Basically this. Both Beat and Runner give me a terrible headache and eyestrain. Why these games are so universally praised is beyond me... but whatever.

Not only that, I have unnatural hate for the font that they use. Nearly fucking unreadable...

Wtf, Bit Trip Beat is awesome. Don't blame the game for your weak eyes.

So what are the chances of the complete Dawn of War 2 pack going on sale if only the expansion is a daily now?

I'd like to think pretty high, I have been wanting both the base game and Chaos Rising for a while. The one on sale today is an 'expansion' but it's standalone, so it being on sale does not rule out the other two Dawn of War 2 games per se. They both seem to be featured in sales quite often, so being a daily deal in this one seems like a good bet.

Jedi Knight then Deus Ex. Don't listen to anyone else.

So far there are 106,360 members in the summer camp group. That means your odds of winning are about 1 in 1,063 if everyone puts in the same amount of tickets. Better than the lottery. Doubled my wish list today. I wonder if they'll buy future titles.

I picked cheapish yet good titles :)

That way if they glance over my wish list, they'll be like "Wow if we gift him his games, we wont waste too much money"

I kid. It's probably random anyways

Thanks, theres no way Ill get to some of these achieves though. I bought Toki Tori, but I have to seemingly beat the game to unlock the maps, and I have so many on my steam list ahead of that game in my backlog. No way in hell I get to it before August or September.

You never know. Could have a glitch like the State Department that awarded thousands of visa alphabetically instead of random. Why was I cursed with a last name that begins with H?

Joined the summer camp group and completed the Toki Tori and BIT.TRIP BEAT challenges. Time to call it a day. No matter how hard Steam tries, it won't convince me to play games I wouldn't play without the extra incentive.

About BIT.TRIP BEAT, which I just bought: The mouse controls are so much easier to handle than either control scheme on the iOS version, the only one I had tried previously. Beating the game on Normal actually feels manageable now. Also, the higher resolution makes the game look beautiful.

You just need to play through the normal levels in the first world of Toki Tori, and all the levels you need for the challenge will be unlocked.

Just received my gift of Recettear. Thanks to Mr. Elysia and Salsa Shark.

I'll leave with a proper gaming quote from the Jersey Trilogy.

I think I'm buying the Oblivion with the DLC, never played the DLC.

DLC is supposedly good. I never found out though, because I could never get based the extremely boring first couple hours. Tried like 4 times.

Holy SHIT. This isn't possible to buy in America, I assume?

With a Proxy yes, but that puts your account up for a ban.

Edit; Was thinking of another service. Disregard my post!

Also wound up getting Lead and Gold today. My only regret is having not picked it up sooner. What a great little game. =D

wow Lead & Gold is ridiculously cheap

Still haven't been able to get anyone to tell me if it's any good though, I keep clogging my library up with stuff I'll never play but I can't help it!

You know in that Steam picture I recognize Marty Mcfly and the Sam & Max rabbit but who are those other charecters supposed to be?
They are the archangels of finance. The harbringers of Bank Fees, whose creation exist purely to siphon as much currency from your pockets as they can.

Or the Steam sale mascots. Whatever.

It's good, but the community is pretty small during non-sales.

Lead & Gold is an AWESOME game.

HOWEVER, the online community sucks and you can't play a game with a ping greater than 100. It becomes a desync mess. I can't play it, because there are no servers in Brazil.

However, it's an awesome, awesome game. I couldn't recommend it enough, if there are servers in your country.

Lead & Gold, from what little feedback I've seen posted by other users, is a rock solid and fun multiplayer game. Its main problem is the size of its active player base, which isn't all that large and is typically dead between major sales events. Smaller multiplayer games like this, Monday Night Combat or Section 8: Prejudice suffer from this. Good games, just not active enough.

I can't stand single player FPS-view games anymore. Not even Fallout New Vegas could hold my attention. I just stopped enjoying FPS now. I like to see my character.

Just got some play time in to Back to the Future. Such an awesome game.

My favorite part by far is how the game doesn't let you get stuck. I am not that great at figuring out what adventure games want me to do, so at times I get stuck, and eventually give up as I don't want to turn to guides. This game gives hints that make the solution increasingly obvious if you're stuck at any point.

I love this feature because it allows me to continue at my own pace, while still feeling a bit smart if I figure the puzzle out with only minor hints. Of course I try to do what I can without it, but it is much better than the standard going to gamefaqs and reading a guide every time I get stuck.

Yes I realize this makes me a scrub. No, I don't care. :)

If you're going for the MP, I believe that all of the multi features are available with the most recent expansion (Retribution). IMO that is a steal for some of the best RTS MP action around.

Weak eyes or not. This game has too much eye straining features. The color pallete, and the flashing lights while focusing on one part of the screen while looking at the edge of the other one. Runner isn't as bad on the eyes, but BEAT gets really bad. Flashing red and yellow on a black background is fucked up.

I'll give Runner a better recommendation than BEAT just because it's a better game.

Also, man Frozen Synapse comes with a free copy. Hopefully It goes on sale even further so I can get a friend in for free.

I got runner and passed on BEAT myself. Glad to see I made a smart choice.

...

2.50 for BEAT isn't that much though. Damned Steam! This is my first summer sale and I fear how much I will spend by the time it is over.

Bit.Trip Beat is basically like any other rhythm game, DDR, Guitar Hero, Beatmania, it does take some getting used to.

I find it funny, how I tried Beat at a friends house awhile back and didn't like it, but when I got it on Steam during the Potato Sack thing, I had a great time. And the game clicked almost instantly.

I'm a noob to Steam.

How do I do this?

Open steam. Click on the steam menu, click on settings. In the window that opens up click on downloads & cloud. Select your speed I use 10 M Cable and Fiber, and select a server.

Doesn't matter where you are located you can select any of the servers. The one in miami is allowing me to download at 2.0 MB per second.
