Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

Thanks.

Wow....so the purpose of this game is to click monsters until they die or you get carpal tunnel? Amazing...it's they distilled Diablo into it's purest form.
If you upgrade the auto-fire canon and advanced targeting, you can just be idle and you'll kill them slowly. Your armor piercing round doesn't have the same multiplier as your advance targeting, so you'll never do as much damage as the auto-fire.

So I was about to buy Dead Rising 3 when I noticed a fair amount of reviews saying the game is poorly optimized for PC. That genuinely worries me. Does anyone know if this stuff has been patched, or if people are overreacting maybe?
The game ran perfectly fine for me last year on a i5-3570K with a AMD 7950.

All of my games in the wishlist are slashed 50% and higher. This is my first steam sale... so this is how it feels to be a PC gamer. I'll hold off for now and follow sage GAF advice: buy when daily sale, wait when summer sale.

Your first Steam Sale is always the best and the one you will most fondly remember.

Mirrors edge was a daily deal at $10, then flash deal at just over $5.

Is this how the sales work? That's some fucked up sales. I won't know when to buy stuff in case it gets cheaper 12 hours later. I thought flash and daily deals were the real thing and other sales were the ones you should hold off on.

It was a flash both times, and it was less than 12 hours before it changed to the correct price. It's advised you hold off on purchasing. Same thing happened for Papers, Please and another game. If you pulled the trigger and saw the game at a cheaper price afterward, you could ask for a refund and rebut it at the cheaper cost.

Flash is the real thing, it just seems to be really slow in updating fully.

For you.

Not at all. It wasn't a daily deal. It was always the same flash deal. It just so happens that due to a bug the intended price didn't kick up on time.

Oh it was flash both times? So this is more an error than standard? It's my first Steam sale so I'm new to all this.

GAFfers should also check out www.isthereanydeal.com for historical prices.

As you can see, Dark Souls has been cheaper in the past, so it's likely the game will go on sale in the coming days.

Yeah. It and a few others didn't show the correct discount for whatever reason. It was under the flash section, which is instant buy, so I can see why you're a bit, "wow, what," over it.
I'd just wait a little while before jumping gun, I guess. Or use a site like isthereanydeal to see if it's been cheaper before, before buying. If you bought a game and it was cheaper later, like I said, refund. Issue with that is refunds can take up to 7 days.

So....Halo: Spartan Assault is basically Smash TV with a Halo skin? Is it any good?

It's more like a dual joystick shooter; with levels and progression. It lacks checkpoints midlevel, and some levels are long and tedious. I stopped playing because of that.

Look into Renegade Ops instead. That game rules and is better designed.

Forgot that game was on PC. Reminded me of Jackal. Added to the list.

Final boss in Ziggurat is a little BS.

Dude just spawns mountains of shit and floods the screen in projectiles you can't really see (like objects that fall from the sky)

Every time KOF XIII goes on sale, I contemplate buying it. Then I remember I don't play fighting games.

It's sooooo pretty though.

Does anybody know much about how decent Magicite is? The reviews on the store page aren't really helpful to me and I don't really know where to look to find someone who does a good video review on it. I mean it's cheap enough that even if I don't get more than 10 hours out of it, I'll still be happy. :p

Great choices all around (totally mirrors what I picked up)

Ask me about the moon landing or the temperature at which jet fuel burns. You may be surprised at what you learn.
I saw all the sales today and decided to spend my money on Popeyes chicken instead

It was delicious

Anyone figured out the best way to idle the game? Is there any way to auto switch lanes so I could let it run, and still do some work while I'm sleeping?

Quick question. Would Valkyria Chronicles be able to run fine on my laptop? In terms of specs, it's a macbook from 2014 but I have windows 8 on it.
