It would be cool if the maps featured different times of day, like in the single player. It would add a little bit of variety so that even if you got the same map twice in a row it would look a little different.

I agree -- I don't know why there isn't some variation, especially since that variation already exists. Apparently other game modes may modify said stages to different looks?

I forgot to post about this, but the other day the libby found 8 players within a few seconds and then kept saying "waiting for players" for the 180 or so seconds and then timed out and said "could not find enough players". Sucks because you can't leave the lobby so 8 of us were just waiting for 3 minutes.

Constantly having a team that just charges ahead is killing my enjoyment. All day today, out of a couple dozen matches, 90% of the time I was paired up with a team of "Lone Wolf" 's that barely cover their base.

These aren't starting players, these are players with a high rank (between Lvl 15-20).

they just trying to get those points, lol they suck

I can't get a streak going to save my life.

lol, my longest is like 4.5. At my current skill level, I'm the second or third (out of the eight players) if you adjust for the bonus points; I'm between ~550 and ~800 in nearly every game, unadjusted (so, ~850 to ~1100 if my team happens to win).

So, since I'm not anywhere near "the one" who is swinging matches, I'm 50/50 for a win in any given match. And the 50% that I win are the ones where I happen to get matched with the dominant player in that batch of eight (who usually has 1300+ points, adjusted).

My guess is that the people mentioning the long streaks here are the dominant ones that are winning matches for me when I happen to wind up on their team :D

This is because the 4 hour stage change just rolled over. It always does that to everyone when that happens.

Two best feels in splatoon match end screen:

Win with a 1400+ score, whilst the rest of your team has scores all below the opposing teams scores, even with 300 point bonus.

And losing with a score higher than the winning teams top score, even with their 300 point bonus.

Im finding having unreliable players often gets me really high scores, even without the 300+ bonus, because i am always painting over enemy colors...

While matches with in the know players putting the map on lockdown only gets me 1000-1300... Because the entire map is my color and I cant paint :(

Oh, and i just found out that the 'flag meter' keeps going even after the graphics are maxed out... Ive been cashing in after getting full flags 10.0 and forgetting about it after :(

Does anyone know if the level cap will be raised?

Man, I can't stay away from the game. Took a small break and right back at it, knocking out amiibo challenges now to get some extra money and those outfits/weapons. Can't wait for tonight!

I'm usually 2nd or 3rd on my team in wins and 1st or 2nd on losses. So I'm kind of in the same boat, but a run up I guess. I do much better in this than any other shooter I've played for sure, at least competitive shooters anyway.

Overall, I'm loving the game. I hit level 10 yesterday and haven't touched the single player or Amiibo challenges yet. Had a busy weekend so I didn't get to log as much time as I'd liked.

My only gripes are that they need to add in some standard online shooter features like having multiple loadout slots, being able to change loadouts in the lobby between matches etc. And a few gameplay quirks I don't like much like the high number of trade kills (where you and the person you were shooting both die) etc., and the silly two map at a time rotation vs. just having all 5 rotating randomly.

Recon might be the best ability

Explain?

Yeah, I find that I typically just hold the middle or key points when I can, which means more kills and less points. I prefer the team winning than me getting more points though, so it works for me. More fun!

Charging ahead is absolutely the best strategy in the game. Don't be OCD trying to cover every bit of ink on your own base, that's useless.

Think about it like this, every bit of ink that you cover that is the enemy's color counts DOUBLE for your team - you're subtracting their progress, and adding to yours. Covering unpainted areas near your spawn isn't helpful. Those areas will get covered anyway during the course of the match, I promise. Meanwhile if you can push in directly into the enemy base, they'll be super stressed out by that and freak out trying to kill you, instead of jumping ahead to claim area in the middle. You can waste a TON of their time if you're fooling around in their base.

Just give up once and join those people charging ahead, it's a great time. You'll be there to cover each others' backs against the enemies doing the same.
