Super hyped for this and can't wait to jump in tonight. The first game is fantastic.

Haha I'm definitely a bit biased. I love Descenders and Riders Republic. A lot.

Same, working on that post game now. Gamepass wise Indie and 33 are still on hold. I barely started 33 so yeah…

And Grounded 2 is going to be out soon too. First game was amazing.

Descenders actually came out several years before riders republic

I prefer riders republic but I've made threads about both games and I think Descenders might be more popular than Riders Republic here.

Edit: the games are very different. Descenders is a rogulite. Riders republic is a mmo shared open world game with events littered everywhere

Still trying to figure out how this works honestly but its definitely fun. Very original gameplay loop also for snowboarding.

You have to race through pretty small chunks of track without dying or you lose a health point on each bail. Once I lost 2 points so not sure if thats due to repeat wrecks or high speed. Once you advance to certain areas you can bank your progress and it unlocks those spots on the map. Doing the listed trick objective on each section regenerated 1 HP. Pretty cool set up emphasizing accuracy and survival on the races.

Its clearly a bit low budget here and there but you feel the speed. The snow feels weighty. The grinds are fun because its really free form instead of locked in like Tony Hawk.

Still trying to figure out this control scheme honestly. Not getting how you use both sticks on steering.

Soundtrack so far is a little weak; not up to Shredders OST.

Alright I'm not feelin this or maybe I should have played more. I loved Descenders 1 and hyped the shit out of it in the past on gaf, but this isn't what I expected.

The trick parks or w/e are good, and I find those the most fun. I feel like every track should just be those. How many are in the game? I would hope like 30 or so with unique layouts. But the whole way of getting to those parks, IE racing downhill (or slowing down) and trying not to die for a quick 30seconds a track or so? I would rather play handmade tracks like the trick parks only. Racing downhill and trying not to die (which I will say I had some deaths that I can't figure out wtf is going on), for 3 or 4 tracks isn't that fun to me personally. That loop is boring. There should be more emphasis on the trick parks.

Maybe there is though and I just haven't played enough.
