Higher Value items yield more EXP. And not in some linear fashion, either; that is, 1x Value 2000 != 10x Value 200, despite how it really, really should.

Honestly, the best way is to either utilize trainers or to just use the bugged endless Persuasion loop in Riften. It's abusing a glitch, yes, but the only other way I can think of is to push items up to 6000+ value and selling them for only a small amount of the money. Unless you have a 6k+ vendor somewhere.

Yeah, the low-money vendors are the reason why I want to get Speechcraft to 70 and above.

yeah, I asked the same question yesterday.

I got to use Lydia for about 3 minutes (total) and she was apparently killed by a dragon I was fighting.

Fortunately I have other sacrificial...er followers

Oh man, I don't want to have to deal with shitty A.I.!

Yes but you have to cause it. Enemy attacks (that are not Lingering Damage debuffs like Poison) will not kill them no matter what you try. If they fall over dead, you're just a terrible person that murdered your loyal companion. You horrible person you.

Well, PC version anyway, though I'd assume PS3 and 360 are the same. I've tried a good 10-ish hours of nothing but various situations of getting Lydia killed and that was the conclusion I came to. Dragon Priests, Mages, Dragons, Giants, etc. could never kill her no matter how hard I tried; Falmers could, however, with their Poisoned weapons.

...in retrospect, spending that much time just to try to kill Lydia over and over makes me a pretty terrible person, huh.

All in the name of research :)

Okay, this is starting to get freaky.

In Riften, I met a guy named Louis Letrush. A rich Breton, he complained to me that he bought an expensive horse from Sibbi Black-Briar right before the latter got jailed for murder. He still wanted his horse delivered, though, but the Black-Briar family refused to acknowledge the deal had even taken place. I took it upon myself to deliver the horse to him, which I eventually did. He rode off into the sunset on his brand new horse.

A bit later, near Markarth, I was exploring when I came upon Louis Letrush once more. This time, he was on foot, and being chased by an Orc mercenary. I rushed forward to intercept them, but before I got there the Orc cornered him. He told Letrush "Maven Black-Briar says hi", and shamelessly cut him down. I finished off the Orc, but Letrush was dead as dead can be.

A bit later, I take the carriage from Markarth to Whiterun. I arrive outside the city, and notice something odd... There's a person sticking through the ground right in front of the stables. It's Letrush, and he's alive. He doesn't move, he doesn't have any dialog options, he's just submerged partly into the ground, with an animation like he's still sitting on his old horse. I tried my best to ignore him, and carried on.

Now, however, shit got extra freaky. I was travelling home from Windhelm when I arrived at Whiterun. I notice there's an NPC standing besides Letrush... A very familiar NPC. It's another Louis Letrush.

Pardon the shitty picture.

I just realized I've been playing a single questline (
Nightingale Line
) for 4-6 hours and it's not even part of the story.

If they don't get out of the way of my dual-wielding power attack, it's their fault!

ok, some other questions:
- should I buy an horse for 1000?
- should I be a summoner? I mean, is a summoner strong? Should I spend points on that?
- my bounty is 1 gold and if a guard finds me he takes all the stuff that I robbed. :|
how can I avoid this?

with the 1g bounty, do you have the option that asks the guard if it's worth arresting you over such a small bounty?

Ack. Just ran into a bug with finishing a late main quest. Spoilers:

I need to get Ulfric and General Tullius to agree to a peace council with the Greybeards. I convinced Tullius just fine, but when I talk to Ulfric, he won't discuss anything with me, he just tells me to speak with Galmar about running an errand. I assume this has something to do with joining their side of the war, which is a quest I started but didn't finish. All I need to do to finish it, is speak with Galmar.

The thing is, he won't talk to me either. All he says is "I can't believe you convinced Ulfric to talk to the Empire," which I haven't done yet.

Hopefully I can resolve this from an older save. I have one from before the peace council quest was given, so maybe I can resolve the Stormcloak joining quest first and continue without problems.

Was playing late last night, wandering back from a quest near Whiterun, when the headless horseman ghost rode by. Scared the crap out of me at first, but then realized he was just going about his way. Chased him for a bit, but couldn't keep up for long.

I imagine he's part of some quest at some point.

BTW, did you guys know what the lyrics of the main theme mean? You know, the "Dohvahkiin Dohvahkiin!"..

It means this, apparently:

Dragonborn Dragonborn by his honour is sworn to keep evil forever at bay and the fiercest foes rout when they hear triumph's shout
Dragonborn for your blessing we pray and the scrolls have fortold of black wings in the cold that when brothers wage war come unfurled Alduin bane of kings ancient shadow unbound with a hunger to swallow the world

I knew the 'Dragonborn' word, but that's it lol.

