I can't be 100% certain of the online order page online but my original order confirmation email listed the release date as October 16th.

I just checked my order confirmation email and there's no date listed in it. Now you have me worried that they screwed me over and put my order in the slow lane even though they assured me that it was just a cosmetic issue.

Got my shipping confirmation the other day. Steam says it's shipping on the 16th. FedEx said it should ship yesterday and arrive tomorrow but only shows it as "label created" still.

Has anyone's controller actually shipped yet? It seems like most people, myself included, have had their shipping label created, but has anyone got confirmation that their controller is actually on the truck and on the way?

Mine hasn't moved at all (only says the label was created) since Wednesday. Praying to Gaben we see movement today or the dream is dead getting them tomorrow.

It's strange though, since people are getting emails yesterday/today about getting them Saturday, so I am still
hopelessly
optimistic.

Yep mine has been sitting on the label message for days. I'm losing hope that we'll get it by tomorrow.

DICE game? Are their games different than others in a way that would affect the controller?


Back on topic, I really want to play Battlefront with the Steam Controller, but the beta ends a day before I get mine.

Wow, sorry, I read the release date wrong. Canada is confusing sometimes. :| November something or other.

It would seem not. I'm expecting mine to ship around Monday and arrive on Thursday/Friday.

Thankfully I live very close to the Parcel Force depot so mine should arrive around 9am on whichever day it gets here :)

Well in truth I was referring to how Battlefield controller players will get absolutely wrecked against a KB+M player on pc. (Whereas COD, Titanfall level the playing field.)

I want to see if the Steam controller can close that FPS skill gap. I don't think CS:GO is a good example to compare a before and after because I don't think that many people use a controller there to begin with. However I do know people who regularly attempt to use one in Battlefield because of driving vehicles. I'd like to know if the Steam one improves their game.

Same here, it's a normal question.

Am currently playing the beta on PC with an Xbox controller. Unlike TItanfall that has built in aim assist, battlefront doesn't so I'm not able to be as effective in most 1v1 fights. I generally round out the lower half of our team, and found myself going fairly negative (I think that's also just me rushing around like a moron) but I don't know how accurate of a picture that paints since top scorers are often so lopsided.

I think it would really help me lead my shots, maybe adding in gyro controls or in just straight using the right trackpad.

I am an employee at GameStop and checked tonight to finally confirm that YES, you will get Steam codes for Rocket League and Portal 2 on your receipt when you pick up a Steam Link, Steam Controller, or Steam Machine that you pre-ordered.

This picture is a page printed from GS's "WebInStore" which is a site we have on our POS systems that allows us to order items online for a customer and have it shipped to them. It also has a ton of product info.

Edit: There was also a page stating that if you pre-ordered from June 1 to June 22, you get to pick up the hardware starting NEXT WEEK just like those who first pre-ordered through Steam!!! That, to me, is way more exciting tbh.

There's going to be a lot of upset people tomorrow. Your Steam Controllers aren't going to show up on Saturday. Unless FedEx tracking shows actual progress beyond label created, don't get your hopes up.

"Anticipated Ship Date" is vastly different from an actual ship date and the estimated ship date listed as Saturday is only there had the controller been shipped on they day it said it was.

Fortunately Parcel Force always deliver super early in the morning for us. Amusingly they're one of the most reliable carriers I've ever used, lol.

But now you've said that, I'm going to be the last delivery now :p

Darn it. Mine shipped today (label was created), but FedEx says no delivery until Tuesday (10/13).

Oh well... first world problems I suppose :)

FedEx told me the anticipated ship date would be today, but I don't know if that actually happened.

I ordered an Alienware Steam Machine this past Wendsday from Gamestop in store and to my surprise I can pick it up this upcoming Friday the 16th when I checked my reservation through the website.

My guess is that stores were allocated so many early bird units and some stores saw no interest. I hope this isn't a mistake on their end cause I am hyped for Friday.

If anybody wants a controller Friday, I would urge you to check out your local Gamestop and see what they tell you the release date for the controller is. Although I cannot grantee that they did not goof this up somehow.

Funny enough they had no idea what a Steam Machine was.
