Will just grab the vanilla game then, as I've never been good enough at micro-management/multitasking/using hotkeys to have any fun with RTS online. They are strictly a single-player experience for me.

I held out for years but I've finally bought the Quake games. Now those floodgates are opened I wish I didn't skip on the Doom pack a few days ago now.


I considered the id pack but thought two things:

- Why aren't all the Commander Keen games on here?
- Fuck Hexen!

I was looking at a 4 pack of Sanctum but does it really have only 3 maps? That's seems extremely limited for a tower defense game? Maybe I'll just stick to defense grid...

So Steam has now completely blocked me from making any purchases, keeps giving me an error and telling me to contact support.

Try the website?

When that happened to me, they told me to delete everything except steam.exe and the steamapps folder, then relaunch Steam. You'll have to do the email verification again.

After doing this it worked again for me, but I don't actually think this is what fixed it, It hink it was just time since I wasn'ta ble to purchase from the website either.

I wish they'd translate the PC version of that game (from japanese) and slap it on Steam for $10. I'd buy it.

It started happening with a gift but now it won't let me make personal purchases either.

Vanilla is a good choice.
Both the other games have single player campaigns, I haven't finished any of them though.

And 4v4 is fun because you do not need much micro, multitasking, etc. Get a game going with some gaffers and you will be having fun online in no time.

Snap. That sucks. That was happening to me but it turns out it was because the person I was trying to gift had digital herpes or something.

I'm getting pretty antsy about there not being any pointy clicky adventure games in these daily deals. The Next Big Thing is 33% off and is really tempting right now.

Stupid first law of steam sales spoiling all my fun for the next 3 days.

Try changing your download region under Steam > Settings > Download + Cloud. Are you in North America? So is practically everybody else trying to download stuff at the same time. Try changing your download region to, say, Czech Republic and see if it improves your speed. You can always change it back.

I've had fast downloads the whole sale this way.

Mr Robot fits the bill pretty well. It's a very well done console style rpg.

The problem is, it was originally CD audio and the official versions of the game have no means of playing it otherwise. So you either need the original CD or a version that can play it as MP3s.

Get the Penumbra and Amnesia games on Steam. (both from the same developer) First person Lovecraft inspired scary as shit horror games.

It isn't too bad, the structure seems OK. It would be nice if Valve would put a bit of spit-shine on it seeing as how it's actually part of the game now.

Just bought Audiosurf and I'm really liking it. I just hated Beat Hazard and its seizure inducing graphics.

The Lara Croft: GOL Challenge packs are only 86 cents. Anyone know if they're worth buying?

I doubt Bloodlines will go any cheaper. Still hoping for Morrowind myself, but rapidly losing faith on that one. It probably would have been the first day with Oblivion.

I've never played any of the Tomb Raider games. I was wondering which would be the best one to pick up?

I think it's a game that I'd enjoy but can't decide which one to get.

Guardians of Light looks pretty action heavy, so I'm thinking that's not the right one for me.

Go with Guardian of Light. The combat is really inoffensive.

Well I'm buying it the last day regardless, the GAF hype has me lusting, but maybe Activision will throw me a bone.

I think Warhead is even less likely.

EDIT: In terms of Tomb Raider, Anniversary is the best of the normal games, but GoL is awesome, and it's really not heavy on combat at all.

Quite the opposite, you'll spend a lot more time solving puzzles than you do on combat.

I'd recommend Anniversary and GoL as I'm sure most people in this thread would.
