For the price, it's not bad. Sadly it's a shade of its former release though. Wish Supreme Commander one was on steam :<

The campaign is just painful (mostly the forced acting). In fact, I might be too jaded to answer this for you, perhaps you should get more opinions.

Simply put. SP 1 >>>>>>>> SP 2

(Never tried the DLC, seems to add a few units, which the game damn well needs)

I think you're being a tad harsh. The biggest detractors of SupCom2 were SupCom1 veterans. The sequel is a great game in its own right, with a simplified economy system in comparison to its forebear. The DLC is great, well worth the low price of admission to flesh out an already fun game.

Awesome for multiplayer and co-op comp stomp.

So which one do you think is better if you can only advise people to get one?

I guess you could, but isn´t choosing that mode a way of making it harder than it has to be? I took the ticket by playing Oxygene IV in Pointman Pro mode.
I think it's just easier to get paint all red block in Vegas than it is in other modes; I've just played trough few lengthy and dynamic songs in Pointman Pro mode and in each song I've only had one paint all red block... and every time I've either missed it, or misused it :/

I'm thinking about getting Dawn of War II. Is Retribution all I need? I plan on doing mainly multiplayer. I'm really confused what I need to "get started". Also not sure about the price for Retribution if that is indeed all I need ... doesn't seem like the DoWII series got much love this sale.

So far have bought in this sale Frozen Synapse, Terraria and Supreme Commander 2. Hoping Supreme Commander 2 is good ...

Not counting my netbook I haven't had a real PC for 6 years. 3 weeks ago I bought a custom built PC rig with GAF's help as I've gotten tired of a console gen that just won't end.

I5 2500k, Nvidia 560GTX ti, 8 gig ddr ... I have to say over the last 3 weeks I've come to the realization that I've been missing out big time sticking with the xbox and ps3 for so long.

And GEEZ PC GAMES ARE SO CHEAPPPPP

Yes, if you just want to stick to multiplayer, Retribution is all you need. You'll get all units/factions/heroes from DoW 2 and Chaos Rising plus the new ones from Retribution. The only things you'll miss out on are DoW2 and CR respective campaigns and one Last Stand map I believe.

So I just tried out the demo for The Wonderful End of the World and while I know there are some people that are soured on Dejobaan Games (those that think achievements should be entitlements, mostly) and the game is a shameless Katamari ripoff in the most shameless of ways, I still found it enjoyable.

I think I'll grab the double pack with AaAaA!! and try to get both tickets for my final summer sale day.

But I'm still sitting on the ol' fence about it. I guess I'll decide once the final day's sales are listed.

Is The Longest Journey a point and click game or do you control your character? Just curious. The pics I've seen of TLJ and Dreamfall look very intriguing but I don't have much knowledge of what the games are like.

Yeah I'm not in the camp of hating all of Dejobaan games, I really enjoyed AAaaAA and TWEOTW, even if the latter is just a rip-off of the Katamari games.

Hmm. I created my EA account to play Burnout Paradise a few years ago. I don't have access to the email address it used anymore. I can't remember the password; I've tried everything I think I would have used.

Fine, no problem, I go to create a new account. Unfortunately, my username is taken. I can't sign in by username, just email address, but my username is taken, presumably from my old account. Making matters worse, if I go to Origin support, it claims the username is not taken. So I've probably got a BioWare account, an EA account, and an origin account. WTF?

I have:
- The original email address, no access
- My Xbox copy of Burnout Paradise + my original settings/save file
- The ability to answer a forgot my password question, if any, and provide dates on products I've used.

Is it possible for me to get my username back? :/

Red paints pop up more often on easy Pointman it seems.

Contact EA support. They're surprisingly great.

Point and click. And it has one of video gaming's best stories, writing and characters. A must play imo.

Dreamfall is character controlled (WASD movement) though and suffers from some gameplay flaws (fighting especially).

I put the sequel in my cart because it seems like more of an action/adventure game. I don't know if I could get myself through a point and click these days. Is the story from the first game necessary to enjoy the sequel?

I played the sequel on its own and enjoyed it a lot. I still plan on playing through the original one of these days, though.

Yes. Dreamfall is a much better game if you already are familiar with the characters and setting from The Longest Journey. Just get the double pack with both games, it's incredibly cheap.

And TLJ is a better experience overall than Dreamfall.

I think I just like their sense of humor. Plus, AaAaA!! has the best achievement titles ever. When I've got about (no exaggeration) two dozen different games with an "Over 9000" achievement or ones titled after other liquid garbage tired memes, it's nice to see an indie developer use their brain and not scrape the absolute bottom of the barrel for humor.

K, I might just get the TLJ/Dreamfall pack unless I end up spending more money on today's sale. They sound like something I could get into.

And yeah, EA accounts are a fucking nuisance. I've had plenty of problems of my own with them.

