My bold prediction for Sony's conference:

They'll talk about how they're beating Microsoft in sales, but unfortunately forget about Nintendo. They'll show some footage of games we already knew about, and announce that they're working on Home and it'll go into beta some time in September, maybe. Everyone will cry.

Honestly I hope Sony doesn't think they can run away showing always their usual over exposed titles like Little Big Planet, Killzone, Resistance 2,etc
We know they're good, but now they're getting boring, just release them and show us fresh exciting things.

Funny thing is i have pretty low expectations for this conference...I already know about games I want like Killzone and Resistance...already got MGS...now I am looking forward to God of War III (this would be nice to see) and whatever Team ICO is working on...

I don't think anything else will blow me away, but here is hoping.

Honestly? Core gamers were fooled with the Nintendo 64. Gamecube was a 2nd warning. Now the Wii is out. The only core gamers that expected the Wii, by itself, to satisfy them number in the few and delusional. There isn't any excuse to expect so much out of a Nintendo console any more.

I think Nintendo must have had to pull some game they were planning to show at the last minute, because I don't think they would have teased a game announcement for hardcore gamers to show Animal Crossing. But maybe I'm giving Nintendo too much credit.

They never cared about the "core gamers", they KNOW Nintendo fans are hooked on Zelda, Mario and SSB and they can do anything they want, Nintendo fans will always support them, Sony fans aren't like that at all, one exclusive goes multiplatform and they'll string you up by the balls.

Premiere is a one-day PlayStation event that focuses on games developed in Japan, primarily for Japanese audiences. At least that's what it was last year. :/

Edit: Was there ANYTHING at Sony's event that was from a Japanese publisher? I know RE5 was in a montage, was that it? Maybe all the Japanese stuff is coming later, seems really odd to me that it was pretty much devoid of that stuff.
