My advice is to watch them 4,5,1,2,3,6. Watching the prequels first ruins the Darth Vader reveal although most people have heard that spoiler as part of pop culture but still. Watching it in that order makes 1,2 and 3 like long flashbacks before you have Vader's redemption in 6.

That's a hell of a way to kill the momentum going from Empire to Jedi.

Well, you would have seen AOTC not long before it. Whatever drop in quality between Empire and Jedi would be overshadowed by watching fucking AOTC after Empire.

I say gross. Original order or burst.

Dont know, i feel the battle in 6 would seem more emotional after seeing the prequels. And the appreciation for 7 would be through the roof.

And then they'd never want to watch another Star Wars movie again. Do the right thing folks. Watch in release order if you have to watch the prequels.

Ive found new Starwars viewers dont mind the prequels and find ep4 boring. Especially kids.

Or watch them 4,5,6 then wait for 7

same here. well, not the Ep4 boring part.. But yeah, take the "hardcore fan" out of the viewer and most are totally fine with the prequels... 99% of the hate comes from diehards.

Not to say they aren't heavily flawed.. absolutely. but people enjoy them the same way the enjoy transformers and such.

The Ep7 teasers though.. glad to see some more prestige being brought back to the series. :D

So, with people I know through social media and irl, the majority seem to love the trailer! However that same group are a bit divisive when comes to the BvS teaser.

Looks like the new Battlefront game will have a TFA tie-in:

"Battlefront" will also include a free downloadable level available two weeks before "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opens in theaters Dec. 18. It's set on Jakku, the battle-scarred desert planet glimpsed in "Force Awakens" teasers. The expansion, dubbed "Battle of Jakku," will explore the moment following "Return of the Jedi" when the New Republic confronted Imperial holdouts on the previously unseen Outer Rim enclave.

"You never get to see it in the new movie, so it was this brilliant opportunity to recreate the Battle of Jakku, which you only see the remnants of in the movie," said Bach. "In the game, you actually get to play the Battle of Jakku. It's the same place from the new movie but 30 years earlier."

Guess that confirms the name "New Republic" is still a thing.

Watching the trailer after about 15 times it appears to me that Boyega's character is still the lead and Daisy is already trained in the force and sort of guiding him through the picture.

He is the lead in the same sense Ford was a lead. Daisys character looks to be the continuation of the skywalker family, thus the main story focus.

For anyone asking, watch them in chronological release. It doesn't make sense to do it otherwise. And you'll be so burnt out after having to sit through 1,2, and 3 that the hopefully better 7 will knock you off your socks.

Also, check out the most updated versions of the Despecialized Editions. They are superb.

I put the hi-res stills from the trailer the Disney provided (4K and IMAX formats) into an imgur album for anyone interested.

Just a theory, but what do you think the possibility of the orange-ish hands giving "Leia" the lightsaber are actually an Ugnaught's hands? If anyone found Luke/Anakin's saber in Cloud City, it would've been them.

when were they updated?

If the prequels had never happened that trailer would have gotten me jumping up and down hyped.

But I can't get the prequels out of my head. I guess that means they really ruined Star Wars for me :(.

I really like the idea of a possible Empire remnants turning into something else, and the galaxy being divided.

Would be a neat twist to have the Rebellion's new regime be more of a tactical stronghold and power hungry, whereas the remnants of the Empire being a democracy.

Not seeing that from the trailers, but it would be a real cool twist.

The concept of a movie ruining another one seems utterly silly to me.

It's not like they even look similar in style.