40 hours into the game, and I've just realized that you can train skills five times PER LEVEL, not five times for the whole game. Wish I knew this sooner.

ah, in the castle of whiterun i found a very cool sword in a case but the difficulty is at the maximum. I tried 15 times and nothing, can't open that. Are there some tricks? Or i'm doing it wrong.

yeah but does that horse die?
and ok, i'll buy some spell for the summoner.

no, i don't have that option.

The horse dies if you jump from a cliff that is too high or if its killed by enemies.

Personally i dont see the point of a horse, its barely faster than running and the whole slowly dismounting + taking out my sword everytime i come across an enemy that is beating my horse or myself is annoying.

There are plenty of things they can do to make horses better, but they're way faster than going around through any other manual way but werewolf form.

Blackreach is indeed awesome, but it seems like one section (near the city with the servants) is either unfinished or not loading anything besides the base LOD mesh.
And then I got a CTD while exploring part of it :/

Here's some other pics I took a while back. Shitty quality, but eh. I need a capture device or something.

Got to Windhelm today. It's nice and cozy. Also went to the glacier / icy region to the north. Beautiful. But, from a distance, it looks there's no water in the ocean and it's just things floating in the air.

Are you interested in joining the foremost specialists in Murder in the country?

If so, save on buying the horse

Yeah I love Windhelm, the whole coastal area is rather pretty.

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
Tracking is bugged on several of them. Yes, you can "track" them, but the map is very wrong.

For a long time I was playing the game, I had multiple Misc. quests marked, but nothing was on the map. You need to mark the actual option of Miscellaneous on top of that if you haven't, it has been spot on for me so far.

Can you become a vampire multiple times in Skyrim? In Morrowind and Oblivion you couldn't become one anymore after being cured of it.

I feel kinda bad about it, but I think I'm gonna kill my horse. It's annoying how it's always there when I fast travel somewhere.

You can open any lock at any skill level. The Master ones will just be tougher because they'll break a lot more quickly, but it's definitely manageable, and that's one of the best parts of it. Certainly helps if you have practice from Fallout 3 and New Vegas, since it's the same system. I've opened every lock I've come across, personally.

Really, lockpicking is stupid easy in this game.

Move the lockpick slightly to the right (seems more common open spot than left) tap very lightly. Did the lock move without making a jingle sound? No? Move it a tiny bit more right, try again. Repeat until you find the open spot. Pick break? You should be paying attention to the rust/moulding patterns so you know where it was previously placed.

Even with zero lockpick skills, it shouldn't ever take more than 20 picks for a master lock. If you don't have that many lockpicks, what the fuck have you been doing? Loot them from bandits, and they are also cheaply bought in the Misc section of shops.

geez, any glitch/cheat about that? I'm trying from 30 min and still nothing. >_>
If you are to that point, push ~ click on the lock and enter unlock

Yep, with every basic vendor I come across I habitually check their Misc section for lockpicks. Lockpicks make up probably 95% of the stuff I've bought from shops outside of spells. :p

Uhm... I think Skyrim might have bricked my PS3 right now.

I was playing, right in the middle of a dungeon and three enemies came against. I decided to use the fire shout and right as I threw it, the PS3 resetted and the power led started to blink. Now every time I try to turn it on (it's been less than 5 minutes so I'll let it rest for some 10-15 minutes until I try again) the power led turns green, then blinks and goes back to blinking red (and doesn't turn on).

It's an old big fat PS3 and the fan was already incredibly loud. I will start working in January so I can buy another one by then, but hopefully I can save my savedata (if I put the HDD on the new PS3 whenever I buy it?).

Oh well, I will try to turn it on again in a bit...

PS. I'm not even angry at Skyrim. Love the game too much, and just now got across the 60 hour line. Maybe this is my PS3 telling me to do something else? lol..

I became thrall of Solitude, but my housecarl never showed up that the Jarl promised and the quest to help the people of the area is still in my unfinished misc? Bug or help? 360 version

It's not worth it. Everything in the chests scales as well. If you want to level up Lockpipcking it is much better to simply open locks around your level.

I'm lvl 47 and have some leftover perk points, decided to pursue and use Destruction magic for a while, for fun. Think I'll have to choose between ice, fire and lightning...which one is best if I can perk up just one? Which one is most fun?

Why does EVERYONE have lockpicks, anyway? You pickpocket some random lady on the street: lockpick! You kill a high ranking officer, on his corpse: lockpick! You find an abandoned shack that once belonged to an evil mage: lockpick! Is everyone that afraid of locking themselves out of their house?
