Syria launches fresh airstrikes from the base USA bombed

Foot soldiers are the most useless expenditure in modern war. Those numbers don't show the truth which is that the US has more air superiority fighters and bombers and missiles and carriers and nuclear submarines. That all matters.

why bother spending all that money designing technology themselves when they can... borrow it? lol

i believe they also have the blueprints for the F-22

The amount of stolen data was "the equivalent of five Libraries of Congress (50 terabytes)," the NSA said. A terabyte is 1,000 gigabytes.

For the F-35, according to NSA the Chinese were able to obtain digital design information on several different types of radar modules used by the fighter.

Northrop Grumman, the jet's manufacturer, built the AN/APG-81 active, electronically scanned array radar for the F-35. The high-tech radar uses small, solid-state transmitter and receiver modules that allow the jet to avoid detection by enemy radar, a key stealth feature.

Another Northrop radar on the F-35 is the AN/AAS-37 electro-optical distributed aperture system the company says provides pilots with "unique protective sphere around the aircraft for missile warning, navigation support, and night operations," according to Northrop's website.

On F-35 engine schematics, the Chinese stole data on the methods used by the turbine to cool gases, along with leading and trailing edge engine treatments and engine heat reduction data—also key elements of its stealth design.

By learning the secrets, the Chinese were able to include the design and technology in Beijing's new stealth jet, the J-20. The secret also could allow Chinese air defenses to target the F-35 in a future conflict.

Other losses to Chinese cyber spies included the air refueling schedules of the U.S. Pacific Command, the military command that would be engaged in any future conflict with China.

China also stole data on the U.S. Transportation Command's Single Mobility System. The network system is used by Transcom to plan missions for sending military troops and equipment by aircraft, ship, road, and rail in military operations.

Navy losses to Chinese hackers included data on missile navigation and tracking system, nuclear submarine and anti-aircraft missile design and over 300,000 user identification and passwords.

Anyone taking the Syria strike as proof there's no Russian connection to Trump needs their head examined. How gullible can you be?

This is America bruh. Don't dare us to go down the gullible rabbit hole. We will "hold my beer" the fuck out of you with a challenge like that.

Wait wait wait... The US had secret data housed in servers and computers accessible via internet?
Shouldn't that stuff be in separate intranet or require manual data transfer (ie move stuff around with an USB stick)? Would make internet hacking impossible or at least far more difficult.

The reality of the situation. The message was loud and clear "we don't like chemical weapons because we saw pictures on fox news... but we still can't actually do shit because we don't want to start ww3... so please be nice."

Things only stop if Russia says so, or all hell really breaks loose. This was the exact same situation before and after the pointless strike.

It was perfect, when you really think about it. You fire a barrage of missiles at a sight you know will be for the most part, evacuated.

Now, you have changed the narrative. The news cycle has moved from Bannnon, Kushner, but also Rice, and accusations against President Obama.

Yup time for Assad to just bomb his civilians with conventional weapons now. Mission accomplished?

It's incredibly difficult to prove intentional targetting of civilians under international law (they call it collateral damage). Use of chemical weapons is more clear cut (even if Russia disputes it, but they've cried wolf so many times that nobody believes them anymore).

Do you realise how imperialistic this sounds?

A lot of US bases are from imperialism, take Diego Garcia. UK kicked out the indigenous people and handed it over to US for a military base. Why US and not other countries? Because US has earned UK's trust more than any other country. #Realpolitik

Would really like to know more about the attack. From what little I know I thought cruise missles flew very low and are difficult to track nevermindshoot down. Was the Navy lazy picking courses or are the Russian systems better then expected.

In a real war situation the anti-aircraft systems themselves would be one of the first targets. That definitely wasn't the case here for obvious reasons.

"Our military is a disaster, a complete disaster. We never win anymore, never ever win anymore, it's a disaster."

I just get home, haven't been able to watch the news all day. Turn on CNN and I'm hearing there is universal praise for Trumps actions last night. I don't understand this world anymore...

We all deserve whats coming honestly with this much stupid on planet Earth.
When you go to war or take military action, the US will love you to pieces. Their ratings go up, and they love to hype/cheerlead this stuff. It's pretty sickening.
You can't put a price on greatness! Every missile is a mighty boner that blasts the glory of America all over the faces of foreign lands. I hear it tastes a little bit like freedom.
This post was under appreciated.
Russian air defense system
I want this confirmed. Because this part is really bothering me.

Tin foil time:

I think this was pretty setup.

Trump get to say "not a puppet" and get an aprroval boost.

Russia gets to test its middle defense against US hardware.

Win for everyone. Except the Syrian people of course.

The really tin foil guy at the office thinks it was isis (that did the chemicals attack) just trying to stir up shit but I think that's been pretty debunked. Although this does help thier cause too.

The US spends more than the top 11 countries combined on military and yet can't build accurate missiles lol.

Yet the Chinese are able to take out spy planes no problem.

The blind adoration for Trump just because he made rockets go boom is a big reason why the US is a fucking joke. I've even heard from pundits multiple times today that "if you're cynical, one could even say he did this for the politics". Fuck off, you know Trump is a heartless dickwad, just because we don't buy into his crocodile tears does not mean we're "cynical". This is not on us, don't try to make it about us.

Look, kids killed in botched specials ops are different than "beautiful babies" killed by sarin gas. The former are baby terrorists, the latter are good props.. oops. Let me start over...
