Do you recall the price? I can't see it being $6 or $10. I'm guessing it was $15.

It was 10$ in Aus only. It was ridiculously cheap, I paypal'd evilcookie and he gifted it to me. Excellent deal. Ive still yet to actually play it though. BUT I HAVE IT ;)

I'm quite enjoying Defense Grid!
It's a game everyone should pick up. The most fun i've ever had with a tower defense game (fast forward feature and checkpoints make it a breeze to play) and wonderfully addictive. I've lost so many hours getting golds on all the maps.

It's an absolute steal at that price. Being able to unlock all the awesome DLC maps with the Summer Camp tickets makes it even more worthwhile.

Picked up Machinarium awhile ago, and I just started playing it. Really digging it. Great music, and it's gorgeous.

How long is it, more or less?

Well, I'm getting DA:O Ultimate, as this is probably the best price I'll find for Awakening. Now I'll just need to uninstall my physical copy of the first game.

I grabbed Defense Grid as well, plus the DLC.

I'm not quite a fan of tower defense, but it's something I tend to like giving extra chances too, so the $3.45 cost plus a potential ticket made it an easy buy. I've played the first three levels and I'm okay with it so far. I'm still not sure when to build/upgrade and when to relax and let the towers work (though I'm guessing rarely). I'll keep at it though, if I can get a few hours out of it, ticker or not, I'll be content.

My first NeoGAF post? Interesting.

Andrew Dice from Carpe Fulgur just tweeted that Chantelise will release by the end of the month.

Recettear has sold 140,000 copies and continues to sell.

Also, their third project is Fortune Summoners which looks AWESOME.

OMG at Fortune Summoners. I fucking love Carpe Fulgur.

Glad to see Recettear is doing so well. I bought it at $17 and it was definitely worth it. It has the same addictive quality that Pokemon has.

Is there more then one dungeon in Recettear? I bought it during the last sale, played through a few weeks easily clearing my debt each time but I had to do the same 5 floors/boss every single time. Got *really* old really fast.

Salsa, you should get your tag changed to something like "Loves Steam more than LovingSteam".

shots fired

to be fair lovingsteam surpassed the 1000 games mark the other day, im at the 300s

but we all know he's on EA's payroll now

So... Two Worlds 2. Is there more to it than just pretty screenshots posted by DennisK4? Or am I going to be spending $17.00 just to fulfill my inner graphics whore?

So I fired up Borderlands for a spin and joined a multi game, it was running fairly poorly. Is that because of Gamespy or do you think the current overload of Steam downloads was causing issues? Hopefully it improves when the summer sale ends.

Also, what are the chances of Borderlands going on sale again on the last day, was it the most popular on its sale day, I want to buy it for me Bro?

Sorry if this has been mentioned already but what are some tweaks for Transformers? I seem to remember that the framerate is capped and the in game options are scant...Are there any hi res texture packs or any other mods that are important to install?

It's SP only, there are Steam achievements and the campaign has quite a few missions/modes.

I can confirm that this works like a charm:

It's a gamespy issue. IIRC, you need to open up some ports too...I forget which ones...

Carpe Fulgur has done a great job in picking titles to bring over. There's a lot of iffy stuff on the indie scene in Japan (much like here, I suppose) but they have a good eye for games with strong mechanics. I will say that Chantelise is just decent though. It's strength on Steam (and elsewhere) will be that there's really not much like it on the PC, so it should do well. Recettear was a perfect first pick because it was just so unique, period.

first of all download this now: http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=85874

Gamespy is pretty shitty, but it might have been several things. You should find people you know are close and play with them, could be ping issues, gamespy, bunch of things.

FPS unlocker: http://forum.notebookreview.com/gam...5576-transformers-wfc-fps-unlocker-psych.html

And the game runs on UE3, wich doesnt guarantee mods at all, im guessing the files are locked and the SDK isnt publicy available.

Loved getting the Iron Grip and Defense Grid tickets today. Who would've known.
I think the best Summer Achievement so far has been Toki Tori because they actually added something new to the game for it.

Steam says my playtime was 5 hours, although I did consult a walkthrough a couple of times. I doubt most people would take more than 6 hours to complete it.

I really love the aesthetic and sound design of Machinarium, but the puzzles did frustrate me at times. Then again pretty much all adventure games piss me off with their stupid puzzles, it's all about the interactive novel aspect for me. And Machinarium succeeds brilliantly in that department.

tried forcing it?

its a pretty regular console port job, gets the job done but doesnt offer many possibilities

Steam is unbearably slow right now so I won't be able to try for another 6+ hours. I just want to have everything set so I don't have to tweak as much later on..

.

Sorry Salsa, I'm new to PC gaming and practically PC illiterate, what does this do and how do I use it?

Also the thing is also not on Mediafile anymore?

Yes. There is even a final boss, tons of characters to unlock, and if you beat the very very final dungeon you
get to see Recettear's dad!

Yeah I must admit that Chantelise looks kind of... so okay it's average. Fortune Summoner on the other hand looks absolutely amazing. I'd buy Chantelise just to give them the money needed to bring over FS.

I'm just looking at a bunch of indie games right now.

Thinking of picking up Toki Tori, Aquaria...

How is Lume?

mmhh, here's an older version (i think, might be a completely different one) but it should still work: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1085076

its a very very useful config tool.

BAC099.png

Allows you to change the field of view (the default, consolized one is nauseating imo), disable the boring nvidia claptrap startup movies, between other things.

Its super straight forward so you should have no trouble at all using it.

So, after playing Civilization 3 for about an hour...Is Civ IV any different? I mean, 3 was fun and all, but it felt like 95% of it was automated and nothing really happened.

Also considering Defense Grid. Though I don't think I've ever really played a tower defense game. I did pick up Plants vs Zombies yesterday though.

So....anyone else buying games they know their PCs can't really handle? I'm running on a four year rig that handles, say, Source games just fine, but can't really take anything too exceptionally new at this point. Been mulling in my head for awhile now about upgrading, though.

I've purchased Dragon Age, Just Cause 2, and Darksiders in terms of resource heavy games. I pretty much know I won't be able to play them in any sort of decent manner at this point in time. Hah.

Guess my reasoning is they are so cheap, that once I do upgrade I'll have a stack of awesome games to run on the system.

Get past the initial tutorial which would leave you to think the game is shit, and you will find one hell of a fun adventure.

Btw, just to clarify: Two Worlds II wasnt discounted at all, it has no discount for the duration of the sale

meaning that we now have confirmation that non-discounted games can get a daily sale, yay!

How accessible/fun is Defense Grid for someone who has very little experience with tower game?

And how is Trine?

Yeah I was spewing I missed it at $7.50. It's back to ~$20 now. I own it on 360, and love it, now want to double dip to play it at, well, higher framerates (also PCGOTY version > 360 Vanilla).

Hopefully it comes back around during the last days.
