Could someone please explain how to get this Magika achievement? I've made it Rain and Blizzard like 30 times each in a local vs. game and nothing.
Taken from the official forums, to get the Magicka ticket:

1. Get into a versus match
2. Kill the chests until you get the Rain/Blizzard magick
3. Spam the Rain/Blizzard magick -> You don't need to wait for the previous one to end (tested by myself)
4. Profit

Anyone selling me on Darksiders please? I'd mostly look for a reason why I should play Darksiders instead of Zelda. (Dont mention the theme&artstyle, its not what I mean) Are the puzzles interesting? Good twist to the fighting mechanics? Deep dungeon mechanics?
Terrible puzzles, absolutely some of the worst the adventure genre has ever seen. You can hardly call them puzzles at all really. That's no exaggeration on my part. I am honestly baffled whenever I see praise for the puzzling aspects of this game, which basically amount to "press first switch you see to open next door."

The combat is typical button-mashy God of War-y stuff, with an internal logic that relies on hitboxes which aren't entirely clear by the animations or model of your character. It's something you get used to, but don't go in expecting something as fluid as Bayonetta or Devil May Cry. It's definitely serviceable and the vast majority of it is easy, even with the difficulty ratcheted all the way up.

Dungeons are pretty sparse, and while interesting to look at, don't wind up being too memorable. That's outside of one late-game dungeon which is in itself, outside.

Saying all that, I still recommend it at $5. It's a decent game, one that I'd say would be worthwhile at $20 and below (I would've felt ripped off at full price). The visuals (I know you didn't want them mentioned! but they must be) are very well done, and there's a consistency to the tone and delivery of the entire package that makes it very satisfying by the end.

Just don't go into it expecting a revelatory experience. It's a solid game that relies too heavily on genre tropes ("kill all enemies to pass!" is all but every room), but different enough in setting and presentation to sit away from the rest of the pack. It just doesn't stand alongside the greats.

So... buying all the half life games included in the anthology pack separately are $6 dollars in total but buying the anthology pack which includes all the games too is $10... Ummm....
Buying all of them is nowhere close to $6, what are you talking about?

IMO the puzzles are decent enough, fighting mechanics is like God of War, dungeon mechanics is like Zelda.

The game is a mash up of different games (Zelda, God of War, Panzer Dragoon, Portal) and combines all of it into a 20 hours of good entertainment. Is it worth $5? Absolutely.

How is the consensus on the SpaceChem DLC? I finally got 3 tickets and guess I will pick it. Also, if I choose to spend my tickets do they still count towards the "grand prize giveaway" at the end?

So I just spent 1,5 hour in Spiral Knights. The game is definitely not for me, I find it just boring as fuck. Anyway, I'm about halfway there to buy those bombs or w/e. POWER THROUGH IT DIVIUS

That's 10x my max speed even when the servers are good, so er, I hate you I guess.

:(

I'll get to 190 kbps if I get lucky. It usually hovers around 90-140. My ISP is terrible.

Apparently they're moving it to another day once they get it sorted out and working properly.

Damn the original half life is giving me motion sickness. Anyway to adjust the game to prevent this?
Not that I've found :(

I can't complete it because of that problem. Anymore than 10 minutes at a time and it kills me.

Darksiders has as much in common with the Legacy of Kain games as it does the Zelda games. There are huge dungeons, you do acquire new weapons/items from these dungeons but there's less of a unified overworld. There's one central hub and then these massive kinda linear sections that lead to equally massive dungeons. Those overworld sections are layered in the sense that Zelda games are, there's always secrets to be unearthed later once you have different gear. The combat is simple yet incredibly fun and satisfying, the game looks amazing both aesthetically (love the Mad art made 'real') and technically if you've got a decent machine. The story is total 90's comic cheese but the rest of thew game is a blast.

Vigil lifted all the right things from so many different games but made those things their own in Darksiders. It's a really great dark fantasy adventure game. Totally worth the 5$.

Is all of the contents of the Magicka Complete Pack necessary? For $5 more I can get everything.

Only Vietnam, the rest is extra maps and accessories which you dont "need".

Check the item description if you are looking for challenge or mp maps if you want. Other than that, take the base game and vietnam.

This is a hilarious post. I originally played the game to get the TF2 hat and had enough money to get the bomb. Then I notice I never got the achievement and found it gone. Game is not for me either.

Also, you should have 4 free tickets if you play TF2, because TF2 has an achievement that gives a ticket, plus the 3 freebie tickets from previous days.
Well yeah, but would you believe I spent an hour before work this morning, jumping between 2fort servers looking to snag that achievement? Could not find a single pyro. WA'S UP WIT' THAT?

Thanks for explaining that. I had no idea how it worked, I am totally new to Steam/PC gaming.

The customer service side of Steam is absolutely horrendous too, the less you have to interact with them the better. I've never had any issues as a day one adopter of the service but just look at what StuBurns is going through.

The combat system is more like God of War than Zelda, you got several weapons and you buy more moves and upgrade them, it can get a little mashy at times but its still fun.
The dungeons and puzzles don't top the best from the Zelda games but they are still really good with some cool and clever puzzles, interesting items and mechanics, and great level design.
Darksiders is well worth $5.

This. I don't like the low res cutscenes (except almost 95% of all PC ports are like this, what can you do) And its missing some important graphics options, but that doesn't matter because you can force AA and AF without any problems.

I was shocked to see at least 2-3 people say they were glad to drop it for the console version. I can understand if you have an older PC, and no controller to play it on but..

I think that was just me actually, and I reneged almost immediately. I wasn't aware it was so easy to force the graphics options.

I'm going to play through it again on PC so I don't lose my master race card.

So even if I spend the tickets, they won't be taken from that jar for the wish list contest?

The funny thing is you never have to even play online to get that achievement. I've owned TF2 since the release of the Orange Box but never really got into it because I'm just terrible at online shooters. Anyway, you can just create your own server, load the lakefield map, I think it was, use the console to force an enemy Pyro to spawn and let him set you on fire at the 1st capture point then jump into the nearby water.
