Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

So I haven't kept up with GTA 5 at all, can I actually do anything with these cards if I'm not planning on playing online? Are people excited due to the resale value of these cards?
I'm pretty sure these are only for online play. Also they'll block your ability to get the game refunded.

Can anyone from UK GAF advise me on the best place to buy a Steam card? I've never had to bother with prepaid stuff before. Is it pretty much a given that I'll be immediately emailed a code?

Valve should really make a first person RPG or action RPG with the summer sale game art and sound style. Mix in some humor, and you'd probably have another great.

If I already own and enjoyed the Metro games, is it worth getting the Redux versions?

2033 has more substantial upgrades than LL in regards to the redux vs vanilla versions, so at least 2033.

Waiting and waiting and waiting. My sale budget is really tight, like less than twenty bucks. Tomb Raider and Dishonored goty are prime wants. Waiting for the dailies...

So I don't know if this has been addressed at all in the steam refunds thread, but is there anything stopping someone from refunding a game (which hasn't been played at all) and rebuying the same game for a cheaper price?

I was emailed my CDKeys one instantly. Not as big a saving on them as before, but still saves a couple of quid.

On an unrelated topic, how does it work if a game is on as a daily deal in a package (in my case Amnesia)? If I only want one of the games, is it safe to assume that it won't go any cheaper, or appear as a single game in a future flash or daily deal?

This is specifically mentioned when refunds were announced as something that is OK.

Refunds are designed to remove the risk from purchasing titles on Steam—not as a way to get free games. If it appears to us that you are abusing refunds, we may stop offering them to you. We do not consider it abuse to request a refund on a title that was purchased just before a sale and then immediately rebuying that title for the sale price.

This mini game is incredibly stupid. And addictive, even if you are fully aware of the basic mechanisms it uses to be addictive.

I have used http://www.cdkeys.com/top-up-cards/steam before without any problems. The code came through quickly.
Ah, thanks you two. I'm not worried about saving any money, I just want to give my credit card a break!

Cy, you still have the best avatar on GAF.

So GTAV got a price hike yesterday by £11.

It was £39.99 as of April 17th , then went up to £51.98 as of June 11th.

I think there were a list of some that upped their prices for the sale. Really disgusting tbh.

Gemini Rue huh? I've been meaning to play it since I got it in 2011 >__>

good game with great setting but the control for the shooting section fucking sucks, made me gave up on it half way through. Don't know why developer feels the need to include shooting mechanic in a PnC

Sorry I know the sale chart but what is the easiest way to determine what "category" a game falls into during a sale.

IE - my whole wishlist is on sale, what is the easiest way to figure if a specific game is a daily deal, flash sale or whatever

I'm surprised at how much better looking and better running Redux is over Metro 2033. I only got 3-4 hours through the game the first run around and that was last year, so it wasn't a big deal to restart the campaign, and I'm glad I did. It feels a lot snappier at 60fps.

I know the rules about sales...but Gemini Rue cant possibly get any cheaper... can it?

At 70% off, it's still within the discount range (0%-74%) where it could possibly appear as a Daily/Flash/Community deal. Plus, the same discount point is also on Primordia and Resonance (and the Blackwell Bundle), and there's a new game called Technobabylon that's also on sale. Gemini Rue's price might go lower if one of those titles becomes a Daily/Flash deal, since it's somewhat related to them.

huh that sounds incredibly out of place.

Looking at the store page again I'm reminded of Face Noir.

And coincidentally enough Zero-Crescent's avatar above my post looks like he just stepped out of these games :D
