Let's just talk about how great Haruhi is, guys.
Oh god, its been 6 years ;_; I feel old.
Maybe they can gaze wistfully at each other from across the room.
I still don't know how or why Haruhi S2 happened but KyoAni better not pull that shit off again.
Haruhi S1 was fun.
These are actually some of my favorite aspects to Slope's visual style. It has a very cooled look to it, fits the quieter jazz feel for me. If anything shading and lighting were a bigger problem in Tsuritama for me because most everything is just a flat bright shade. Slope winds up looking much more real to me.Uh, the shading and the lighting looking bad is a point. Why is that considered a blanket assertion?
Yeah, the broadcast order really helped the first season with being such an excellent thing to watch unfold. It's good to see you enjoyed it!The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Part VI
Bwahahaha. Kyon has no shame.
But, yeah. That was freaking epic. And... Melancholic?Kyon and Haruhi discussing how they feel about the "real" world... While huge scary-ass monsters loom in the background destroying everything... And then start coming towards them.
And then, Kyon has his usual internal dialogue discussingSo...what Haruhi means to him...And dat music!YES!
...
*Cue OP*
Freaking awesome.
I'm 100% satisfied. I liked literally all the characters in this, and I want more. I feel like that may be my ruin, though.
Now imagine how Yuki feels.

Yeah, I found the way the shading and lighting was handled really helped to give it a sense of depth which really stood out when it was animated. These are actually some of my favorite aspects to Slope's visual style. Such a great show when viewed in the correct (broadcast) order! Glad you liked it!
It was a troll to get us to like Disappearance. It worked!

I personally think KyoAni thought that since their daring move with the broadcast order in S1 worked so well (and I'd agree it was pretty brilliant), they'd do something even more daring. Shame they pissed half at least half their fanbase like that. I was personally fine with it,

It's a visual style that hasn't really been attempted much in anime, so it's understandable that it could be a divisive issue. I think it looks great a lot of the time, and it allows the cels and background to meld together in a way that is unusual for hand-drawn animation. It places more importance on lighting and composition in guiding the eyes to the characters, but thankfully they have a staff that understands that anyway.
Has anyone watched Eureka Seven AO 1?
So Apollon
Is this gonna just become one of those music animes but "why jazz is awesome!"?
I'll cool with that.
This show does make me wanna rewatch my favorite romcom ever.

Even though I liked the live action better... Nodame is so adorable![/QUOTE]
Indeed, Nodame is in fact one of my most favourite anime ever.
I love the attention to detail and the accurate portrayal of different elements of music and things like the universities.
Kinda makes me melancholy sometimes though. Wish I was better at piano and I could be part of the same world ;_;
It seems more like a show about people who enjoy music and are brought together by it than it is just about the music itself, but I don't know how things play out.So Apollon

Duckroll watched it.. and he liked it!Has anyone watched Eureka Seven AO 1?

I will admit, it was fun watching it live and seeing the horrible realization dawn on everyone by the time the third repeat rolled around.
Those were quite the two months, let me tell you.
I think only Duckroll so far, iirc he was impressed with the first episode.
This is a good thing. I felt like it had a fair amount of music though. Not an overwhelming amount, but the pause between pieces makes each stand out more.Well, the first episode barely had any music, so it's obviously character-focused so far.
Nodame is the only time a live action Japanese work is superior to anime/manga.
Hana Yori Dango
only one way to find out!So, is this actually connected to the previous series, or a re-imagining like the movie?
So, is this actually connected to the previous series, or a re-imagining like the movie?
Hmm...
If we're only counting the 1st season, then yes. The 2nd season of the dorama was awful with how they tried to patch events together that they'd already skipped or shortened from the 1st season.
Really gave off a sense of depth that pulled you into the frame. Adding into the tone apt color palatte, and the 'softness' of the characters, it all just came together to provide this whole I found quite impressive. I wish I could articulate it better than I am.
BL is pretty infectious.Sentarou's scar actually looks like I could feel it if I touched the screen.
The endless repetition continues.Imagine reliving the last two weeks of this thread 15,536 times.
What if we already have?
It can't be worse than Upotte, can it?
In any case, fight through the pain, Ultimadrago and all other victims of Mad Pierrot.
Upotte!! has 10 episodes. TEN. And at least Upotte!! is novel. Sengoku girls has already been done! And exactly one year ago no less!

This is so dumb and I can't get enough. :lol @ her use of mobile suit names.

I must say it's quite amazing when it's animated!I keep seeing the nose and mouth between the eyes in that shot as I keep thinking the nose is the mouth.
That better include Marimite and Giant Killing! If I watch it, it's not connected, and suffer depression because of it, I'm challenging you to a duel, Wonzo. The loser has to watch some pre-sankarea DEEN show.