I'd recommend SupCom2 and the DLC for the price they're offering. I'm one of the few who found the original a good game, but the sequel a better one. Perhaps I'm a dolt in the eyes of the vets, but when it comes down to it, SupCom2 is smooth, gorgeous and a lot of fun.

As one FS fan to another, I heartily recommend it!

I am really pissed with myself for not biting on that SSFIV:AE price error. I dismissed it since I was going to grab the AE expansion on PS3 but I just remembered that the PC version will have custom mods. DANG.

Just last week I was able to contact EA support over not being able to login, so there has to be a way to contact them via live chat without logging in.

They were brilliant, btw. Very impressed with the service.

Fortix 2 ticket is very easy.

It's also a pretty fun game. It's basically an updated version of Qix with castles, cannons, power-ups, trolls, and dragons. Also if you buy the first one for .99 cents all those levels appear on the sequel.

Who are all these people who are terrified SupCom2 is a crap game and not even worth $4? ;)

SupCom2 got crapped on for two major reasons when it first came out:

1) Primary reason was the economy model went from one where you have to "pay" for things as they are built, to a more "normal" RTS model of "you can't buy the $100 tank without $100 to buy it".

2) The maps and battles were smaller than in the first one.

For point #1, I'm not a die-hard to have it either way but as it was a model around since Total Annihilation I can see why it was a big deal to suddenly change it. I don't think people cared about this model too much itself, what they loved was the ability to queue up hundreds of build orders and just let them run. When SupCom2 first shipped you couldn't do that anymore since it charged you for the buildings as soon as you "bought" them, making it impossible to play that way. One of the later patches put's it back so its not QUITE like the old model, but you can queue up build orders till your hearts content which was always the most important part.

For point #2, recall that even though the maps are smaller, they are still very big compared to many other RTS games. Especially the DLC maps, I've never had any problem with. If you try and go back to the first game (I still play both), the maps feel too BIG, and the games just take way to long. They lost a nice bullet point on the box for the giant maps from the first game, but it made the GAME better IMO.

I've played both SupCom1 and SupCom2 extensively, and at the end of it I enjoy SupCom2 more. If you genuinely don't like SupCom2 that's obviously okay, but don't hate on it for stuff you remember from a review a couple of years ago... that's mostly changed. I've sunk a lot of hours into both versions of the game (including SupCom2 pre-patches) and I can promise if you like RTS it is worth the money.

Surely EA have been hacked by now. Maybe your details are on The Pirate Bay somewhere.

Team Fortress 2: 5 minutes*
Toki Tori: 15 minutes
Magicka: 5 minutes*
Nation Red: 1 hour - 3 hours
And Yet It Moves - 30 minutes
Left 4 Dead 2 - 30 minutes*
Audiosurf - 10 minutes
Poker Night (thought I had it, won a hand with 6 and 9, but nothing). - 15 minutes
Atom Zombie Smasher? - 1 hours - 2 hours
Day of defeat - 30 minutes*

Added time in that list for titles that I am sure about. Remember, the ones with star are online titles so it can take anywhere between the allotted time to never, depending on how you play.

But thanks for the responses (also to Pylon)

I heartily agree with this. Only the most hardcore SupCom 1 fans hate on SupCom 2 because it's not just the same game.
But thruth to be told is that they streamlined (or "dumbed down") the whole economy aspect in SupCom 2 and focused on the best aspects of the game : gorgeous huge scale battles. The game is just straight amazing fun in co-op.

Thanks for the replies guys, you sold me on SupCom2+ DLC. The asking price is really too good to pass up.

Since my buddy is fervently avoiding finishing the last two levels with me (or is actually doing interesting things with his weekend), if anybody that has COMPLETED the Portal 2 co-op and wants to get the summer ticket, please add me (Steam ID: PixyJunket) and we'll grab it together. Apparently it's not too hard so it should be a quick grab.

Just when I thought I was done with the sale today, I now need to get Supreme Commander 2.

How cpu intensive is it? I remember the first game getting really choppy at times when the unit count hit a certain level.

I'm tempted by this, just can't decide if the DLC is worth it as well. Do most players have it so I won't be able to "comp-stomp" online without it?

WAIT FOR IT UNTIL THE NEW DEALS POST.

DoWII: Retribution was a daily deal on the first day of the sale for $14.99. If they do a "best of" sale today starting at 1:00 PM EST its got a VERY good shot of making a reappearance. If after today's deals post it is not included then consider spending the $22 for it before the sale ends tomorrow at 1:00 PM EST. But only do that if you're sure that you will play it before Christmas because the DoW games are regular members of the Steam summer and holiday sales. You'll probably be able to get it for $14.99 again come Christmas, and possibly even $10.

I've been pretty conservative with my purchases. I've only bought Jamestown, Audiosurf, and Portal 2 so far. For some reason I expect the next update in 2.5 hours to be extremely bad for my wallet.

How do I get the levels into fortix 2?
Do I have to install the first game`?
