Is it an R or an L? I don't care. I do care about the rather sketchy quality of the translation on my Whispers of the Heart and Adolescence of Utena DVD's.

Index II 24:
Finally done with the series.
I'm not coming back for the inevitable season three.
As for new shows Hanasaku Iroha was good stuff, though that's begining to sound like a broken record. Nichijou was kind of amusing, I'll give it a few more episodes to see if it wears thin, though either way it's a gif goldmine.
And I watched Midori no Hibi on a whim after someone mentioned it upthread since I had read the manga ages ago. Was a good adaptation but other than that nothing special or noteworthy about it.
On that note, that Hen Semi (is it Semi or Zemi?) has absolutely no rape references in it so far is something good about it, in its genre... but certainly I agree about it being weird.
I nearly fell asleep watching Nichijou. I'm usually a KyoAni whore but this is borderline for me. Too many puns (seriously? KY?) and the characters aren't particularly interesting.
Hanasaku Iroha blew me away though. This is what I've been looking for from PA Works ever since True Tears. None of that Bee Train or Key shit. I get that its going to be strong-willed girl melts heart of closed-heart Grandma but goddamn, everyone Ohana is related to is either a bitch or probably looks at loli porn.

Her grandma threw a bucket at her and made her work the moment she arrived, slapped an innocent girl just because, slapped her multiple times and smokes in front of other people. She's a lovely person I'm sure. Her uncle also looks like he gropes women on the train.

Doesn't make her less of a bitch either. I'm sure we'll find out that the grandma has this deep trauma from before that made her like that and Ohana's presence will melt her ice-cold heart. And I'm ok with that.
Oh shit, PA Works did Angel Beats. Hrm... well, other than the fact that Angel Beats had no consistent tone, I suppose I actually enjoyed the production.
Well, here's hoping this show is a bit more consistent that the other two. :lol

PA Works also did Canaan which was pretty but also made no damn sense.
I was hoping Iroha brings them back to True Tears goodness and I think it does. They work better with slice of life as opposed to action/whatever Angel Beats was.
I think someone said they disliked all the characters, but that has been pretty much the only point of contention. Well that and the one song, though that's a rather minor quibble.

Frankly, I don't see that grandma mellowing any time soon. I imagine she'll end up acknowledging Ohana as her granddaughter at some point but I hope her personality stays the same.
I'm just tired of it. There are other shonen stuff I could watch/read. I think seeing the spoilers for the new book just kind of killed it for me, not to mention that lame third main character the author tosses in, complete with his own harem.

I demand a thread title change to acknowledge Iroha somehow. This is Madoka levels of oversight. Except Iroha doesn't have a bait and switch people can point to as the reason.

Same here. I love her work makes ones worth attitude. She'll come around to ohana though, That's pretty much guaranteed.
As for P.A Works, I've never seen Angel Beats, so I can't compare, but wasn't True Tears generally consistent as far as the production qualities go? The plot/pacing was a different fucking story, but I remember everything else being damn solid.
Cardboard evil? The lady is trying to run a business and she'd just appreciate a bit of professionalism! It's not her fault that some gal from Tokyo with no experience has been foisted upon her.

Again, my problem with Index is it has a ton of potential but is weighed down by stupid shit. The amnesia plot point could be given more focus and even lead to a couple legitimately somber moments about identity or some BS like that. Accelerator is a thousand times more interesting than Touma. Index is... well, I think it's self explanatory.
At this point, I'm just in it for the fights which have been pretty underwhelming throughout season 2. I'm sticking with it for the promise of extremely broken characters fucking shit up and the character designs which I really like.
Of course I don't know much about what's going on past the anime, so I can't tell if it'll continue to be average/subpar.

Well I got around to finish Code Geass R2 and I wouldn't mind an R3 because
he's still alive to me dammit. ;-;
That said I saw there was some manga called Code Geass: Shikkoku no Renya, and the descriptions said there was a guy resembling Lelouch in it and blah, blah. Also the descriptions say it's set in Japans Historical Edo period, yet this Renya guy has a robot arm. WAT.
Has anyone read it? If so, could anyone tell me if it has anything to do with Lelouch and gang because I haven't found a site that could give me more info on it in spite of the fact it started in 2010.

Same here. Guess they had to felt that they had to come out the gate swinging their making muscle, regardless of the subject material.
Thinking on P.A works and subject material... Thy're not to good at choosing it, are they? Angel Beats, I didn't give two fucks about. True Tears was a piece of shit. And Canaan went stupid only two eps in.
