I'm really annoyed by Haru constantly whining, complaining, and angsting throughout the episode. Holy crap and I thought Shu was bad. I'm fine with angsty main characters as long as their angsting is justified, like Shinji. Shinji's life is a mess, he's dad not helping by being a major asshole, I can understand even if I don't like it. Haru's whining because his avatar's not kakkoii enough? Get out.

Kannazuki no Miko 1
lol, this is exactly how I remembered it. Unfortunately, I could not understand the concept of glorious yuri before, hence why I dropped this after one episode. Now I can truly appreciate the understated brilliance of girls drinking tea in a secret garden. *Fastens on yuri goggles*
Dat KOTOKO ED is as good as ever. I like how the "animation" is a lazy slideshow of a yuri Himeko x Chikane pic. Subtle, if I missed the numerous blushes when Chikane

Visual entertainment was better when people just had to sit their and watch it, or leave. The ability of viewers to pause, stop, retastart or fast-froward through segments destroys the meaning which the director and his or her team have strived to create.
Watch Strawberry Panic, and they'll go nuclear, then!

Yami is a plot-centric show. It's very well thought out.

The best part of these arcs, you can go back and rewatch them at your leisure without it feeling like a chore.[Gintama 214]
A great arc with a great ending. These short-arcs are so efficient, it's impressive how much they can do in five episodes.
Unlike nearly every other arc in Gintama the protagonists, antagonists and supporting players were all characters from the show, including people from minor episodes It wasn't just fanservice either - it tied into the story. This made made the action far weightier than normal, because we weren't just dealing with characters created solely for this arc, for the most part at least.
I assume these two are going to go out and form a 80's hair club preservation society -
There was one scene in the arc I found was simply done, yet very effective.
When Otose was laying in the hospital bed she looked so frail, I couldn't at first figure out why. On my second watch through it hit me, her makeup was gone. Surprising how the omission of such a detail can change the perception of a character.
It's true that Kannazuki goes off the deep end, at least more than Panic does, but I remember the actual yuri quotient being higher in Strawberry Panic. So basically, you should watch Strawberry Panic when you finish Kannazuki!

But it's five seasons of the definitive yuri series! You should be crying with joy. And it's only 4 seasons, anyway.
I must say, that's a pretty spot on summary of the first episode.

So how does it compare to the original Cutie Honey?
From what I've seen of the original, Re: is a lot more frenetic, nudity isn't as classy, and it's very flashy. It reminded me a lot of Panty and Stocking, even though it predates it.
Now I have to see the live action Cutie Honey!

I really enjoyed the first episode. I love the idea of making the female lead taller than the male and using their complexes to create a bond between the two.
