What are your overall impressions of the i3? I was torn between it and the tesla, so i'm curious to hear first hand what you think of it.
I love it! I've had it for 7 months now and don't regret getting it at all. It's very zippy and maneuvers like a dream because of the skinny tires. Speaking of those, you get used to them super fast. I wouldn't want to hit a deep pothole, but the car feels extremely stable and the ride is smooth even on the 20" sport tires.
The fit and finish is great whether on the lower or higher trims. The wood in the Tera World trim is gorgeous in person paired with the brown leather. Their are plant fibers throughout the dashboard plastics to give it a unique texture, and lots of visible carbon fiber when you open the doors.
Interior rear legroom is no doubt limited in comparison with the Tesla, but it really isn't bad, and headroom is great. Front leg/headroom is great and the car feels very spacious.
My favorite thing is the strong (more so than the Tesla, so I hear) regenerative breaking. It feels very weird the first few times driving it, but I wouldn't want to go back. It makes my city commutes much better without the constant pedal switching.
The range is lacking in comparison to a Tesla, but if you are using it within the city mostly, I think it's fine, especially if you can charge at your house. I got the range extender model as a safety net. I love that it doesn't operate as a hybrid, and simply uses the gas engine as a generator if the charge gets too low, so it has only ever turned on 3-4 times in my time owning the car.
I know I probably sound like a salesman, but I really do love the car. I suggest a test drive, because the regenerative braking isn't for everybody.
