In which Haa gets to act stupid all over again. Props to Mirai and Riko for being good actors. No reaction at all to a bad taste. Mofurun seems to have become a ninja.
So genie guy isn't the big bad. Not surprised.

Riko isn't very good at acting cool. For once a Summer Festival I'm interested in. I don't think I ever understood why there are two Diamonds. If this were a more cynical series I'd think Mirai's vow was going to lead to something bad. Thankfully I don't think they can pull the two worlds can never meet again trick once more. Rabu seems like an okay, but ultimately forgettable villain. No idea how this not-magic magic will go. Deusmast will probably be generic, but I like the imagery of gathering in front of the sun. Ed changed. Now they're in an ocean instead of space.

I always enjoy the little details of various Magic World shenanigans. With the sun under attack, where's Sunshine when you need her? The trio sure have grown a lot. Mostly off-screen, though to be fair we've seen them enough for it to feel natural. The return of Mirai's instincts, aka doing something is better than nothing even if you're just guessing. A magic carpet with a steering wheel looks weird. Really convenient that they just happened to be heading in the right direction.

What? Cinderella hype. Also known as bully Kotoha the episode. Kotoha's suffering just became really amusing. Especially nearly breaking her teeth. We get the greatest edition of Cinderella, I mean Mofudeella, ever because the Smartome is feeling bored? Our princess, a teddy bear. Best mom too. Mirai and Kotoha as mice are hilarious. Props to those who came up with the mouse puns. Even the prince gets a good joke in with his jump. Then Mirai having to change size mid-transformation. But not Felice. Like I said, bully Kotoha the episode. Dance off, and save mom by blowing her up with a volcano. All in a productive day's work. This one is going to be remembered.

Either someone can't do frame timings properly when making a gif or that's the most pedestrian fight scene ever conceived from Trigger. Even Inferno Cop looked more exciting. It's so slow and still.While a bit off-topic, for those who don't know, Trigger recently did some animation for Steven Universe. I hope there are more collaborations between Western and Eastern animators in the future.
Of course I should also consider gif bloat and it just running poorly.
Having just watched the episode it didn't seem all that Trigger-y so don't expect something like that recent Gumball thing.
That being said there is very nicely animated song.

A while ago it was announced that NHK would be making a longer version of an Animator Expo short. And the winner is... The Dragon Dentist. The new anime's staff is as follows:

Most of the battle action animation is sheet timed by Jeff Liu.
The mindscape scenes for 'Here Comes a Thought' are a proper FX showcase from someone like Takafumi 'Otonari Jr.' Hori.

I want to be excited for Tsurumaki getting out of his EVA cage but Enokido ...

I show my ignorance, that's good to know. I've been unsatisfied with the show's action for a long time. Figured it was the Korean studio being given poor direction or them not taking creative liberties.
Nah, maybe for the Prison School audience. But I'm not even sure if it's over the top, while it's making fun of the sexualization, or it's just trashy...
Anyway, Autumn has Eupho S2 and new shows like 3 gatsu no lion, Occultic;Nine and Flip Flappers that could potentially be very good.
I found the original one a bit boring, but it looked pretty good. There are other Animator Expo shorts that I'd want to see more of, but I guess this is okay too.

Maijo is the main writer in this case; Enokido is the assistant presumably brought on board by Tsurumaki, since he wrote Tsurumaki's previous two main works.
Well, don't take my word for it as if I know more! At the moment the only animation I'd unequivocally attribute to Mr. Hori is the entire scene I mentioned above, but others don't think so... and I'm no expert identifying KA so I could perfectly be wrong.
Jeff Liu has been working on that type of action scenes himself in all the episodes he has storyboarded lately, that much is sure.
I'm interested because the setting was pretty interesting. Disappointed that it doesn't look like Kameda is coming back for it though.
So it's going to be two 45min episodes now?

Berserker is also pretty cool, with a neat ability and a shroud of mystery. It's a bit weird he's the only one that's full CGI, but he looks good nonetheless.
The duel between Lancer and Saber was too good. Lancer's second spear has a quite broken ability and it works conveniently well with his other one. I liked that both of them kept the formalities and didn't reveal their names... And then Rider arrives and he just doesn't care. lol I can't stop loving this guy's attitude.
