Super Smash Bros. for 3DS |OT3| Little Mac and Cheese

I don't see what makes Greninja so hot. I probably just don't have the right technique, but everytime I use him I can't get a handle on him. I never feel like I'm using the right moves.

To me he seems like he lacks kill moves, a lot of his moves have a weird delay on them that I can't get a grip on, and his down b and side b seem damn near useless. Down B is a super slow counter that sometimes even gets punished before it comes out, and side b while probably having more uses, is insanely punishable once you're looking for it.

I'm missing something obviously, even though he's never really too much of a problem for me when I run into him online.

I have destroyed my friends link with little mac. He's barely pulling any wins now. Any tips for him?

Let him change to Toon Link and start spamming those bombs, boomerangs and arrows. :p

Shield grab game can practically help Link. I'm no Link main but that's how I played Mac using a slow character like Dedede.

The only Wario I've seen in For Glory is myself. :(

I've actually seen Pit and Dark Pit...and a Luigi that kicked my ass.

I've played against a lot of Wario, typically Japanese players. They are so good especially timing that fart KO.

20 hours in the game...and I haven't played with zero suit Samus yet. I'll try her tonight.

I stopped using my main, Mario, and started using Dr. Mario more last night. Dr. Mario feels slower, but I like his Dr. Tornado.

So has Smash 3DS entered anyone else's top ten most played 3DS games yet? With less than a week, it's #7 for me. If I counted the demo time with it, it'd be #5. It will take a while to beat Bravely Default and FE:A for me though.

I decided to complete ALL challenges before attempting For Glory-ness, guys!
and because I have few 3ds friends ;_;

... but 9.0 is 3hard ;____; . How have you beaten it? The maximum difficulty I've attempted and succeded in is 8.0

Anyone try that GC controller mod (has c-stick smash support, soldering newbies need not apply)? Would the small minority using this have an advantage with controller input accuracy? I wonder if that would screw up the balance.

Caved in and bought it, was going to wait for black friday. Going to main wario this go around I think.

I'm on the brink of caving myself.

Use Megaman. Metal Blade + Air Shooter can deal great damage to Master Core, and being projectile helps you create distance against its attacks..

This is true. I'd love it if a dark horse emerges from the stable that isn't purely focused on speed.

I mean, as a racing horse, I guess that would be terrible, but... what I'm saying is Smash has a history of favoring fast characters with low-lag aerials. I want to see Slow Champ. To be optimistic, it feels like Smash 4 has a decent chance of fulfilling that desire.

In most fighting games the fast characters are always the best, while slow and powerful characters are often the worst.

I don't know his moveset off the top of my head, but he has all options and some bs options on top of that. He has great reach, great recovery, and his hydro pump is a mean mean trick to use off stage. You should watch some tourney videos with him. He's an absolute devil.

On different note, last night through my rotation I ended up on Robin and faced a Megaman that definitely knew their zoning and spacing. It was an absolute pain in the ass to get in with Robin, eventually I switched it up to Rosa, not as counterpick, but just because she is my main in my line up. (Rosalina - > Robin -> Lucina -> ZSS) And man, he got shut down so hard, and I just realized, Rosa is dirty XD But regardless she's my opening act so.

So he can zone you back with eggs which are really good here?
He's not easy to zone at all.
The eggs aren't that good though, and aura sphere goes right through them. Plus force palm gets him before he can even throw them.

Is there any way to see who you've fought?

His moves come out very fast. He can punish mistake very nicely. He has a great air game. He has a small hit box. He has an annoying zoning projectile that can be made stronger.

What's there not to like? I've been doing very well with him online.

Maturity, bitches.
I'm really more surprised about Wario not getting any enemies consider how Wario Land is rich of them. You got Fronks for the Warioware side I guess.
Everyone's favourite Wario enemy!

Wario Ware could have had any baddy from the minigames. Easy one is The Square!

The misconception that Mega is beyond redemption will be quashed eventually. The anecdotal evidence is strong!

He's a heavy-pressure char, it's just hard to use him right, especially for my playstyle.

You need to be cold and calculating to handle Megaman.

I'm finding Ganondorf's custom special moves really weird.

Weird as in they don't seem to have any drawbacks like Mario's and the majority of the cast's customs which have greater power at the cost of low range and startup and vice versa. Everything still hits plenty hard and can come out faster in a slightly different trajectory.

Very impressed with my Mii fighter, and i love that sakurai went with this idea. Game is amazing, better than dare i say it - Melee

I can't *believe* these lazy developers keep making file sizes so damn large. Btw, how does technology work?
If you don't know what the jargon means, just ask. We like answering questions!

Picking a weaker character is not forbidden. We don't really know how good the Links are (some of the bomb tricks look pretty useful). They seem viable. I fought a Gaffer a couple days ago with a Link that made my characters look useless. The disparity doesn't seem huge, so it's at least worth a shot.

The meta game does usually find a smaller subset of better characters, yeah. You'll always have low tier heroes though, and there's nothing wrong with that. If playing a character is important to you, regardless of how they compare to other characters, go for it.

Link is an amazing specialist from every range, so I wouldn't count him out. His three projectiles create a sort of rock-paper-scissors mindgame with your opponent and the ability to angle your boomerang and bounce it off the ground for a 45* angle is invaluable. His bombs can be used to enter the stage from above safely (many other characters have fewer options when re-entering the stage, but Link has a myriad of safe options). However, even at his best, in every Smash, he's going to be taking a pummeling and landing fewer, but stronger, hits compared to a Sheik or a ZSS.

So if you want a faster character with less endlag on his moves (endlag is the time it takes to regain control of a character after performing a move; Link has moves with plenty of start and endlag, so you have to be a very cautious player) that you're probably already good with, I'd consider Toon Link. He's basically Young Link with better air game. He is a speedy little sucker and when you're up against a talented Marth you might want that in your court.

EDIT: And as a Smash player since 1999 who has just immersed himself in the meta game, I can 100% say that it only enhances your enjoyment of the game and appreciation for the mechanics. Just remember that you're playing to have fun; don't get too stingy. Play an item match every once in a while.

Thank you, both of you, very much! I'll give Toon Link another shot - sounds like now is a good of time as any to try and get a bit more serious about this series.

I'm sure this is far from the last time I'll be asking questions.

I know gale boomerang messes up Mac's positioning but I don't really use Link.

Zone out Macs with projectiles. The Gale Boomerang is especially nice.

Thanks for the tips guys.
I'll nonchalantly bring them up to him.
