Watched the newest episode. Another strong episode. So I guess that means Agent Keen isn't his daughter then?

My girlfriend started watching this right after rewatching The Office.
I can't unsee Robert California now. It's like the same character left managing a Paper Company and decided to help catch criminals.

Latest episode was terrifying, and with Dan Knauf penning the script, very reminiscent of Carnivale. The Giant from Twin Peaks was suitably creepy. The whole ep just: eek. Good reveal at the end, too.

Really enjoyed tonight's episode. Loving this badass Liz, as always. Some great moments with Samar there as well. Goddamn, she's gorgeous. Hoping we'll get additional development with Cooper, sometime.

Finally, lovely twist. Spader has such wonderful delivery. And to anyone who grouses about the predictability of it, I just shake my head. Honestly, I don't see it as being predictable at all, specifically for the average show-watcher who isn't pouring over every line of dialogue/screenshot.

Just sad that after next week, the wait will be quite long for the latter half of the series. Also, would love some more friendly interactions between Liz and Red. Jesus Christ, those two are tense.

It's kind of convenient that a Mossad agent was added as a regular protagonist at the height of Israel hate in the west. The first season had a lot of consequentialist and conservative undertones, but this just makes it clear what kind of people are running this show.

I wanted to say this after last week's episode, but did they really try to pass off Tom in the locked room as a big secret that nobody could figure out?

what the fuck else could it be, the show is 1 season old, there ARE no other mysteries except that one. #lizziesecret lol

anyway, season is kinda meh so far, it needs more Red and less...everyone else. Liz is especially annoying these days, and I didnt even mind her in season 1

Red takes down yet another super amazing and deadly assassin without breaking a sweat.

Come the fuck on. I feel like I'm watching only to watch at this point. I've pretty much lost all interest in the story and the characters....

Not even Red has been interesting so far, his effortlessly taking down the villain of the week is worn out and tired. Stormare is also being completely wasted as Berlin.

Not to mention Tom, a wildcard who had potential to be a real player, also being wasted....

I feel like not much changed through the first half of this season. Tom is still gone, Berlin has been replaced by another faceless threat. We still don't have any more information on the big mysteries. It's fun to watch, but not much in the way of progress.

All that's changed is more Liz butt.

I thought this show had so much potential in the first couple of eps in S1 but holy crap it's gotten so boring. Only reason I watch it now is because of Alan Shore.

Can someone explain the ending of this ep to me?
How long has Tom actually been working for Red? Has he been embedded with Berlin (and Liz) for Red all along?

We don't know at this time. It seemed like a quadruple cross just for the sake of it thus far.

That ass is a wig brah.

Berlin. What a complete and utter waste of time.

Seriously, they did absolutely nothing of note with this guy. What the fuck was the point of even getting Stormare only to completely waste him?

Are we to believe that Red and Tom have been working togther all the time now then? But what about in the first series where they sat and spoke as if they didn't know each other? Why would they act this way when no one was watching?

It's all gone to pot really. An interesting show to begin with but it has quickly become ridiculous. Spader looks bored now. Can't see it lasting much longer.

This was a completely ridiculous twist, but it's seem par the course with this show.

I've had enough, I'll see out the rest of the season and then be on my merry way.

Yeah the whole Berlin character was completely pointless and basically served as a way to build tension at the end of season one so they could avoid explaining a single thing that was going on.

Yeah. I have to agree that the writing is getting sloppier. This show is still on my pull list, but if the writing gets worse over the season, I may just have to drop it.

My wife and I started watching the first season on Netflix yesterday around 5:30 PM and are now through 18 episodes, haha. It's quite good -- Spader is wonderful in this.

Really good episode last night. Probably my favorite one yet. Perlman and Spader are both just so fun to watch.

Perlman too good. I wonder what'll happen next week, if what most of us expect, will turn out to be true.

The last sequence was awesome. I love when Red goes full badass on everyone.

That ending though. I need to know what happens!

New episode's about to start! They're rerunning the last one, and holy shit that part during the final sequence when Red storms the room Braxton is in with Liz is still soooooo good.

I have a feeling that this episode is going to be a massive exposition dump... or a massive tease, again.

Sunavabitch just when they're about to reveal something, they end the episode. I think it's pretty obvious now (as it has been from the start) that Red is Liz's father, yeah? He's got burns all over his back, he was present at the fire, Liz thinks her father died in the fire, and her memory was tempered with to "switch roles around". He's. Her. Father.

I wish they'd just be out with it already and stop dancing around it.

yeah, I'm sticking with Red being her father, but at the same time, it's so obvious.

I don't know if they'll go for that lol.

I'm gonna go with him saving her from her father. There's too much at stake for there to be no vindication.

Part of me wants to have that if Liz is Reddington's daughter, Reddington basically didn't 'lie' when he said he wasn't Liz's father, as it was her foster-dad who filled that role in her life.

The other half things she's the only other way to access some mysterious information, i.e. Red keeps mentioning some file/network with the Blacklist, among other things. Red cares, in a paternal manner even, but...it'd be so obvious that there really isn't any way they could pull it off as a twist.

It's a toss-up, honestly.

Edit: Plus, Luther seemed in the know, and last episode, it seemed more like he was implying that Red came to the house for some reason other than to save Liz, initially.

Maybe he originally went to the house to get the Fulcrum and ended up saving Liz from the people that started the fire instead?

Which reminds me, was that thing that Liz pulled out of the teddy bear at the end supposed to be the Fulcrum?

I'm gonna go with him saving her from her father. There's too much at stake for there to be no vindication.
Yeah, if he isn't her father, then he definitely either saved her from her father or from the people retrieving the Fulcrum, who had maybe already killed her father.

Well, as of having finished the latest episode Red's definitely one of two people.

Either
The guy going after the fulcrum/the guy in plaid, escorting his thugs out of the building, and then turning around to get Liz (which could be supported if either of the other two guys in the scene match Liz's foster dad

Or
the father who was shot, who manages to rouse himself, and the 'you were there' is a redirection. This hints more at the out-of-the-way manner in which Red goes to protect her, and why he hasn't just kidnapped her and gotten the information out. Also lent credence by the burns on Red's back, when it looks like the other, plaid-wearing man got out before the flames went up.

Both have bald patches, and Liz's hypnotherapy and drug cocktail aren't exactly reliable, much less being a 4 year old.

Red looks so sad at the end of the last interrogation scene as Liz storms off.

Also, if Liz's Father had the fulcrum, and if Red, as he implies at the end with the guy who hired Luthor, actually has it....add that to the memory expert section at the end, and...yeah. Though I can't quite see Red not knowing that the bunny had what is inferred to be the fulcrum inside of it, and took it from Liz, unless it was his back-up/insurance.

Also, the tech-guy/Israeli agent romance is hilariously awkward, and I can't get over how Liz keeps flip-flopping. She hates Reddington at the end of one episode, and is back to working with him at the next one.
