Hey guys, all the Quake games are 50% off too. I've been waiting for Quake 2 to go on sale so woot!

(They never use these in the daily deals or flash deals from what I've saw.)

If you can wait, during August QuakeCon hits, and all of the id games have pretty significant discounts. I'm looking to get the whole Quake collection and I'm holding out till then.

Keep in mind that some of these games could end up being flash or daily deals, so if you go ahead and buy them now, you will possibly miss out on better prices as early as later today.
Do flash deals usually end up as cheaper dailys?

A reminder that, in addition to Far Cry 3, the rest of the FC series are also 75% off. That means FC3: Blood Dragon for $3.75!

Awesome thread, thanks OP!

I discovered so many great (& cheap!) games during last year's sale and I hope to find more of their ilk this time around! :)

The Quake collection is only $15, but I really appreciate the heads up. I may just wait as well.

Based on what I've seen in past sales, a good rule of thumb seems to be that if a game's "regular" discount is more than 75%, then the game is not a likely candidate for Flash/Daily/Community sales, unless it's part of a bundle or an ongoing series. So something like Archon Classic (90% off) probably isn't going to be a part of the timed sales, while Hate Plus (66% off) is much more likely to appear in the timed sales at some point.

Whatever you do don't buy Rekoil. I bought it on release and thought it had a promising start (which a few patches could fix) but the devs have basically abandoned it and it's dead as a dodo. It never really took off and quite frankly it should be removed from Steam. Don't waste your money.

Magical Drop V - $0.89
Retro/Grade - $0.99
Super Puzzle Platformer Deluxe - $1.99
Super House of Dead Ninjas - $1.74
Super House of Dead Ninjas: True Ninja Pack - $0.74
Soundodger+ and Soundtrack - $2.49
Retro City Rampage - $2.49
PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX+ All You Can Eat Edition -$3.74

I want to get these, but the urge to wait for dallies is strong. I doubt the first two will go any cheaper, but what are the odds on the rest? Any of them not worth buying? Thanks!

Gray Matter - 3,99€

Edit for new page:

A suggestion: Remove Insecticide from that list.

It's only half the game, and the other half was never released on PC. It's literally cut in half.
And even if had been complete, it really really isn't a good game.
And it's not bad in a funny way, like Bad Rats. It's just bad.

Popcap games, cheapest they've ever been on Steam from what I can tell:
Bookworm Deluxe - $2.49 (-50%)
Bookworm Adventures Deluxe - $2.49 (-50%)
Bookworm Adventures Volume 2 - $2.49 (-50%)
Peggle Deluxe - $2.49 (-50%) (free on Origin right now)
Peggle Nights - $2.49 (-50%)
Peggle Complete - $4.49 (-50%)
Zuma Deluxe - $2.49 (-50%)
Zuma's Revenge - $2.49 (-50%)

Also in no particular order:
Velocity Ultra Deluxe - $4.19 (-70%) (The store page is weird - no discount on the base game or soundtrack alone, only a discount on the Deluxe with both)
They Bleed Pixels - $2.49 (-75%)
Antichamber - $5.99 (-70%) (Potential for daily/community choice as it's been one over the last couple of sales, but the steeper discount says perhaps not?)
Kairo - $1.49 (-70%)

Still Life 1-2 plus Post Mortem 75% off/4.99 USD for the whole collection.

It's been ages since I played any of Still Life (but I still remember that fucking cake puzzle,) but I remember enjoying it.

This exact bundle is 2.99 for steam keys on IndieGala Shop, or 0.99 for Still Life 1 on its own.

Based on what I've seen in past sales, a good rule of thumb seems to be that if a game's "regular" discount is more than 75%, then the game is not a likely candidate for Flash/Daily/Community sales, unless it's part of a bundle or an ongoing series. Yeah, that's not a terrible rule. I mean, I purchased a bunch of stuff today myself, but I did it in part because I've been buying on Steam sales since 2008 and I have a really finely honed sense of the kind of stuff that's selected for sales, so I am not worried about my likelihood of being wrong. I think in general 75%+ stuff is not likely to get a steeper discount. But one of the reasons why a lot of us are really gung ho about telling people to wait is because waiting 10 days isn't going to kill anyone if they've waited 2 years or whatever in the past, and in the mean time a LOT of people used to complain in sale threads when they bought too early and got burned.

Holy crap, can Velvet Assassin possibly go down any more than that? Besides that though, these hidden deals are pretty good. They'd be impulse purchases for a weaker willed person.

Incredibly low. Most daily deals are for AAA/AA Games and well-known indie titles. Even if they did, literally most of the games on your list would result in what literally be pennies worth of savings.

This is how I look at it:

75% off or higher, buy it now.

If the unlikely occurrence of a bought item dropped in price lower then 75% it's going to be pennies, anything labeled 50% is most likely going to see a daily deal, if anything was missed by the last day I buy what's missing.

How's the PC version of Manhunt? Does it run well? Does it have controller support native, or is it too old?

I loved it on PS2, would totally play a quality PC port

It's pretty rough around the edges and has issues with modern OSes (even mentioned on the store page). There's workarounds but don't go in expecting to not get your hands dirty tinkering with the engine.

Minimum's 50% off. It's a blend of MOBA and third person shooter with tons of in-game unlocks and classes. It's a steal at $9.99. Human Head Studios took over development after Timegate shut down last year.

Minimum's Steam page.
