I might do that sometimes or double dip on a game I already have occasionally but to be exclusive to Steam? That's worth a chuckle or two.Speaking of which I find it weird that people are willing to pay extra just to have games on steam lol.

EA is doing what Valve did all those years ago. The only difference is that Origin now is better than Steam was back then.

Need help. Bioshock 1 says the exe has stopped working. I tried to reinstall and it still happens.
I had that with Overlord a few days ago. I was able to verify the files and it found I was missing 17 files. Fixed the problem for me.
Put it on vista service pack 2 and it works now.
Prison Tycoon is an actual game... the fuck. Why?
Why not? There are prison tycoons in the real America, since much of the prisons in use are privately owned businesses.
Ever wonder why so many Americans are in jail? There is an industry that profits from it, so they lobby the government to pass laws and set policies putting more people in jail.

I love the concept, it's a perfect fit for the simulation genre. I've played Prison Tycoon 2, though, and it's pretty terrible. I'd love to see a decent developer take a shot at something like that.
I meant why would anyone want to play a game about it...
Do they have Forced Labor Camp tycoon?
Speaking of which I find it weird that people are willing to pay extra just to have games on steam lol.
Well, I often do that, because I can afford to do so. Not every time, but when I make exceptions, the games have to be DRM free - Humble Bundles, The Witcher 2, Gray Matter, etc.
I really don´t think it´s that weird to pay a little bit extra to get the product on a service that you´re comfortable with. If you just see Steam as a download service, then I might understand your view, but I see it as something more.
I enjoy the benefits of steam and if theres a good reason to go steam I will but if really the only difference is the timer or something then I usually go with whatever is the cheapest price.
Kinda sucks that some of my favorite sim/tycoon games aren't on Steam. Most are even just borderline Facebook games as opposed to the deep ones.
Beach Life is a great resort tycoon by Eidos, but definitely unheard.
Zoo Tycoon 1 and 2 are a miss. With the recent appearance of Age of Empires III in Steam it makes me wonder if ZT will make it.
Theme Hospital is a much accepted entry over Hospital Tycoon.
SimGolf, goodness... SimGolf.
It depends. If the game is on Steam, then it will reach that price eventually. Good example is Batman: Arkham City. It was on sale at half off on Origin just two days after it came out. Some posters were ridiculed for saying they'd pass for the Steam version, but sure enough, it ended up at that same price a month later during the holiday sale. The benefits of owning a game on Steam are obvious, so it's no shock that some people are willing to wait it out just to own it there. We have enough games to play until then.
I really think it's quite sad that some people in this thread will not buy ME3 because it's Origin only. EA is doing what Valve did all those years ago. The only difference is that Origin now is better than Steam was back then.
I don't understand denying yourself a game you'll enjoy because it doesn't have the DRM you want it to have.

The funny thing EA have been in DD client business since 2005, you would think 7 years would be enough for a company to get it together. If your really considering year by year progress, Steam pretty much still has the upper hand.
In all honesty the only way you would get me running Origin if Mirrors Edge 2 was released only for Origin.
The difference between what Origin is and what Steam was is that There wasn't an alternative to Steam that trumped it in almost every way. And in terms of DRM, yeah it sucks but if I have to take it, I might as well take it in the place I like.I really think it's quite sad that some people in this thread will not buy ME3 because it's Origin only. I'd rather have all my stuff in one place, otherwise I'll end up buying games twice.
It's not that hard to keep track of, really. I bought games from Direct2Drive, Impulse/GameStop, Gamersgate, GOG, Green Man Gaming, GetGames, various Indie Bundles (not all of which offer steam keys) and of course Steam. I only screwed up once with the original Stalker, which I bought from both Gamersgate and Impulse.I'd rather have all my stuff in one place, otherwise I'll end up buying games twice.

I can't even keep track of my shit on Steam.
"According to our records, you already own some of the above items on Steam. You can purchase these items as a gift or adjust the contents of your cart to continue."
This has happened many times.

When the hell is Alan Wake coming to Steam? How could you guys tease me that way and then leave me waiting and doubting? ;__;
Tiny Bang Story is the steam daily @ 75% off ($2.49). It's a short but neat puzzle game, definitely recommend it at that price.
This. Except for me it's not "sometimes", it's "all the time". I open up my list of games on Steam, find one I like, install and play. It's also about stuff like--sometimes I don't know what to play so I just look at my list. If I have to go rooting around to find games, they won't be considered there.
-Sonic CD is coming "very soon" according to The Taxman (creator of the Retro Engine).
-Sonic Generations - Casino Night Pinball DLC is coming this week according to Amazon. It'll be out on January 19th for $1.59.
I guess we'll see what happens this week. Maybe we'll also get Sonic 4. =\
Does anyone know if the Dead Space 1/2 Amazon editions activate on Steam? I want to get one of them with my $5 voucher, but I have a Steam obsession.

Can I register this retail game on steam?

First of all, Origin isn't competing with Steam as it was back then. It's competing with Steam the way it is now.I really think it's quite sad that some people in this thread will not buy ME3 because it's Origin only. EA is doing what Valve did all those years ago. It's not just about DRM. It's about the features and account terms that these services have, and the trust you have in the companies that run them, and EA lags far behind.I don't understand denying yourself a game you'll enjoy because it doesn't have the DRM you want it to have.
