Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

I'm holding out for the Quake Collection to reduce in price slightly. I don't think that's going to be the case ;(

There'll be a QuakeCon sale (well, a Bethesda publisher sale, really) in August. id's back catalogue is unlikely to be made a featured deal (if the sale has any such deals at all), but the general sale discount may be higher the current one.

Unlikely Quake will be on sale within the pack. I own all of the ID software's titles except this Quake collection and Commander Keen. I'll most likely buy it as I'll have the complete set then.

id's games are discounted during the sale, too. There's no harm in waiting; at the absolute worst, the discount will be the same.

Debating on Westerado for this hour and change. Any good? Replayability?

I played it the other day. It's fun, it took me a couple of hours to play through the main quest and watch the credits but I left plenty of sidequests and other stuff unfinished. It will probably be good for at least 2 more playthroughs.

We are performing server maintenance right now.
Please come back in a few minutes to start a new game.

My dreams of jumping into a level multi-million+ Monster Game are dashed.

If everyone had one game they would label a MUST HAVE from the sale, what would it be?

I wanna see if there's anything I don't already have that I should pick up before it ends.

EDit: Also JaseC I keep thinking your avatar is Kurt Cobain or Mitch Hedberg.

That's going to be all but impossible to answer, accounting for taste. I just picked up Tomb Raider 2013 for $3.99, if you don't have that and like TPS maybe that's a good buy for you?

I'd nominate Styx, but it's not a featured deal, so Ori it is.

Haha, not quite. ;)

Insurgency

I bought it for $5 from the Humble Summer Sale and it's the best multiplayer FPS I've played. I'm terrible at COD and Battlefield because they're so fast paced and have all these perks and killstreaks that punish bad players and reward good players. It's very lopsided. Insurgency puts everyone on an even footing and as long as you play carefully and watch your corners you will do relatively well. Plus it's open to the modding community so there will be tons of community maps as time goes on.

Also it's $3.74.

Thanks for the response. I'll resist the urge to buy it now and just wait for it the next time around. I've already purchased over 10 games this sale, so I have plenty to go through, as well as so many other backlog games. It's a sickness, as you all well know.

If you like strategy and don't mind not sleeping: Civilization V Complete.
Diplomacy (and the manual) could be better and I think Civ1 and Alpha Centauri's techtree were more complex (might be wrong it's been a long time) but - it's a timevampire game. They be good, if unhealthy.

Or X-COM. Less timevampire, more actiony fun and more cursing the sure-miss 99% hitchance.

Ori and The Blind Forest.

I would buy Ori, but I don't really like 2D platformers all that much..

If you play Ori and dislike it, you might as well not play any other 2D platformer ever again. You can always refund it!

For what its worth, the lore and music really reminded me of the ATLA world for some reason.

Dishonored for 3,74€ is a veeeery good deal. The game has an awesome artstyle and great gameplay. If you are remotely into stealth games, go for it! :)

Caved in and bought Super Time Force Ultra at the very last moment. Combined with a sale on battle.net, where I bought StarCraft II Wings of Liberty and Legacy of the Void, I bought quite a lot of games recently. Combining that with my gigantic backlog, I probably shouldn't buy much (except, like, Batman and something for my 3DS when I'm travelling) during the summer.

Great sale, overall! See you when the Autumn one comes ;)

Great sale. Finally played and finished Ori and Life is Strange (or what's been released of it, at least), two new games for my faves list.

My dumb ass went to take a shower and by the time I got back the Steam sale was over.

Thanks for recommendations though y'all, I'll keep it in mind for the next sale.

39 games for ¥1224, not bad.

I couldn't decide on which actual game to buy before the sale ended so I sorted by lowest price.. lol. ; w ;

Girlfriend gifted me Grim Dawn, I didn't pull the trigger on anything.

Was close to getting Car Mechanic Sim and Darkest Dungeon but decided not to.

That was probably the least amount of money I have ever spent during a Steam sale.

I guess my wallet is thankful, but otherwise that was very disappointing.
