I promise I'll shut up about Caladrius after this (at least until it gets here...), but MAN I'm so hyped right now. Like, not even a week ago I discovered the game and it shot to the top of my want list, but there's no way I could have afforded it. And then today out of goddamn nowhere it goes on sale for $15. Like...holy shit, I never get this lucky. I mean sure, I spent almost as much on shipping as the game itself costs, but whatever, totally worth it.

I fucking love shmups. Granted, I'm not super good at them, but ever since I 1CC'd Crimzon Clover a while back, my confidence in my abilities has shot up a good bit and I've been playing a lot of them. I'm a PS3 owner, and over the years, the PS3 hasn't gotten a lot of shmup love. For most of the past gen, the 360 was the shmup console of choice, even in Japan. PS3 only got a few titles. Mamorukun Curse, Raiden IV: Overkill, Under Defeat HD, Ketsui, and Caladrius Blaze. That's pretty much it as far as Japanese bullet hell shmups go. And I own all of those now save for Ketsui (or at least, I will once Caladrius gets here). So it's nice to have shmups on my system of choice, even if only very few.

And aside from all that, the game itself just looks fantastic. ShmupGAF loves it, and it's got basically everything that appeals to me in shmups. Varied, unique characters with different play-styles, awesome music, more Touhou-like bullet patterns and colors, great character design and overall visual aesthetic, all that good stuff.

If there's any one small thing I'm unhappy about with getting Caladrius, it's that the version on sale is the Asian version. Which means I have to put up with having that dumb giant Hong Kong rating symbol on the cover art. Not a big deal at all, but boy is that thing ugly. Not USK ugly, but close. Colored rating symbols should be abolished worldwide.

Yeah I can see your point. I just hope people don't think it's a porn game when its that noticeable when I display it.

If you really wanted to, you could print out your own boxart, but most people wouldn't have the facilities to do it.

If I had the room to display those games on a nice shelf like a collector, I would.

Maybe when I get my own place, but by then everything would be digital.

Edit: The reason why I was away from all the delicious Rule 63 was that I finally got online working on my Wii U (had to drop it into the DMZ) and I had a couple of matches in Smash. I don't have a Ethernet adapter so 4 player Smash was dreadful so I tried 1v1 For Glory. Man, there are a few people who are really good. It was nice fighting someone that I couldn't just beat straight up, but damn I can feel that lag super hard, even if it's only 5 frames. Makes using ZSS really hard. I have a newfound appreciation for Ganondorf though.

I will have to get the adapter soon so I can Smash with you guys.

If you're in it for the long run, then a LAN adapter would be worth it, of course the connection would still vary. I've had game that run from unplayable to smooth as butter, 1v1 for glory only. I ain't touching 4 player smash unless i'm doing a conquest
