Bit.Trip Beat is basically like any other rhythm game, DDR, Guitar Hero, Beatmania, it does take some getting used to.

But those games are more visually pleasing. Imagine if the screen started flickering like crazy in DDR to the point where you can't see the arrows. Ya, fun times.

I love the Bit.Trip series, but one of the reasons I think they're better on Wii is that they're naturally not so close to your face. They don't feel like they cause me nearly as much strain that way.

I dont know how we would. Apparrently private games dont work, and on the public servers itll be hard. Theres doesnt even seem to be a way to chat in game. Coordinating it would be a bitch.

I agree. I feel like they were made with couch distance in mind.

That sucks =/

If I really have to do it on a public server, I'll probably go mad instantly.

Stop sucking?

Oh mighty human wrecking machine, teach me the ways of not sucking and possibly a screenshot of legitimately getting the achievement yourself.

Hey Salsa you should also add this pic to the front page:

Some of the on-sale games are tempting, but...I must resist and wait for the end of the year sales. :(

Kind of disappointed that the huge publisher packs are pretty much exactly the same as last year's packs, but at least I'm not missing out on anything. My wallet may rest easy. I have already bought around 200-300 games off of Steam, and I have yet to play more than 2 of them. :(

I don't own the game. I probably did that achievement like 10 times every time I played it on free weekend.

Finally! Made the Air.Wind.Sun.Pain achievement by just 40 frickin' points. That was stupid hard.
If you want hard, you should of Done the Potato Sack Stage. This was a walk in the park compared to it.

I don't want hard. I don't want to experience anything like that ever again. An hour of my life spent trying to get a third ticket for a pair of TF2 sunglasses, that's just plain insane. Insane.

If you think that was hard you should try Super Meat Boy!

I'm trying to purchase a 4 pack of Lead & Gold to gift friends with, after I bought it for myself, but Steam isn't letting me buy the game.

According to our records, you already own some of the above items on Steam. You can purchase these items as a gift or adjust the contents of your cart to continue.

Except the gift button is greyed out.

Just noticed that one of the prizes for the summer event is Alien Breed 2. I thought rewards were only going to be DLC, nice to see a full game there.

I've made it to the salt mines. What is that, like the 3rd or 4th world? I find SMB a lot less frustrating that AAAAaaaaetc.etc.etc.

IIRC the campaign had six factions and was very flexible in playstyle approach. Still haven't finished it yet though.

Oh so nothing to back up your claim. It's cool, I'll take your word for it. You've convinced me so much.

Apparently someone's never played DDR before. There is an issue of "light" chaos in DDR, but maybe it's just me

Is Borderlands fun in single-player?

I have 172 hours in borderlands, 95% of that is solo play. I havent even went through play through 2 yet on any character. Those same people that say it sucks as a single player are the same that say that about diablo and its clones.

I haven't played DDR in 10 years, from what I remember there wasn't wacky shit like I described. Maybe the new shit has it, who knows.

Just got some play time in to Back to the Future. Such an awesome game.

My favorite part by far is how the game doesn't let you get stuck. I am not that great at figuring out what adventure games want me to do, so at times I get stuck, and eventually give up as I don't want to turn to guides. This game gives hints that make the solution increasingly obvious if you're stuck at any point.

I love this feature because it allows me to continue at my own pace, while still feeling a bit smart if I figure the puzzle out with only minor hints. Of course I try to do what I can without it, but it is much better than the standard going to gamefaqs and reading a guide every time I get stuck.

Yes I realize this makes me a scrub. No, I don't care. :)

Oh they'd hate you over on the TellTale forums. There are a couple that love to just talk nothing but shit about how the game is too easy and that makes it the worst game in the world and everyone who likes it is destorying gaming and is a moron, etc.

I do understand though how you feel. I've always respected Telltale games but never been an adventure gamer and BTTF is perfect for guys like us.

I would be interested as well. I have PayPal.

just a heads-up for this page, since we're all hunting ruskies: they can't accept the paypal from us, apparently. gonna have to barter other means.

Damn it. I finished the first of the three stages in Bit.Trip Beat, but about 75% way through the second stage there's so much shit going on and it causes my computer to slow down. Still, it seems easier than the WiiWare version (I'm using a mouse BTW).

Yeah, I've encountered this every time I have been in your position. You can still gift singles. Lame after you've promised out four copies though only to discover you won't be getting a deal.

Company of Heroes meets WarCraft III meets Dawn of War. It's awesome. I can't speak for the campaign (DOW2 + Chaos Rising were straight up beast) but The Last Stand and Skirmish alone are definitely worth $14.99.

The Emperor does not request your purchase. He demands it.
Tempting, but I think I'll leave it to last day. Sure the game is good, but don't wanna buy a game I won't end up playing ( still haven't finished either of the DoW2 >.<

Some of those guys are nuts. I like adventure games, but some of the solutions are crazy... like the (Monkey Island 2 spoiler)
monkey wrench
. Also, I just don't have the patience with a lot of adventure games if your movement is slow as hell and you constantly have to backtrack.

So yea, I openly admit, I play adventure games with a guide nearby. I don't necessarily look at it for every little thing, but if I get stuck for an extended period of time, I'll check it out. And more often than not, the solution would've been something I never would think of.

I need to start using the UHS hint site in the future though.

I'm wondering if it's worth it. I mean, free is free, but still. I got too much crap to play already.

Steam sales are the two times a year that I don't like living in Seattle. Adding that extra bit of tax on is always a real annoyance. Rain 300 days out of the year I can live with, but 2.74 instead of 2.50 for Beat.Trip Runner is a travesty!
