When it's ZEXCS? Their consistency has been on par with White Fox.

Edit: I see no reason to bet against the studio despite recent trends trying to suggest otherwise.

Excusing studios that don't really have any consistent culture, such as A-1, it still seems a pretty reasonable way to go. Sankarea soon fell into mediocrity when the overall director stopped directing every episode, so it's not a particularly great example.

The Light of El Cantare
Well, as far as I know we are. Who else is represented so well on SOS?

Turns out I was wrong. Junji Nishimura did the script for ep 8 of Fujikoike—this episode was directed by Toru Takahashi, who did 10 episodes of Utena (TV). Interesting stuff, though.

I wasn't thinking of Sankarea so much as Mysterious Girlfriend X (Hoods) and the upcoming Natsuyuki Rendezvous (Dogakobo). Of course, unlike Sankarea, both those shows have established directors (Ayumu Watanabe and Kou Matsuo) who have connections they can take advantage of when putting together their team.

Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito 2

Oh Yami to Boushi, where are you going?

Trust me, it isn't going anywhere in particular. It just drops in on a smattering of locations, times, places and characters with no rhyme or reason and then it ends.

Enjoy.

Sankarea 7

Man, Chihiro was a pretty shitty self-absorbed kid. Not much has changed, actually.

And it's kinda hard to sympathize with Wanko's plight when even she herself admits she could do a whole lot better.

Well, in the case of Mysterious Girlfriend X, I am more impressed by the consistency in the direction/storyboarding than the actual animation work that the studio produces. Still, unlike White Fox with Stein's Gate - 1 I haven't seen any disastrous episodes of MGX, so that's good I suppose.

They're putting TMS to shame, anyway. The new Lupin series is terribly inconsistent with its production values, direction, scriptwriting, etc. MGX, at least, seems to impress with its consistency, and it came from an odd background in every sense of the word!

Jexhius seems to be well-versed, to the point that he can recall memories of productions past and just, you know, talk and analyze on a whim. He's the best role model one can get in the anime community: just watch a lot of anime!

I don't know, MGX may not be as sakuga as Hyouka or Tsuritama but it's had solid and even some great animation and art throughout its run. Well, apparently there's a wonky scene in episode 7, which I haven't seen yet, but it's still doing pretty well for itself. Certainly better than Ayumu Watanabe's other show.

I wonder if there's any animation in this week's episode of Lupin. I'll be checking it out soon...
There's some, actually. Some weird sakuga in the cooking scene, too, but it's mostly a Rintaro-like affair here (as close to Osumi as the episode is, it lacks that balance of great animation and economic moderation that he's defined by).

Real talk regarding Darker than BLACK sales:

- DtB Season 1 was 26 episodes (25 TV + 1 OVA) and released in 9 volumes.

- DtB Season 2 was 16 episodes (12 TV + 4 OVA) and released in 8 volumes.

- Aniplex is laughing all the way to the bank.

- Also, while DtB S2 outsold DtB S1 when you count the average sales per volume, it should be noted that DtB S1 sold another 9k or so for the BD-Box. So adding that to the average volume sales for S1, it sold more.

Episode seven looked off in a number of places, not just the aforementioned running sequence. For example, where the background class room is usually well animated we have nothing but static shots.

Eureka7 AO 6

I dunno, I feel like
the impact that Bruno's death was supposed to have on Chloe and the rest and the lesson Ao was meant to learn from it would've worked better had I known more about or cared for the character in any meaningful way whatsoever. Having a grand total of like five minutes of screentime was definitely not conducive to that. As it stands, whenever they talk about him I just sort of have to take their word for it
.

Truth seems just a tad overpowered to me.

Eureka Seven Ep. 34

More poorly handled exposition.
Norb
is pretty cool, though. The attempt to shoehorn Moondoggie into the episode's plot was laughable.

Worse thing yet; less showing of Mr. Ararararagi toned abs on various scenes is a disgrace... why would you do that?!
I have no idea, considering that Ararag seemed to be taking his shirt off at every opportunity I assumed that it was something they'd be keeping in for the female fans of the show.

...

Hey, they might exist! I'd actually find a demographic breakdown of Bake/Nise's fan-base quite interesting.

Yeah,
her sister is the student council president and the student council president moves in with Ichika for shiggles.
Is this student council president a character we didn't meet in the first season? I assume so...
Anyway though, of course she moves in with him! I mean, he has to be rooming with SOME girl or other, of course... sounds like more fun ensues? :)

But the Rufuira!! ones aren't adult-only 'dōjin', at least the two volumes released as those are about everyday life stories, and for the moment it has centered on the three main representative High Grade girls in the same way that Upotte!! Nano includes more parallel stories about the Primary Grade ones, although this later spin-off can be a bit more random. Anyway, all that about Rufuira!! could change on future numbers... if he keeps doing them, of course.

And Kitsune Tennōji has a website dedicated to his self-published works. Be advised; the following link could lead to explicit content... please, check the indications carefully!

Huh, that's interesting. I haven't actually read any of his works apart from some of the Upotte and Upotte Nano mangas... so Rufuira's actually not porn so far? Huh. I guess the other doujins he's done are then.

But that's like everybody!

You really should get bonus points for making longer posts. :)

I thought RKB was better.

I know that that Rosario to Vampire is pretty terrible, but no, RKB is surely worse. It's a not about preteen-girls fanservice and nudity, after all. The girls are (mostly) older.

I mean, it is an awful show, and I dropped it after just a couple of episodes so I did not like it at all, but it's not RKB bad. Just average bad.

There's more naked girls in RKB, though. And they're younger than the cast of Rosario.
Right.

so its worth is based entirely on how much it offends you?

The only way that you're going to get numbers that aren't either 100% or 0% in any category is if the base is polled on their favorite girl.
