Can't wait for some hype PSX reactions.

I don't know why so many people disliked reboot Tomb Raider, because I loved playing Through that game. Combat was a breath of fresh air an I loved the new mobility option Lara now had. Story was flimsy and pacing was a bit ridiculous, but new Lara is exactly how I want a tomb raider game to play.

The MP was surprisingly solid as well.

To me the TR hate did make it kinda obvious people really play Uncharted primarily for the set pieces/writing/production values.

It did need more puzzles though.

Noooo, most previous Tomb Raider games are clunky as hell, but they do contain plenty of actual tomb raiding. And again, I didn't play it for the plot and characters either, but it does spend quite a bit of its time on it, so it being terrible is a legitimate complaint. Not for everyone, sure, but that's not the point. Also, I'm not trying to claim TR is terrible or that you should not like it, I'm just arguing for my own point of view.

My problem was that we have plenty of Third Person Shooters that are better than Tomb Raider, even within the same year it came out. This had the chance to be a bit more diverse by leading us towards cool and dangerous tombs filled with treasure and traps and tough puzzles and whatnot. All the while being a bit more slow paced, more stealthy and requiring actual hunting and gathering in order to survive. But instead it opted to be another fast-paced shooter, completely disregarding its actual name, as these games sell better and are more popular to the general populace. It works and I had fun with it, but it was quite forgettable for me personally as I was hoping for more.

I payed £3 for it.

I love Pat's reasoning for not putting piss into a spray bottle. It's not because that would be gross, but because he didn't want to get piss on his couch.

Admittedly Woolie's lack of steam is killing me towards the end here and that was quite a moment.

Tomb Raider Reboot is one of the best games I've played with the worst intro sequence ever. It starts focusing entirely on the QTEs, Torture Porn, and poor story, and the more it comes into it's own the better.

Maybe my expectations were just set really low, and I've never played UC2 or 3, but I did actually like it.

That shit's hard to get out of a couch. Solid reasoning.

It needed more complex puzzle solving and actual tombs to raid.

Uncharted didn't do much for me, considering that Indiana jones exists.

Only Uncharted game I played was Golden Abyss. I would have liked it a lot more if it wasn't for all the forced touch screen and gyro shenanigans.

I'll still try give it 2 more hours before I wipe this bloated game from my PS3 and just watch the ChipCheezum and Ironicus LP of it.
I lasted barely an hour. That hour involved:

- A platforming puzzle where i had no idea where to start because Drake's jump distance is arbitrary, and this one time he could jump up like a pro basketball player. R2 hint kep pointing me at the exit, which wasn't helpful at all.

- The first QTE (also instakill) 2 hours into the game and the circle prompt was in bottom left corner. FUCK THAT. God of War had it figured out already, if you don't want to keep your face-button prompt in the middle of the screen, keep it on the button's side. Circle prompt goes on the RIGHT side, you shits.

- A massive fight where I was constantly fired at with a machine gun whenever i wasn't in cover. I dropped my assault rifle for a grenade launcher, was flushed out by enemy grenade, then in new cover I fired one grenade and noticed that I was immediately out of ammo for it. I was then immediately flanked and killed.

Fuck this game.

It's a game of its time no need to freak out about it. I still find it as some goofy fun that gets better as it goes on.

Resident evil 2 doesn't take place in a house

I don't see how that is relevant to my post.
Yea huh what I don't get that either. For the sake of curiosity though is Tomb Raiders Japanese name similar or the same as Tomb Raider. Since we all know Resident Evil in Japan the title has nothing to Residence.

Edit: Nvm I don't know why I was thinking Tomb Raider was released in Japan first. It's too early rn. Regardless my Resusent Evil point still stands.

While we're on the subject, am I the only one here that played/beat the Lucia disc?

Super late, but...

I have every single achievement in DMC2 and the game is an abomination. And as much as I'd like to say that DmC is worse than DMC2, it's not. DMC2 is so fundamentally flawed in such a variety of ways that it would actually be a feat to top it.

EDIT: Jeez, how did I even find this post? It came up when I clicked in the thread, but it's from before I last posted in here.

Googling "Tomb Raider Japan" hasn't given me an answer, but it sure does produce some interesting image results (NSFW).

Speaking of Tomb Raider, are people getting the Temple of Osiris? Guardian of Light was a really strong co-op surprise hit.

It's just barely been one console generation since that game. I will give Uncharted one more shot with 2, like I did with Resistance, but "game of its time" feels a little weird to me when I'm quite often trying out games that're 10, even 15 years old on my first playthrough.

Admittedly those games aren't completely based on spectacle very often.

Oreo ice cream for breakfast because I have the appetite of a pregnant woman and stuff.

How you guys doing?
Work, it sucks

When people talk about uncharted and how much they like it they aren't talking about the first one.

I don't know what you expected.

Can't say I was disappointed either :3

2 is the best game out of the series and the game that won GOTY. You'll be happier with that game.

Well classic Tomb Raider was hardly safe fro work anyway. Seeing as we're on the topic anyway what's the best classic tomb raider aside from the really old ones? I remember playing one of them on the Dreamcast, I think it was 4, and playing one on the 360 but I never played the games very much.

I still enjoy it but it has been polished a lot from the first to second game.

TR2 was my favorite out of the series by Core Design.

Good luck on tests nerds. I'll be here working on my TPS Reports work stuff.

Speaking of Office Space, I never realized how on the nose that movie was until I graduated and started office work.
Really? How's rounding down fractions of cents from bank transactions paying?
:p

Office Space and Dilbert are pretty cool to me. Something about that crushingly cynical outlook on the business world is awesome, coupled with goofy absurdities and exaggerations of the terrible things.

The first opportunity I have to curb stomp a Printer, I'll be posting the video of it to BestGAF.

Pro Tip: If anyone chooses to work in investments, make sure to get the job that isn't back office work, because office work is rote, boring shit and does long term damage to your body.

I'm doing office work now. I can already feel my body going to shit.

2 years since graduation, I've gained at least 20-25 lbs because of how inactive I've become doing office work :/

Going from College/Baseball practice to nothing is jarring for the body and the soul. GAF is keeping my mind engaged.

Good thing I won't be studying as much from now on in my life, one of the few perks of art college

Depends on how you plan to make a living. Art school > Business school IMO. You have multiple skills you start out with that can produce income for you. All I got is a piece of paper that says I'm good as numbers(Finance).

My university has asked me to become a paid tutor a few times. That and my scholarships. So in a real bullshit way I could get paid for doing homework :p

And I idiot, do it for free :(

That's because you're in highschool.

Well.. depends what you go for, but yes, about 8 - 10 years assuming you don't repeat or not have full course load.
