HOLY SHIT WTF DID I MISS???

*slaps face*

Today's opposite day, that's gotta be it.

It has unveiled Jexhius' true form.

I knew he had hidden power, but I was not prepared.

Neither was I.

what is going on

where am I

this cannot be right

I have no idea what's going on...

Jex... has had a hard life.

I'm a fucking prophet!!

Jex is...

... Jex has had a hard life. He needs some time to rest. *Otakonsniffle*

Damn son, your post seems to suggest that there's something worse out there.

Koi Kaze comes to mind. Eiken sets out to be this weird T&A show from the start. Koi Kaze lulls you into a state of comfort, with nothing out of the ordinary, then BAM! I was not prepared. Don't read the show's description for maximum effect. Just press the play button and get ready to be amazed.

I disagree. There could be a coming of age story starring a dude in his 40s. It's just a number after all.

That kind of negates the 'age' portion of 'coming of age'. An adult has already come of age and gone through the kinds of things that kids go through in those types of stories. There's a pretty clear divide between 'coming of age' and 'midlife crisis'.

What the hell happened to Jex's avatar? Has moving to community driven him (more?) insane?

I will say his tag works even better with his new avatar.

Everything is scary now.

Koi Kaze is not a bad show. It has controversial subject matter but it is a decently directed show. Eiken is just complete and total shit.

I watched Koi Kaze with the expectations that it would get creepy.:p I guess I watched it wrongly then.

But Koi Kaze is a classy show that does a good job of presenting its subject matter in as neutral a way as possible.

Huh. Are you suppose to be embarrassed about eating a 'fry on the tray'? I usually just dump all my fries on that piece of ad paper they usually have on trays.

so, no more oreimo discussion? is it totally banned from gaf? Im assuming so, if the reason for locking that thread was "incest" overtones.

One might almost think Jexhius had this planned all along.

Yes you are, Tsubomi.

I bet dude with glasses is totally
Cure Moonlight's dad
.

Tangent: are there any fat magical girls in a serious, non-parody series? I don't mean fat in-universe and not from our perspective, but like legit fat?

Aquarion EVOL 14

Watching that bug rot was kinda disturbing =/

But seriously... wtf did I just watch?

Is the girl... a necromancer?

And the lack of OP makes this a lame eps.

Ah My Goddess TV 04
Enter what'shername, uh, the Queen or so she calls herself.
I liked the episode, it wasn't super romantic or whatever and instead just did a slice of life episode featuring a girl who is out to get Belldandy.
I am liking the whole System Force that's going on. I wonder if the anime is going to stick with it more since I remember in the manga it pretty much gets dropped midway through once the other goddesses come in.

Zetman 1

I've heard that this is a compressed adaptation, and there were a couple story points that could have been handled better with a little more care (
Jin discovering his grandfather's death, him waking up after being attacked in the park
). The soundtrack is not as effectively choreographed as it could be. But overall, as someone without prior familiarity with the manga, I thought it was a good episode that effectively introduced the central characters and what motivates them. The action animation is pretty good, and I look forward to seeing more elaborate fights later on.

But what if they haven't? What if they've been living with their parents for their whole lives and home-schooled and stuff?

Pretty good Dr.Pepper commercial and
hooooly crap, human gel-nanas
. Plot thickens
into Bill Cosby jell-o
.

People in the IRC I visit know I love slice of life and suggested Koi Kaze with the pretense of it being deep slice of life.

Thirteen episodes later:

There is an ocean of bad shows, but never so thought-provoking and needing to cleanse myself at the same time.

Zetman was pretty much what I expected, nice to look at definitely. I don't care for young Jin at all though, I'll be glad to see the back of him! I'll follow it a few more episodes and see how it goes

The thread title suggests otherwise.
That's what you think!

Randomly talking to cosmic about named moves reminded me of what they did in Symphogear this week. The moves and title cards are still there, but they never actually call them out. I think that's the happy compromise between needing to have moves for the video game and not having moves at all!
