rush in to the center though.
Blaster is my main. I've gotten 10+ kills on maps multiple times with this weapon and it's basically built for narrow choke points and ambushing around corners. It's a one shot with a direct hit (110-125 damage), 2 shot with the explosion damage (55-63). Obviously horrible for painting the map so I focus on pushing the enemy team back as hard as possible so that the rest of the party can paint.

I think people have such a difficult time with this weapon because despite it's explosion radius, the explosion only happens mid-air. If the shot hits the environment before, the explosion isn't triggered, so it actually takes some twitch skills to quickly line up your shots when someone is in your face.
I think you're underestimating its ability to cover ground. It's like a mini-charger except no wait time to charge and can create a flexible path. I've managed to get a number of top place finishes with it.

I think it is bad. I'll need to give it a better go at it later on. Maybe the Deco one is better.

Started playing this this evening. Is there any cue for when your special is ready? I always forget about it :/

Sound cue and your head will start glowing like FIYAH baby

Aerospray counter seems to be the .52 gal, 2 shots from that baby will end me every time :T

I think my worst enemies are people who use blasters and use them well. I just have no idea how they are such a good shot with it but OHKOs are quite painful because you essentially have no warning and you can't react. It just seems so terrible when I use it.

Everyone seems to be using the Aerosprays now, so I don't bother. Focus on those one shot kills! I do love that firing it in the air and it basically exploding still creates a thick line of ink on the ground despite it not dripping with ink.

Good to see people Splash Dashing (or whatever its called) to get to places faster now.

Is it? The only differences seem to be booyah and c'mon. What else is different?

Some of the single player dialogue is totally different. Notably the final boss who is rather lacking in personality in the EU version and all his lines are different.

Final boss example:

US: You can't handle my spicy wasabi beats!
EU: Go, my minions!

Not sure about the rest of single player, only compared the boss.

I'm in a different match now I think, heh

skies and his impeccable shield timing

Yeah, I realized that trying new weapons and then waiting to join your game wasn't the best way to go about it. So I'm just playing public matches while I try stuff out.

wow super lame. Final boss was still cool gameplay wise but why would they unfresh the dialogue like that?

killed 3 rollers in a row in the last 10 seconds for the win on the skatepark

felt good

let's be honest

whether you're defending or leading an attack, fending off an assault or trying to conquer a choke point

all multi-kills feel so goddamn good

edit: not to sound like a maniac, lol

Agreed. Especially since a triple kill or higher is followed by a LOT of cathartic painting.

I'm guessing it's because NoE has to translate it into multiple European languages and it's just easier if they keep it all more literal and don't spice it up. Shame though.

Just did all the Amiibo challenges for the Inkling Boy. Got some cool stuff, although the weapon being a minor reskin of the basic roller is disappointing, though I understand for balance reasons why unique weapon combos aren't tied to Amiibos.

Plan on doing Inkling Girl and the Squid amiibo challenges later, which will be useful in getting fast cash.

Wow, that's awful. The final boss was fun partly due to a lot of the dialogue going on during it. I also noticed there is unique dialogue on repeat playthroughs of it as well.

That's cool for the other languages, but I guess it must be a non-trivial copy-paste job to put the American version into the EU English or something

Apparently the European version did a straight translation from the Japanese version whereas the US version tinkered with it.

Days of Ruin syndrome :T

Bout to check out for the night. If anyone would like to add me, the NNID is Gummisaurus.

Hope to play you all soon.

Hit rank 20, spent all my money buying new slots or re-rolling old ones, then remembered I have a truly awesome shirt on order and now absolutely no way of paying for it. Oops.

I believe so. I remember seeing those same shots. Looking forward to it!

I'm a bit unclear on how the voting works, though. So everyone votes for one of two teams, and then you win points for your team, right?
It's not points but:

1/3rd popularity %
2/3rd win %

According to the official game guide

Finally picked up the game today and so far I'm inking hooked on it. I usually play just single players game but in this most of my time has been spent in multiplayer mode.

Does rerolling the slots also change the main one? I just reached level 20 as well and I'd like to know. I don't like my shirt's current abilities but the main one is Ninja Squid, which I don't want to lose.

If only the Splattershot Pro's fire rate was a little bit faster. Using the Aerospray and I love everything about it but wish it's range was a little further. The seeker is all sorts of awesome though.
