Has anybody played Maia? Looks like my kind of game but some of the user reviews are a bit off-putting. Wondering if the issues have been sorted out through updates.

I'm glad so many people are enjoying those games I gave away. They're dirt cheap but GAF loves games no matter what.

Btw, is System Shock 2 that good? I've been hearing about it for ages and 92 on Metacritic? Damn..

Lol, I entered that Remember Me giveaway with 20 seconds to spare, I would've died laughing if I'd won.

Congrats to the winner, enjoy it!

I'm giving it away for free. Just raffled it off. Check back a few pages. Should be there since no one claim it.

I'm really struggling resisting the urge to not take it, just so that I can install it easily and play it (definitely would not be looking forward to installing it on windows 7 outside of steam with the original disk :p )

Where's the Beat ’em up?

Wow, you guys in Europe get boned so hard when it comes to game prices.
Tell me about it. Years ago, before RU trading and Amazon.com digital became things, me and some fellow Germans from another board used American gifters to make it bearable, and even with tipping it was more than worth it.

Yes it is very good

I paid uh... the equivalent of 30-ish € when it came out.
Pretty sure the € didn't even exist yet =p

And then I bought it again when it was rereleased digitally 15 years later.

Should had mentioned digital release, I was too young to get it new

My wife's been out of town, she's getting back home tonight. So my sale is over. It's been a fun one. It has also been an honor and a privilege to serve in the Red Army. I salute you, comrades!

Whoa, I almost woke up too late for the KOF flash deal. A few more minutes and my body would of said "fuck it" and sleep until the flash sale was over. :D

Now all I need is SFxT (ha!) and all the (worthy) Steam fighting games will be mine!

Payday 2 was already a flash sale. The other two are really highly unlikely to be put on sale.

Rules/Gist of things *please read it is important
- There will be several ways to enter, you can either draw a picture (one catagory), do a dramatic reading or write a fanfiction (the ladder two being grouped together).
- The theme for the artwork will be pin-ups of your favorite video game characters. Hint: Mine is Mistral from Metal Gear. ;) That or you can be creative and draw propaganda for the various teams of the Steam Sale.

- Yes, I am trying to get you to draw porn for me!
- But seriously if you do go for pin-ups, try to keep it appropriate for this site.
- As for the second category the only requirement is that the fan fictions need to be at least 500 words long, aside from that be creative as you want.
- Like last time please PM me when you post you submission, so I don't miss any. Apologizes for any that I missed last time.
- The deadline is until when ever the timer at the bottom of this post runs out.
- My sister will judge the artwork, while some other guy I know on Steam will judge the fanfics/dramatic readings.
- Sister might live stream the selection for the drawings here, though she's not sure yet.
- Will post who won sometime after the deadline and will gift you your prize through Steam.
EDIT: Also Vulcano's Assistant is banned from this giveaway cause he won last time, though you can still draw a sexy pin-up for me if you want, hint, hint. ;P
Also thanks to Chariot with some of the ideas!
And extended deadline by few hours!

It's SFW-ness may vary depending on where you work, so tread cautiously. Enjoy and good steam sale'ing!

wow space engineers looks awesome! does the game have a story or do you just go around fixing stuff?

haha the trailer was awesome

Space Engineers definitely does not have a story yet, and it likely never will. It's more Minecrafty, rather than any kind of designated campaign. Although, the survival component is pretty barebones at this point. You have to gather materials and have limited fuel (unlike creative mode where fuel is unlimited and you can build without materials), but the only real danger is random asteroid showers (and you can disable that, or set the occurrence rate to low when you create a game).

As for what you do in the game, basically there are a number of procedurally generated asteroids, and you mine those asteroids for raw materials and fuel, refine the materials, use those to create construction components (Iron Ore>Iron Ingots>Steel Plate), and then build crazy spaceships, space stations, and contraptions. Not all of the physics is 100% realistic (it doesn't require Kerbel levels of ship building expertise, as long as you have thrusters on the 6 major axes and a gyroscope you can pretty much fly in any direction) but there is still is some impressive physics tech when it comes to things like mass, acceleration, and especially collisions. And there is a lot of cool stuff you can build with the tools you get, and taking advantage of the physics. I'm talking gravity elevators, automated assembly lines, an automated junk scrapper, and some pretty elaborate strip mining setups. Of course this is assuming you have the creativity to design these things (although the game has workshop support, so you can import other people's designs). There's no real goals or objectives at this point though, just build whatever you can think of. If the game is intimidating to you at first, there are a number of quick start options so you can start out with a full space station, or a number of small or large spaceships to get you started.

The best part is that it's updated constantly. The game gets updated every Thursday, and the updates are often pretty significant new features. They are pretty responsive to the community as well.

Edit: If you are on the fence about getting this, check out some youtube videos to see the crazy stuff people have built.
