People is suspicious now, saying that the Ferrari is faster than Mercedes, but thats not true imo, Mercedes tyre degradation + awful strategy is whats happening.

It's like Mercedes knew how to time-trial, but forgot how to race.
Arrogance and wrong calls have cost them today. Its almost like its been so long since they were challenged as soon as they have been they have acted like a solero in the hot Malaysian sun.

Exactly. Unless anyone can beat Mercedes in a fair and standard qualifying session, it's not right to say that they're faster than Mercedes.

What do you mean fair? They all had to race in the same conditions. You could say if Ferrari hadnt made such bad decisions back in marinello that Mercedes would of never been constructors champion. Vettel wins fair and square today and they've had good race pace throughout the weekend.

Fantastic performance from Ferrari and congrats to Vettel.

Well deserved. And a great comeback from Kimi too.

But I think when the tracks are cooler and the Mercs don't lunch their tyres normal service might be resumed. Hope not!

Things we know:

  • Ferrari are lot closer to Mercedes than we think
  • Rosberg is a radio driver
  • Mercedes need to remember how to actually race

Well, five laps to go, according to Mercedes calculations Hamilton must be right behind Vettel, and Rosberg about to became P2.

I was actually criticising Vettel yesterday for even suggesting that he could win the race. Thinking that he'd set the expectations a bit too high and all that. Man.

Kimi qualified 11th, had a poor start ,then got a puncture was last and now fourth. If not for seb then that's the drive of the day by some margin.

Both Red Bulls being lapped by a Ferrari....that I live to see this. [edit] unless he backs of a bit and manages the gap...

I hope Vettel's rep around here is going to get a boost, after his performance today!

Red Bull will be asking for rules to hold back Ferrari after this weekend..

EDIT:

7 - Toro Rosso Renault
8 - Toro Rosso Renault
9 - Red Bull Renault
10 - Red Bull Renault

Oh dear, Adrian.

Ferrari were very bold to set up the car for the dry and bold at the safety car. Mercedes did the opposite in both those cases with a safe setup and a "everyone is going to pit, duh" gamble with not one but both cars!

Lewis probably wins this if he'd stayed out at the start. Kimi might have gotten a podium were not for the qualifying issues and a slashed tyre. Mercedes is learning the hard way that they can't be casually conservative with setups anymore.

Season might be fun after all, but a lot of what made this race more interesting was the split strategies and we don't get that often these days. Also uncertain how much Mercedes is actually "trying" yet or not because they haven't had to for over a year.
