Something has to counterbalance all of the recent shows with crappy yuri under(?)tones. If it has to be a classy Watanabe helmed show with yaoi undertones, so be it.

There have been a fair number of recent shows with yaoi elements of varying degrees (Tiger and Bunny, Natsume, even Gintama). They sell very well to the fujoshi.

Fate/Zero 5:

Okay, I'm sold. This shit ranks ridiculously high on the shounen fighting awesome scale. The level of awesome is only barely being contained at this point, and the story has only just gotten started. The next episode is looking like more talking and stuff though and less ridiculously awesomely animated fighting sequences.

LOL at Caster mistakenly believing Saber to be
Joan of Arc
, not King Arthur. This only made sense because I had checked Wikipedia after episode 2 to find out who Caster really was, of the various historical figures manifested as each Servant, the only one who I couldn't easily and immediately identify was the oddly named Bluebeard, who is actually supposed to be Gilles de Rais.

Am watching apollon for dozens of yaoi money shots.

One Piece 3

I had 3 main problems with this episode:

1. Luffy is incredibly annoying, Zoro should just kill him and take over the main character position. Starting a fight just to show that Coby wasn't his friend was stupid, especially when it didn't even work. Also, I want to punch his face every time I see it, but that's just an unfortunate side effect of Oda's art, so I won't hold it against him. Also, how can fucking rubber stop bullets?

2. If the Grand Line is in the center of the one continent in the world, why is it such a big deal to get to it? Why do you need a special map? This seems like such an obvious error or mistake I feel sure I'm missing something, I'm not really holding this against the series.

3. I forgot what this was going to be, oh well.

The good stuff:

Zoro is still a bro

That random marine was also a bro

Oh dear if you’re having trouble now, your head will explode when you see their phones.

Grandline thing gets explained later.

Spring sucks

you guys ready for Summer?

Will watch.

Moyashimon Returns
Tari Tari (I have a good feeling about this)
Natsuyuki returns
Rinne S2.

There's always potential announcements we have yet to hear about! could be a good season.

Crunchyroll is getting ready to announce their streaming lineup for this season, and to start they've listed their continuing shows. Nothing surprising - they'll be streaming Fate/Zero again - but I thought it was worth noting that it basically confirms Poyopoyo will continue for at least one more cour. In case anyone was worried about it.

Yeah, and since it is Watanabe, i'm just assuming it'll be classy.

Knowing how many volumes there are to this manga, and how many eps the anime is getting really makes me wonder how faithful it'll be. On the flip-side, being classy about it could mean that the BL's delved into a bit more than it would be being a classless fujoshi wrapping. I'm almost tempted to believe that, given Watanabe's penchant for tactful characterization.

Unfortunately its not :( Neither is Korra.

You obviously aren't worthy of being saved.

Cool. I'll update the OP as the announcements roll in.

I, for one, was on tenterhooks.

The problem with Rinne is that there is too much Lan and not enough Muginami.

No no, the problem with Rinne is that the story and characters are not interesting. The 'plot' has no weight or gravity to it and I don't care what happens to the characters.
Hey, an anime based on karuta poems!

We're going deeper.
Kanon 2002
Air
Kanon 2006
Clannad
Clannad: After Story
Angel Beats

That was off the top of my head. You're welcome.

Your encyclopaedic knowledge of KEY is truly an asset to the species as a whole.

Air: The Motion Picture
Clannad: The Motion Picture

Are missing from that list but maybe that was the point...

because the Clannad movie kinda sucks. Don't know about Air though.

Edit: beaten.

Kaiba 1

It was a smart choice to introduce us to this mysterious and confusing world through the viewpoint of someone who is just as confused as we are. Kaiba is a blank slate non-character who lets himself be shuffled around by other people, but because we as viewers are in the same situation it is possible to sympathize with him. The mysteries surrounding him, the locket and the rings, are compellingly presented.

I think that the locket works especially well as a plot device because it is so simple and understandable (even if what it reveals is unclear) which contrasts nicely with some of the more complicated and intangible themes of the series (memory, identity etc).

K-On! Ep. 5

For better or worse, I'm watching more K-On!.

So that's what yuri goggles look like.

-_-;

On another note, I was starting to believe that Yui had the same voice actress as Nodame, but apparently they do not.

K-ON is truly the best self aware show about absolutely nothing. It is meticulously crafted
as a product selling supermachine while appearing to be merely an innocent show about moe waifus.

I just hope Apollon doesn't become a show with huge yaoi undertones like i've head people telling me.

I don't hate it, but it's definitely just not my thing is all.

A little brolust never hurt nobody. Except maybe people who watched NO6.

Isn't it so awesome it makes you want to march over to the nearest retailer and lay down 400 clams for that oh so pretty box? Look at it. Its so shiny and Aniplexy!

I understand that good things tend to happen to dogs in movies.

I understand that bad things also happen to good dogs.

It makes no sense to call himself that when
he has no beard.

Especially since Bluebeard is better known as the name of an infamous pirate from a different historical period. Well, whatever, I know who he is, and more to the point, he confirms his identity to Saber directly at the beginning of the next episode. Which brings me to:

Fate/Zero 6:

You know a series has you in it's thrall when nearly an entire episode is spent on characters talking at each other and yet it seems to fly by and it's over before you even realize it. Saber's yuri lover is a pretty good driver though, she was totally winning at Ridge Racer there. It turns out that being a serial killer of children will get you noticed in any age, whether it's the medieval Europe that Gilles de Rais inhabited or the fictionalized 1990's that he is reborn as Caster in.

The entire Nasuverse occurs roughly in the same world or at least parallel versions of it, so while KnK is an entirely separate story featuring entirely unrelated characters, the overall structure of the world is similar. Therefore it makes sense that mages of all sorts in this world share a common obsession with reaching the Root, the origin of all things. This is an obession that both Tohsaka Tokiami and Araya Souren share. KnK's corner of the Nasuverse is on the periphery of the world of mages, the only mages seen were either on the run from the Mages Association or chasing mages on the run, but the Holy Grail War exists in the center of the world of mages and so non-mages are the exception rather than the rule here.
