It took this long for y'all to notice Domi's fiancé? SMH I called dibs several rounds ago. :P

Also, Li needs to consider being a stand up comedian after retirement. Too funny.

Chinese food to celebrate Li Na's win :D

Lindstedt/Kubot won the doubles competition, it's the first time someone from my country won a major during my life yay.

Hopefully Stan will come out believing in himself and guns blazing tomorrow, he might as well give it a shot.

I'm watching the US open final 2011 again...this tennis! I hope we see such rallies this year again.

And what a terrible crowd! Don't they have any culture?

That third set was just brutal. I've no idea how Nadal pulled that out of the bag. I thought he might be on the verge of a great comeback, but it was him, rather than Djokovic, that ran out of gas and got steamrollered in the fourth.

I happen to like those tough, grinding tennis matches as much as the natural elegance of a classic Federer match.

Hard courts aren't as fast as they used to be but calling them claylike is absurd (not to mention that there are more differences between clay and hard than just court speed). And Nadal has plenty of wins on fast surfaces (Queens 2008, for example). The only surface I would say is legitimately too fast for him is carpet.

This is the result you get from slowing down the hard courts to almost a clay-like speed. Unfortunately, the ATP are making it easy for nadal to win the hardcourt tournaments that he wouldn't have come close to winning 10 years ago.

Absolutely, and it's a damn travesty what they've done.

Here's the reasons I've gathered as to why each of the big 4 has haters.

Nadal:
-Annoying extended grunt
-On court superstition habits
-tennis fans skeptical about steroid use

Djokovic:
-Cocky and arrogant on the court
-Cocky and arrogant off the court
-lacks class/tennis etiquette in certain areas

Murray
-Attitude issues
-feigns injury whenever his game goes awry
-disrespectful to his coaches and team
-his face

Federer
-lacks emotion
-complaints to ATP about tennis season being too long

I really couldn't come up with anything else for Fed. He by far has the fewest haters because you really have to grasp for straws to find something unlikable about him.

Fed is smug as fuck and easily my least favourite of the big 4. He's easily the most passive-aggressive, at least you know where you stand with the other 3.

EDIT: In particular, that '15' jacket when he beat Roddick at Wimbledon 2009 was one of the most arrogant things I've ever seen. You have to be a grade A douche to do that.

I was about to bring that up. Also, his "performance" after losing to Nadal at AO 09 was cringe-worthy.

Yup, and he can be a douche in pressers after losing.

Oh, for sure. Fed is horrible in press releases, he's almost as bad as Serena Williams at being utterly condescending with basically no praise for his opponent.

Anyway, enough bitching. Gonna have to wake up early to see the Stanimal beat Nadal (I wish...).

i don't want to live in a world where nadal has as many slams as pistol pete :(

I don't want to either but he's going to beat Roger on total of Grand Slam wins I think unless his knee's give out.

He has the FO on farm status really if he's healthy which is a large contribution to that total.

fixed that for you

I am rooting hardcore for Stan to win, but the odds are so heavily stacked against him, it's kinda sad. :(

I'm not sure who I want to win this. Hopefully it's a good match.

Edit: Surprised Fed never beat both Nole and Rafa in a grand slam.

Not sure who I want to win, but the last thing I want to see is Stan go down in three straight sets, or Rafa for that matter, however unlikely that may be. I want a five set epic with twists and turns.
