I thought it was never revealed who Ohba really was.

It is a given, but your statement as I bolded could be read as such a statement saying HanaIro was one, which is why I wanted to highlight why you got the reactions you did over your statement.Izayoi said:I thought it was a given that Iroha was not a perverted show on the whole, though. You'd have to be crazy to think so.
Am I going to need to spell everything out from now on?
It's the most likely scenario given the circumstantial evidence involving Tottemo! Luckyman.cosmicblizzard said:I thought it was never revealed who Ohba really was.
No, just something I often see when it comes to stuff like this...Izayoi said:Are you being facetious here or are your implying this is what I think?
Not officially (i.e. by the Shûeisha), but considering the evidence, there's no reason to doubt anymore... Ôba/Gamô doesn't even try to hide it.cosmicblizzard said:I thought it was never revealed who Ohba really was.
Oh, you meant work as in working? Of course not. I simply meant work as you exerted effort to get that tag.Izayoi said:Pfft. Claiming that I would post it once in every new anime season thread? If that's work I want a job in that.
Fair enough, but I wish people would at least take the time to ask what I really meant if there was any confusion instead of immediately grabbing the torches and pitchforks.Geneijin said:It is a given, but your statement as I bolded could be read as such a statement saying HanaIro was one, which is why I wanted to highlight why you got the reactions you did over your statement.
Anywhere that interchangeable "r" or "l" shows up Engrish comes into play, especially with names that are not supposed to be Japanese. Horo sounds more natural and "Japanese" to me than Holo does, which comes across as forced and awkward. It's a matter of preference more than anything. I get that they want the name to sound foreign, but that doesn't mean they have to make it sound stupid.Erigu said:No, just something I often see when it comes to stuff like this...
(not sure what's "Engrish" about "Holo" though... or "Horo" for that matter)
That's what I'm saying. I exerted zero effort in obtaining my tag. My merely having an opinion and stating that I would repeat my opinion at some point down the line I acquired a tag. I've seen elaborate joke threads and all kinds of crazy stuff in efforts to get tags, whereas I did virtually nothing in comparison.Geneijin said:Oh, you meant work as in working? Of course not. Don't know what other reason gave you that tag, but it seems like that was the reason.

True, but, to be fairer (just wanted to say that), how often will people do that? People will seldom ask that initially unless something prompts someone to ask "joke post?" or the alike.Izayoi said:Fair enough, but I wish people would at least take the time to ask what I really meant if there was any confusion instead of immediately grabbing the torches and pitchforks.
Then you must have missed the other efforts where people did almost nothing to gain their tags e.g. tag fishing threads. There's someone who got his tag for never posting in the related thread (I forget who). That's what I'm saying. I exerted zero effort in obtaining my tag. To be fair though when the episode with "fanservice" first showed up alot of posters already expressed their distaste, you're just lttp and there are more defenders of the show around now.Izayoi said:Fair enough, but I wish people would at least take the time to ask what I really meant if there was any confusion instead of immediately grabbing the torches and pitchforks.

Besides, you're working to maintain your tag right now by holding onto your opinion. I hope it isn't a horrific defeat or a hollow victoryYeah, it's bad! Leave me be.

I do something of a mst3k with some people once in awhile. And these JC Staff shows make for some terribly good choices.jman2050 said:People are still watching this?

Because of the shame?
I don't even watch it for Rie. I watch it because it's fucking hilarious, awesome, and badass. I was expecting bad tsunderes and gun porn going in, and by God I got it! What I didn't expect was what a deliciously brilliant camp the plot turned out to be. It's one of those So-Bad-It's-Good blood pumping action shows. Not quite as good with the style as stuff like Shoot 'Em Up, but this is a serial television show. I think they're doing a great job with their material and format.Infinite Justice said:Maybe
Its just i don't remember the fans of Rei on here saying anything else about it but hey.
Infinite Justice said:At least he's improving.

That, and not enough people to talk to about it.zeroshiki said:Because of the shame?
I'm up to Episode 3.Infinite Justice said:Its just the other's zeroshiki implied that i'm wondering about.

Infinite Stratos was so special.
I'm up to Episode 3.
Actually no, it's production values are pretty damned good, hilari-bad CG aside (and even that adds to the charm). I mean, I don't disagree that it's a terrible show, but that's sort of why I like it: It's so bad, it's AWESOME. I just enjoy it for what it is.zeroshiki said:Its a terrible show with crappy production values and a non-sensical story.

Except that Shakagana no Shana is NOTHING like Hidan no Aria. The former is a relatively sane (if kind of inane) Tsundere magical girl meets MacGuffin boy. While Hidan no Aria is pretty much the same in terms of plot basis, it's totally insane. It does such over-the-top things with a stupid grin on its face with no apologies while back-flipping over explosions shooting two high caliber handguns with pinpoint accuracy. It is in no way realistic, smart, sane, inane, or good. But fuck me sideways if it isn't totally AWESOME. SnS by its tone, pacing, more muted character writing, and predominance of character drama told me to take it seriously. Aria has none of what SnS had. Aria has Hollywood Action Movie pacing, the tone of a show staring Jon Claud Van Damm, Wesley Snipes, Vin Diesel, AND Steven Seagal, extremes of character, and enough explosions to make Michael Bay blush.Izayoi said:Well, if it says something, Shana isand I could not stomach watching HnA. I'll give it one more episode, but the production values are some of the worst this season, and with stuff like Ore-tachi, that's saying something. JCStaff is a blight upon this world. Just like how they started Merry awesome but then flew straight into the fucking ground for the last half.my waifu
I'm hoping JCStaff loses the license to Shana and Ufotable announces that they're doing S3 with all of the old voice cast or something.
Actually, I'll take anyone but JCStaff. Please, someone, anyone. ;_;

It's anything but a death pact. I don't believe I've admitted to any of the sort!zeroshiki said:Geneijin has some kind of death pact with crappy anime this season.
Don't forget the anime thread is a long look through and this is GAF where OTs like TWGOK, Gosick, Legend of Legendary Heroes, etc - died.Infinite Justice said:Lol but i could see that as a reason since IS had Dresden, ABF, macodin, etc chatting.
I don't know about plain dumb fun, but I do agree the lack of a serious tone (mostly) makes it easier to accept things happening and follow without as much of a discriminating eye if one finds joy in those sort of animes.doomed1 said:Hidan no Aria is just plain dumb fun.
Yep, and UBW, which needs to disappear. I've been scarred by that face.zeroshiki said:I will laugh maniacally if what Izayoi asks actually happens and its DEEN.

I see this issue isn't very important, at all!Izayoi said:On the contrary, "Holo" comes across as horrendously Engrish to me. Say it out loud. It's awkward and does not roll off the tongue very well. "Horo" is much more natural.
Hey now. It's a classy show!Izayoi said:Iroha is nothing like Aria. It's a slice of life starring three young girls, that's the only similarity. Iroha is perverted and has real conflict, things which are not present in Aria.
You're just saying that because you're a Sky High fan.Jexhius said:Apart from the actual advert for pepsi they did!
