Yeah, true. They are not the same. But huge swaths of the medium do heavily, heavily borrow from cinematic narratives, aka "TV" and "movies".
Borrowing to profit, not necessarily because it's good for the medium.
Neil Druckman is obviously a talent who seems interested in making traditional stories. TV and movies are where he should go to pursue those interests.
Games should be about exploring what makes them special in the first place (player choice). Druckman stepping away while Naughty Dog focuses on Factions II is a great sign that someone over there gets it.
