Finally going to play Fallout: NV. Stoked. Now the question is Hollow Knight, Salt and Sanctuary, or Hyper Light Drifter?

Hyper Light Drifter is in my opinion the best choice from the 3. The soundtrack alone is the money worth.

Just noticed that there's a Daedalic Summer Bundle 2017 (price in pic is in Canadian, because I'm Canadian), and it looks pretty solid.

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun
The Long Journey Home
Bounty Train
Deponia: The Complete Journey
SKYHILL

5 great games for $58 CDN, or I assume $50 USD.

I was planning to pick up Shadow Tactics for the PS4 since I like physical copies and I was able to get a preorder for the current sale price, but with this bundle, I just might cancel that and pick this up. For $22 more, I could get 4 other seemingly great games. Only thing holding me back is I need to check out The Long Journey Home since I'm not sure if I'll like it.

With the Paypal £5 off deal I'm looking at buying Batman - The Telltale Series and The Walking Dead: A New Frontier and I'm wondering what state they're in? Telltale games are always janky but they usually get considerably better with patches so I'm wondering if they've reached that point yet? I'm a big fan of their work in general so I think this would be a fairly safe buy.

The usual suspects.

Axiom Verge
Momodora IV
Cave Story+ (kinda sorta)
La-Mulana
FEZ (more of a non-linear platformer but still)
Environmental Station Alpha
Toki Tori 2+
VVVVVV
Xeodrifter

if they play la-mulana they will definitely lose their shit when they die sometimes, it's just that it will be figurative instead of literal

or, you know, also on like 75% of the screens in the game

Between subbing to Humble Monthly, less time for gaming, and these sale (haha) prices, I think i'm GOOOOOOD this year.

That said...there's plenty of good deals for games at least two years old- hope folks have fun.

I've been trying to find an RPG with a good leveling system (level up, choose skills, etc.)

Anyone know if Tyranny, Pillars of Eternity, or something else I don't know about would fit this? I've been waiting for the sale to find something.

Anyway, how is Transistor if I wasn't huge into Bastion?

Most of the people who tell me it isn't good go on to mention how much better Bastion is. So you'll probably like it.

Divinity: Original Sin?

Do I really have to reinstall deadly premonition to get the soundtrack I just bought?

No, there's ways around that. About a year ago I wanted to get Fata Morgana's soundtrack on my Macbook (which can't install the game), so I looked into it and apparently you can use a console command in the client to download the soundtrack specifically.

Divinity Original Sin is pretty good in that the abilities have a ton of interactivity with each other.

I like wasteland 2's system as well but others aren't as keen on it

New Vegas has the best mechanical RPG systems of any 3D game I've ever played

Could also check out path of exile

Ok well, now you know and don't have to recommend shady sites like CDKeys anymore with strange disclaimers like "if you're ok with buying on CDKeys". Congratulations!

Yeah because asking if someone is okay with buying from something other than Steam in a FUCKING STEAM THREAD is "strange". You're being a dick just for the sake of being a dick and it's childish.

Why oh why do people still refer to cdkeys as shady? It's been shown time and time again to be a perfectly legit site unlike G2A and others...

Anyway, how is Transistor if I wasn't huge into Bastion?

I thought Bastion was just ok (to the point where I never finished it originally; made a point to go back to it leading up to Transistor coming out) and I love Transistor, so... there's a chance you'll be the same, I guess?!

It always confuses me how a lot of people seem to have really liked Bastion and then just... didn't get into Transistor. I dunno. I just thought everything about it was a huge improvement.

Did I do good?
Zero Escape is the real meat of what I'm getting but I'm a tad worried that I should wait until it gets cheaper around Christmas. But at the same time, I hear 999 and VLR are really fantastic games and I love the Danganronpa and PMD series, so I know at least that Spike Chunsoft has a history of doing great things, and $30 really isn't bad for 2 high quality VNs.

Also some people have been warning me that Trillion is really repetitive.

They're quite different games, I never got far in Transistor but adored Bastion myself

Endless Space 2 is really the only game I wanted to pick up on sale, and of course it's the only one on my list not on sale.

Not quite sure why they feel comfortable selling it at full price when it seems more like an Early Access title in terms of stability and features right now.

I like them about equally but repetitive combat? Transistor has one of the most inventive ability systems around. There's probably thousands of permutations for your load out.

Yeah, I was always kinda bored by Bastion's combat, while Transistor's made me try a lot of different things and was always enjoyable for me.

Not sure where this is coming from but I've used cdkeys loads of times and have nothing but good things to say about their service. Nothing shady about them.

I really enjoyed character development in Pillars. Lots of interesting abilities to experiment with lots of viable builds that feel very different to play. Min-maxers tend to not like it though.

Tyranny has an increase-through-use leveling system. Haven't played it but I've heard it's not that interesting.

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
Torment worth it for someone who didn't like Divinity: Original Sin at all?

I'm surprised you have time to be on the internet. I'm sure there are thousands of people who want to get a photo of that huge chip on your shoulder.

Link me to where people are complaining about credit card fraud on CDKeys.

Cool just keep on recommending sites then and not being responsive to feedback. I'm sure that will turn out well for you.

Why oh why do people still refer to cdkeys as shady? It's been shown time and time again to be a perfectly legit site unlike G2A and others...

Because all of these key resellers are shady when they have crazy low prices?

This just in: snark not allowed on the internet!

Alright if you guys say CDKeys is legit, I'll concede. May apologies to Nogati. Next time, gadget, next time!

How is Fallout 4 and the season pass? I know this game did well when it initially came out however I wasn't sure if I would like it. I enjoyed Fallout 3 but wasn't the biggest fan of Fallout: New Vegas if that helps.

I know plenty of people who bought on CDKeys with no issues at all. And they accept paypal if you fear to put your credit card data there. It seems a very reliable website though.

I can confirm that I didn't have any issues when buying through CDKeys. I just purchased DOOM & Wolfenstein: New Order (Which were in total 9$ cheaper then it was through steam).

That game that must not be named already 80% off? Jesus Christ IFI. Not a bad thing, just a little freaked out how fast they are to put their games on almost free price.
I alwo wanted the Zero Escape games but I'm going to wait until 50% off or better.

I'm trying to use the £5 off Paypal deal but on Steam it shows £20 total? On the previous Paypal page it said I'd save £5 but on the next Steam screen it's still showing £20, is this normal?

EDIT: Worked, showed £20 on Steam but Paypal only took £15.

Did anyone ever play Kentucky Route Zero or Va-11 Hall-A? Any opinions on those two?

VA-11 Hall-A has fantastic atmosphere and music. The writing is a bit uneven but gets better as you get into the story. The gameplay is really simple; it's best to think about it as a Visual Novel with some interactivity. Except your character doesn't actually have dialogue choices, you basically choose the pathways of the story based on what drinks you serve your customers. I think if you like that PC Engine anime vibe, it's definitely worth picking up.

Not sure where this is coming from but I've used cdkeys loads of times and have nothing but good things to say about their service. Nothing shady about them.

I think people consider it "shady" because you're buying the games at prices meant for other markets than your own (due to currency and economic differences). So basically you're giving yourself a discount the developers didn't mean for you to have.

Timedog

good credit (by proxy)
I really enjoyed the game despite the backtracking. The difficulty definitely ramps up quite steeply if you're going for some late game objectives (optional ones especially), but I found it fun and challenging rather than a problem.
