The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim |OT2| Team Edward's Revenge

DRock

has yet to tasted the golden nectar that is tag
So I guess no console patch this week? Has the PC one been solid so far with fixing the previous issues and not breaking anything else?

The bigger question is why these aren't stacked. I see 10 Greater Soul Gem (Petty) entries in there, instead of 1 Greater Soul Gem (Petty) (10).

Because every single one of those has a different amount of charge in them. Not all Petty Souls are equal. The pre-filled ones are all the same, however, so they will stack up.

Not sure if anyone replied to my question, but I found the answer to it.

If you go up to High Hrothgar, there are stone tablets that you can read
(10 of them). If you read all of them, you get a special "active power" called Voice of the Sky. I makes all ambient animals neutral towards you (Mammoths w/ Giants still don't appreciate you infiltrating their personal space). It lasts for 23 hours and can be re-applied by re-reading the 10 tablets again, as many times as you like. Just a heads up :) I find it super handy. The effect goes away if you attack an animal.

Some followers like Lydia have Steel Armor by default, and you cannot take that away via trade window even if you give her something better. Can one pickpocket that default armor away with the final pickpocketing perk?

Another big question is why the fuck they aren't sorted alphabetically. Seriously, Bethesda, that's basic game design you managed to throw out the window.

It's a bad system, but not inconsistent in the way you're thinking.

The Lesser/Greater/Petty that you see in parentheses isn't alphabetized because it's the quantity field. This is why they can't stack, btw.

I started out Imperial and mostly ranked up Heavy Armor, Shield, and One-Handed, but after about level 10 that became very boring to me, so I switched it up and generally run around with some Heavy gauntlets/bracers and the rest magical robes or Light Armor and some quest rewards w/ a spell in one hand and a one-handed in the other. It's quite fun and I'm leveling Sneak, Archery, Conjuration, and Destruction the fastest. Also switched my Warrior Blessing to the Thief Blessing.

Is this wise/okay to play this way? I mean, I know my stats would be greater if I focused on a certain type of playthrough, but I've had a blast just kind of winging it, and mix-and-matching it. This is my first ES game that I've actually played for more than 2 hours, after all.

Edit: Actually, I'm loving the Ice Spike + One Handed combo (still using the Skyforge Sword right now, haven't found one better even at level 17.. :\) and my Dwarven Bow at night.

I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I began thinking I was going to be a mixture of One-Handed and Destruction magic, but then started branching out a bit into Archery and stealth. I'm having a lot of fun since I haven't invested so heavily into something that the game has become insanely easy.

Was wandering around the great white North last night when I stumbled across a mammoth half-frozen in the side of a glacier. It was impaled by spears and bristled with Dwarven arrows. Looks like something the Dwemer killed millennia ago.

SKYRIM.

Also, fought my first Ancient Dragon. It didn't give me as much trouble as my first Elder Dragon, but boy did it hit harder. At lv.35 with Epic Daedric Armor its tail-swipe attack could 2-shot me. Had to use a potion of extreme healing after every attack. My game skipped the Frost Dragon tier - went straight from Blood to Elder.

Better yet, lure them into a Stormcloak camp.

Heh. This reminds me, a few nights ago I ran into a giant escorting two mammoths way up north, in the snowy mountains. I had no idea they wandered up there. I ran into them on a narrow path between mountains as I was running south. They usually go nuts if I get that close, but I had to in order to get through so I gallup on by.

They all protest and give chase. At the bottom of the pass I run into 3-4 Imperial soldiers, who are duking it out with a pair of necromancers. I run further down the bank and turn to watch the fireworks, as the giant and mammoths (literally) plow into them. They all got blindsided. Me, I stood down there and looted the corpses as they slid down the mountain side. :lol

(Then ran like hell when the giant and mammoths turned their attention my way.)

I told (main quest spoiler)
Delphine and Esbern
to follow me, just to see if I could get more than one follower (I already had Athis). It seemed to be working for a bit until I arrived at Volunruud, where Arngeir had sent me on a radiant, miscellaneous quest. Unfortunately, when I arrive outside,
Delphine
tells me they'll meet me at
Karthspire
, and the two of them run off together, and not even in the right direction. Now, I did some Google searches, and many other players are talking about how these two are great followers, seeing as they're both powerful and immortal, and how they're running them on adventures around Skyrim. Has anyone else had issues with these two as followers?

Archer is insanly powerfull. I had a friend over who plays a battlemage, and he couldn't believe how much damage i could deal without even being seen.

Yup, I am Sneak/Archery and I usually clear out caves/dungeons without being seen once. You just sneak, use Aura Whisper to see where everyone is and then snipe them. I kill almost everything in one hit with sneak bonus. Usually the only thing I need to fight is a boss, then I just conjure something to distract and go snipe some more.

Is that a skill I have yet to see somewhere? Haven't played in a couple weeks.

