So I think I found a counter-strike-esque maneuver. In the mall, when you take the right path that leads to the mid in that narrow hallway, you can throw a sprinkler/bomb over the wall that us to your right when you are facing the splatzone. I believe it will land on the changed part of the mall that connects the side platforms. I did this and got a kill when someone was boxing me into the pathway and I couldn't get out. Pretty cool.

I don't know, many. I use the red gun that fires very far, don't know how it's called in english. Then I go to ink their pathways and prevent the sniper to come back or just sometimes hunt him with the echolocation.
My gun allows me to kill stuff in the middle from where I am while the sniper guy respawns.

I don't know how I would do against a team of three chargers though :lol:

Ranked Mall is really great once you occupy and guard the other team's side entry. I ink down the hall and I glance at the gamepad to see if anyone is coming through with their ink.

Also, I've started to use the charger in turf wars. I'm using the scope and getting 1000p+. Port and Warehouse are great for charger uses.

The gold pimp as shit roller is a weapon not made for Ranked Battles. But it's shotgun range and damage is NO JOKE. So when I get into position, stuff goes right.

I'm in a lobby waiting for players, no one is joining and my timeout counter keeps resetting. Originally the lobby was almost full, but players kept dropping out as no one was connecting. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Edit: Just as I posted, someone joined my lobby. I should mention I'm in ranked.

Edit 2: The person left. Someone else joined but left as well. Is turning off the console the only way to leave?

Edit 3: Ended up just unplugging my router. I didn't want to have to restart my console.

Just in case any of you love the game so much you want to take a piece of it everywhere you go, HTC has a splatoon theme and changes the ring tone to the theme of the game. Maybe other phones support it too?

I don't see people using the 'squid jump to base' option anywhere near enough. It's such a good get-out-of-jail-free card when you know you're gonna be surrounded and killed or if you're in danger. Much better than getting splatted!

It's based off of the balance of the ranks between the teams. So their team must have been lower ranks than yours.

The Zapper '85 is perfect for Splat Zone.

Fast, accurate stream of ink for laying down focus fire on somewhere, or someone. Ecolocator to find the enemy team, because kills are more important here. And grenades to knock down enemies around corners or standing on top of ledges.

I usually spend the beginning inking all the turf my teammates left behind and fight for the middle as quick as possible. From there, stand at the top of the ramp looking for targets to shoot and stop from entering the middle while my teammates ink their side.
Occasionally glance at the GamePad to check if anyone's trying to be sneaky from the sides and juke them while trying to get a good charge/splat bomb off on them

I use the Kelp Splatterscope and Splat Chargers though, so I dunno what a good tactics for other weapons on that level are

Go to the sides after you got control of the zone and either guard the pathways up or go aggressive and kill them as they try and funnel back. From there you can cover the middle pretty easily and win most of the time you get good penetration.

From a quick test, using 3 (!) pieces of gear with Swim Speed Up as their MAIN ability only improves travel time by 14%, so it's effectively useless. Also, despite the game saying Ninja Squid reduces “slightly” your swimming speed, the difference is insignificant (less than 2%) so don't hesitate to use it.

I can't believe I made it to rank C+, ranked mode is fucking brutal. And if you have even one weak player in the group, you're pretty much screwed. Since I'm level 13 I finally have clothes that give 3 bonus each, I can't wait to have the ones that give 4 bonuses. It makes a HUGE difference.

Edit: For the people that are having trouble with ranked mode, try playing it after you get better gear, since you see a lot of people that are already maxed out and with good gear. I started playing at level 10 and the handicap is huge. At least it made me a better player.

Ranked is really intense, focused 100% on pvp so better not miss your target while defending the objective. You need to be fast and accurate because 1 min go really fast and faster if the enemy team doesn't put a fight.