I haven't been anywhere near this focused, myself. I'll use bows at long range, magic for midrange and 1-handed for CQC. It's seemed to work out well enough so far.

Oh man, I gotta find that.

Yeah, I just found it about 5 hours ago and it's been really handy.

Quick question (I know I should read the thread, but given the speed it moves at, it'd take me hours to find the answer to my question)...

Anyway, has anyone else's magic resistance suddenly stopped working since the patch? I've also found I can't complete certain misc quests and items are staying in my inventory when I've completed other quests. (they can't be removed at all.)

And my thieves guild progression has stopped. I keep getting sent on crappy quests to steal stuff or forge numbers, etc. Is this is a known bug?

What are all the main 'Guilds' that are tied to achievements? Companions, Dark Brotherhood, Mages College, Thieves Guild, and anything else? I've finished up Companions and Dark Brotherhood, and have done about maybe 1/4 of the mages, but haven't touched the thieves yet. Kinda thinking about doing the main quest before I go any further.

Anyone that has finished the main quest - any reason to hold off at this point? Is it better to be around a certain level before moving forward? I'm level 24.

So all these groups want me to join them. Do I have to choose just one and the rest of the groups are pissed at me or can I join each and every group?
Also I'm an idiot. 4-5 hours in and I'm already confused with the stroy. I'm bad with names anyways so trying to remember the names in Skyrim has been a disaster so this game is about killing dragons, doing some good deeds and killing shit for me. Good enough.

Yup, magic resistence is down for now. Sell off all your magic-resistence enchanted gear and enjoy killing flame atronachs with fireball for a while.

ARGH!

I won't be selling my enchanted stuff, but that's seriously fucked up. Based on your answer, I'm guessing there's no ETA on when it will be fixed?

What the fuck, Bethesda. Test your patches before releasing them. :x

One thing I really like about this game is how multiple levels of stuff can all occupy a single area. I was in one dungeon doing some stuff for a "guild" quest and came across another quest that was contained in that dungeon. The final boss for that quest was basically unbeatable for me at my current level, so I'll have to come back at some point. Much better than just having stuff for people at only certain levels in single locations.

Yeah, I'm on PS3, so it was basically a straight trade between having an unplayable game and having no elemental resistence. I chose the option that left me play, in the very least.

The Civil War questline. Not a guild, but tied to achievements.

Ah yes. I'm not really into politics in the real world, so I haven't put much effort into this one as I just don't have much of an interest compared to the other stuff. I really have no idea who to side with. I'm a Nord, so I feel like roleplaying-wise I should go Imperial, but I seem to have an irrational hatred towards the Thalmor. Not sure what to do here.

Not necessarily. The uprising is mainly being pushed by Nord people.

It's Nord against Nord, brother against brother. It's a messy situation and no matter which side you pick, you'll feel bad about it at one point or another.

Enjoy.

I went Stormcloak before I really knew much about them, and I'm most displeased with how they are handling their rising influence. I'm only just now understanding why they're called a pack of racists.

It's not a black/white, good/evil choice on sides, which is nice. But I'm a lot less comfortable with my Stormcloak cohorts now that we've taken Whiterun.

Any better reward for choosing one side over the other?

Yes, everyone's. Is fixed with the 1.3 patch (already out on PC, coming soon for consoles.)

EDIT: So late.

Aside from Elder dragons, they're the only thing that makes me shudder in fear. I have to snipe them from afar.
Elder Dragons? There are worse to come.....

I actually finished the main storyline with my Orc Warrior (Heavy Armour, Two Handed, Smithing, Enchantment) and the final battle was a picnic. But then again I was lvl 51 and my Orc is an animal with his Daedric Warhammer. With 2 enchantments on armour and weapons he's a killing machine, though admittedly that's on Adept difficulty. I don't think Expert will give me any trouble but Master might.

Think I might try a Breton next. That Magic resistance is very tempting.

I'm still on 1.1. Is it worth getting the newest patch on PC? Will I need to change my Skyrim 4GB app?

I keep hearing about Ancient dragons, but I haven't run into any yet. I'm level 41 (and not going to advance more than a couple further), but I haven't pushed the main quest ahead very far at all, not sure if their appearance is tied to the former or latter.

Yeah, those guys are tough. I'm even getting them even as regular enemies now instead of bosses.

I just had to clear a whole dungeon full of them, it was damn tough. On a positive note, they did all have ebony greatswords so I now have 220,000 gold :D although nothing to spend it on :/

Nothing more fun than getting 3 of them at once and all casting FUSRODAH at you. Gotta love seeing my character's ragdoll in all sort of awkward positions.

Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
I found some random place called Arcwind Point...and my god, what the fuck.
I had to fight an Elder dragon, two Dragur Deathlords, a bunch of skeletons, and climbed a decently large tower to get my well deserved reward! Which was...a book on a podium....that gave me a point in restoration. What.
